All I Want Is A Belly Button

Well, I am scheduled for a consultation December 1, 2014 and I am nervous. I know this is what I want but I am aprehensive about all that could go wrong. I know that I finished having children and I have worked really hard to get into shape. I run usually four days a week and I love distance running. I just have loose skin and a hidden belly button.

Please share your experience with the OR and Recovery. Anyone dealt with infections? Is it painful after?

Well, on Monday is my consultation with Dr. Healy. I have called his office a couple of times for questions and I have to say that I am impressed with his staff. I hope he is just as friendly. My mind is made up...I want to have the extra skin removed on my belly. I am only nervous about the anesthesia and the after effects. I am looking forward to hear what the doctor recommends and honestly...the cost. It has been a lot of hard work to loose the weight of having three children however, I have kept it off for three years and I have made a complete lifestyle change in my and our families eating habits. All I want is a belly button. :-)
I am curious to know if it were possible to have an epidural instead of general anesthesia.

Today I met Dr. Healy and his staff. WOW, is what comes to mind. I was totally surprised by the care and professional approach I felt from the entire office. I felt so comfortable from the minute I walked in to his private office to begin the consultation. My friend was with me for support.

What I appreciate most is that he did not try to sell something to me that I did not want or had asked for. I TRUST him, and that is huge for me. I have had experiences which have made it difficult for me to even have routine checkups.

Dr. Healy was very clear and very thorough throughout the consultation. He dedicated a lot of time to me as well as answered my questions and addressed my concerns. The price was a little more than what I had budgeted for however, I realized that I am paying for a lot more than a three hour procedure. I am paying for months worth of post op treatment and care AND I am paying for his expertise and professional work. He is an artist who works solely on humans. What an honorable profession!

Needless to say, I am scheduled for pre-op and the surgery. I am having only skin removed with no liposuction or muscle tightening. I AM HAPPY and so excited that I am finally doing this. All my hard work has paid off. All I want is a belly button.
