Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

This post was actually written 11/22/2015. I meant to post it much earlier but I got caught up elsewhere before submitting.

Note: Clearly I'm no newbie to this industry. I am well educated on HIPAA guidelines along with the TOS of RealSelf. Please respect my privacy boundaries if I choose to not reveal much information. Violators will be reported.

I'm a top reviewer for several other (bigger) sites. I will not be naming them because it is in their best (legal) interest. I'm mentioning this in case anyone sees a cross reference to not freak out. Shout out my ladies! I love you all...otherwise I wouldn't put so much damn effort into my reviews. The reason I bother with RealSelf is because this website has helped me SO MUCH in the past. I decided to make a new RealSelf account because I don't want the wrong doctors to be associated with the right ones. Yes, it's a common confusion on here. With that being said - either way, I intend on posting the results of my breast augmentation. I appreciate everyone that takes the time to properly document their experiences. :)

Background on me: I used to obese. Lost it all quite quickly - without weightloss surgery. Even though I'm currently thin, my body is disgusting. I can be a solid 5 with clothing and make up. The second I take it off though... yikes. Lets just say I could give my plastic surgeon PTSD. God I hope he's worked on uglier people than me.

One of my boobs is way bigger and lower than the other. I am getting 475cc HP silicone in my left, 425cc HP silicone in my right. I wear a 30A/30AA or 32 band in bras currently. I'm hopeful for a small d cup but I may have gone too small. Who knows. I called the assistant right after my pre-op to change the size. She said it was way too late. REALLY not pleased about that as nobody verbally warned me. I know TONS of girls that could change their mind up until the morning of surgery. I actually took it to a certain reputable source & polled to verify my assumption. So yes this is a rarity and............definitely concerning as it was not verbally communicated & I did not know. :( I am going to have to go through the contract & have a word with my surgeon to prevent this happening to other women.

If any of you have specific questions, feel free to contact me via message. I'm here to help! Sometimes it is hard to locate unique information from people with first hand experiences if you can't interact with them. Don't be shy!

Attached is a before (breast augmentation) photo.............................in a padded bra. I may have been fat but the boob fairy never hit me.

Day of surgery (11/23/2015) pictures.

Written day of 11/23/2015:
I woke up at 4am. Washed my face, made sure I had my papers, then headed to the hospital. Got there at exactly 530AM. My friend accompanied me. I was expecting a rather stressful registration process but Baylor Surgical Hospital in Fort Worth was wonderful. It was quick and easy. They then put an IV in me. It took several tries and I was left with a pretty big bruise on my hand. The nurse had to get a children sized needle in the end IIRC. She was very sweet, so I not upset in the slightest because I know it was a 100% accident. The anesthesiologist came in and introduced himself. Then a few others. Everyone had a great attitude...especially given how early it was. :P

The doctor eventually came in and marked me up. They wheeled me out. And before I knew it, I was waking up. I never got to see the Keller Funnel I paid for them to use nor the implants ahead of time. Just noting that in case any of you are paranoid. I do not recall ever seeing my dr after surgery. He barely said a few words to me before surgery that day.

I woke up with zero pain in my breasts. I did not eat much during the week due to stress so my body reacted a bit stronger to the anesthesia than most because it was running on empty. The only pain I felt was in my throat, coming from the breathing tube. My brain was VERY foggy all day. I was a bit psycho to my friend after she tried to remove my hairnet. LOL. Additionally it took me over an hour to order pizza from Dominos website afterwards because my brain was not present. Serious business! If a day of lacking coherent thinking skills and dry throat are my biggest complaint to [RS bleep] about; I'd have to say the surgery went pretty damn smoothly. Only addressing the surgery in this post. It is WAY too early to judge the final outcome of my BA and surgeon's skills.

As for the size of my implants?! Just a reminder, i went with 475cc in my left (30aa preop) and 450cc in my right (30a preop). High profile. Because my boobs were second cousins, not twins. YES I wish I could have had the power to go up a size. That was unfair in my book. HOWEVER putting that aside.....I think the surgeon made the right call using 50cc more in my smaller (left) breast than my right. As of right now they look completely even in size...but not in position. Dropping may help even them out since all BAs are ugly for a bit.

I am 5'7" & on the thinner side of average. I only have a ribcage of 29 inches. It is common knowledge on all the breast implant forums I contribute to that under the muscle silicone implants must "drop and fluff". There's a big chance my breasts could look larger once they settle. It's only day one & I'd estimate them to be a full c cup bra. ON BOTH breasts for once hehe.

Sidenote: I didn't feel ANY pain as the day went on, even without painkillers. That is AMAZING to me. I did pick up my prescriptions from the dr (a few antibiotics to ward off any bacterial issues as I heal, Norco, Valium, and hydrocodone). I don't like to use medications if they are not absolutely necessary. The nausea meds were definitely needed (I threw up several times - very minor though) & I'm playing it safe by taking the antibiotics.

I feel great!

Adding: Several friends with BAs have mentioned it was unprofessional to send me home with all that filth on me. I'm assuming the red stuff and red streak across my stomach is just anti bacterial soap of some type and hopefully not blood. LOL. I have a way bigger bone to pick than being sent home like this... Im sure its not a rarity

I havent linked anyone to my realself review page yet...

And for good reasoning. I don't want this page to get much attention until everything is set in stone.

I am choosing to not post my plastic surgeons name until all is said and done with. But I will after December 3rd. This is due to a few major billing concerns I have at the moment & I'm still irked about the lack of communication re final cc sizing. I prefer to give thorough reviews and to be fair. Good service = praising reviews. Bad service = no second chance in hell and I will post about it EVERYWHERE possible to warn others. However - I believe in being fair. I will discuss my issues with him at post op re billing issue. I chose him based off of his honest demeanor and positive realself reviews. He was the only surgeon to straight up tell me "no, we cant fit giant implants in you".

Nobody really paid attention to my Yelp posts until a legal fiasco ERUPTED between a certain local spa & I. It's sad that negative reviews are the ones to garnish the most attention. As you can see I believe in free speech & will use it as a power. However I do see others abuse it by writing nasty reviews BEFORE notifying a business that they are unhappy with their services. Believe it or not - sometimes even professionals make mistakes! Please give them a chance to correct it before threatening their success/livelihood.

Based off how his employees handled the matter, I would not recommend my surgeon. Billing was a nightmare from hell. For now on everything will be recorded and documented in case I choose legal recourse on the matter. I will elaborate AFTER my post op appointment. I'm giving him *1* chance to fix the billing issue (AKA refund me) and address the cc final sizing complaint. I have tried to take it up with his assistant BEFORE SURGERY DAY (I have the calls logged) and she was not helpful AT ALL. Basically did not care.

Even plastic surgeons must follow HIPAA laws along with other ethical codes. This includes their employees, too. THESE LAWS ARE DESIGNED TO PROTECT PATIENTS. Writing on realself or any other review site does NOT forfeit your rights. If any of you feel your doctor has retaliated or exposed your privacy in any matter - PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. I know I would. You are entitled to compensation if they violate any of the laws. You must make a formal complaint to Department of Labor's Office of Civil Rights to file the HIPAA violation for legal recourse.
