Sadly, I don't know whether to believe that any of these reviews are real, or just another ploy by the medical field to make a buck. I'm starting to hold many doctors and their practices on the same par as debt collectors. What's worse, they use their aesthetician to execute their greed.
And these before and after photos are at best, deceiving. What they don't mention is how many botox injections these women have had in addition to their fraxel treatments; I'm still waiting for the punch line.
I have obvious scar tissue on my chin and the sides of my face from chronic face picking. It's white, spongy, scar tissue coupled with, what I've been told, is melasma. I want to emphasize that although my face is smooth the scar tissue is not subtle and I am very self-conscious about it, and cannot cover it with makeup. This was NEVER addressed, after pointing it out several times, by any of the above mentioned professionals; although I never did talk to the actual dermatologist after having spent 3grand on fraxel. The dermatologist I went to in Fort Worth has a stellar reputation. Hmmm...
Several weeks after my third treatment, I see no difference and the white spots are more prominent and I have permanent raccoon eyes now because the skin around my eyes has darkened. Niiicce... I haven't been on a ski trip since I was 13 but look like I'm perpetually returning from one.
I should also add the aesthetician never took before and after photos although she mentioned doing it all three times I was in there.
I could write a novel on my experiences (oops, I think I already have) with a few doctors in the Fort Worth area. The few aestheticians I've been treated by are just out to sell a product. The problems I have with my skin consume me and I hate that I don't have enough confidence to not care what the world thinks when it's looking me in the face.. I do care and was very excited to take this step to possibly change that. I believe they really take advantage of your psychological state to really sell you and get your money.
I am VERY unhappy...
Great review?

It has been almost two years since my treatments and my skin certainly doesn't look any better. The fraxel didn't improve the texture, the melasma; nothing. And now I am getting these, what seem to be, tiny blisters covering my cheek areas. I can't say for sure they are due to the fraxel, but I never got them before the procedure.
Please folks, DO NOT waste your money on this! Use it to go to an endocrinologist who specialize in the reasons we have such problems in the first place. That is of-course if you're having fraxel done for the same reasons as myself.
I went to Dr. Malouf in Fort Worth. I don't know if it's in his defense or not but I never once encountered him when in his office. An aesthetician did the treatments. And looking back, I had gone to someone else in the mid cities, another aesthetician and she convinced me to buy the whole obagi system that contains undesirable ingredients at $90 a bottle. Then she convinced me to buy a Clarisonic pro which was $250. She lied and told me it would diminish fine lines, it does not. I drew the line when she continually tried to sell me some pills that supposedly protect your skin from uv rays.
Just be careful folks, I feel such shame when I look at myself still. I am 38 years old and feel hopeless now as to what I should do to help my confidence and literally put my best face forward. Never trust someone who is trying to sell you something when they no longer can move any muscles in their face.
i'm sure you already know that.
No problem Bowman, I took care of it. Thanks for the info! :)

HI leopardwoman,
Yay, I'm glad you wrote a review. This will be really helpful to the community. I'm \ sorry your procedure didn't go well at all. Have you gone back and asked them about the darkening under your eyes and white spots? Or have you considered going to a dermatologist to see if they might be able to help? Please keep us updated.
Thanks so much for the review,
-Britt
