CoolSculpting: Stories

I just went in today (07/02/2012) to have Coolsculpting done to my lower abs. They used the smaller (6.3) applicator because I am 5'8 and 117 lbs and didn't have enough fat for the larger applicator. I just have a stubborn little pooch of flubber from having my son that will not go away with diet and exercise and this seemed like a good route to take.

After arriving, a cool gel pad was placed on my stomach for the applicator to be put onto. Then, the technician put the applicator over my lower abdomen and I felt an intense suctioning sensation. I wouldn't say it hurt necessarily, but it did make my stomach feel really tight and breathing was a bit awkward as I got used to it.

Next the technician turned on the cooling part of the machine and while it did feel insanely cold for a bit, it wasn't anything unbearable for me -- maybe a 4 or 5 on the discomfort scale.

The machine was on me for an hour while I played on Facebook and sat there looking at all my fat suctioned into a little vacuum (and trust me, it will make you a bit self conscious seeing that).

When the hour was up, the technician took off the Coolsculpting applicator and my stomach looked like a giant heap of butter. She massaged my stomach to get rid of the buttery look and it felt kinda weird. I don't feel that it hurt at all, but it just was weird to have her massaging my stomach and not being able to feel it much.

So far, it's been about 12 hours since I have had it done and I am still numb. No pain or bruising yet, but I am obnoxiously bloated to the point I look 3 months pregnant and stuck wearing gym shorts...hopefully this will go away soon. I will keep you all updated. :)

07/03/2012 (Day 2): Still no pain, but I am very bloated and a bit numb yet.

07/04/2012 (Day 3): No pain, but still numb and bloated.

07/05/2012 (Day 4): VERY bloated, still pretty numb. A bit of tingling here and there.

07/09/2012 (Day 7): A little more bloated than before surgery still, but it has gone down quite a bit from before and I no longer look 3 months pregnant, haha. I feel an occasional tingle, but I would definitely not refer to it as pain. My stomach is still numb, but I am starting to get a bit of feeling back.

07/12/2012 (Day 10): Still bloated. Hoping this goes away soon! Also, I have some numb spots yet, but a lot more feeling than a few days ago.
