It's been 3 years since my reduction but this site was like my Bible before my surgery, so I thought it was time to return the favor. If my story or photos might help someone else, then it's worth taking the time to do this. I've always had HUGE boobs for my frame and after each child, they got more and more "National Geographic" looking. See photos. I hated to be without a bra, even while being intimate with my husband of 16 years. I went through my insurance by requesting a reduction due to back problems. Through insurance, there were a few hoops I had to jump through, first seeing my regular care doctor, then having physical therapy sessions (which was great because even though they didn't help what so ever, I was told that they could see a start of a curvature of my spine due to the breast weight and me always slumping over to "hide" them from attention.) My doctor, Dr. Berzin was freaking amazing! He listened to all my concerns, especially being terrified of ending up too small. Which was scary, because to be covered by insurance, there was a certain amount that had to be removed. But he assured me I'd be happy - and I am!! Best decision ever & I'd do it again in a heart beat. No complications, only some little bumps in my cleavage that no one seems to know what they are... but I'll get to that shortly. He even explained that because my areola were so huge that I would have some of that areola skin left over on the bottom of my new breasts... okay, it sounds weird and kinda looks weird too when you see it. But I'm weird, LOL & I love it because at anytime I can look at that and be reminded of how huge and long and droopy they were! I see that at the bottom crease now and think, wow, that used to be the top edge of my areola before!! AND... most important for me - he was able to keep sensitivity in my nipples. This ain't a joke ladies, if you enjoy sex and you think this might be important to you - then trust me, IT IS! I read horror stories of women losing feeling to their nipples and how depressed that made them. The 1st couple years (and a little bit to this day) I have areas on the other sides of my boobs that have no feeling. It feels so odd, especial when I have an itch there and scratching is pointless... I can't imagine what no sensitivity in your nipples must feel! Ask questions, think about it after your consultation, then ask more questions. Feel comfortable with your doctor! I had a bad experience with my Rhinoplasty, so I was blessed to have Dr. Berzin for my reduction. I will post again soon regarding my little mystery cleavage bumps.

Thanks for sharing. I'm 4 weeks post op and am terrified I won't be a C. How long did it take for you to get to that size?

A few months. Don't worry. You have to let them 'settle'. Right after my surgery I'd say I was a B. If you look at the photo where I was getting my drains removed versus the very last photo of me in the gray sports bra, you will see a big difference. :)
