Well, now that I am nearly three weeks out - I can write fairly intelligently about this. I am 60, but eat clean and work out 5.5 hours a week. I wanted my tummy tucked (bulgy as a result of C section and an appendectomy gone awry and my muffins reduced. My breasts were deflated, hence the augmentation.

At Three Weeks Out...

I am mostly over the swelling, but am still quite puffy on the right side, where all the bruising happened (and large, hard spot on my flank occurred too). I can see the shape I'm going to be down the road clearly now. The augmentation was upsetting as they turned out WAY too big. Entirely my fault. I trusted doctor to tell me there were smaller sizes available than what they had in stock and he didn't. Therefore, I didn't know 265 WASN'T the smallest you could get. Now, I have to cope with these (on me) giant boobs that are tight, uncomfortable and essentially, in the way all the time. This was an expensive lesson in DOING YOUR HOMEWORK and not getting upsold on stuff you didn't want or plan on, which was the case with the augmentation. I went in ONLY for the lipo and got talked into a tuck (which is OK, that part I am liking) and the next visit, I was talked into the augmentation by a nurse....they fail to realize that not everyone on the planet who wants to augment, does it for SIZE. I wanted only to inflate what was deflated over time and babies. Instead I went from a small B to a GIANT nearly D cup. Now, I have to wait years to get these out and have smaller ones put in....let my mistakes be a lesson! Also, everything takes more time after 50 to get back where it was supposed to be. Photos tomorrow....

A month out as of today....

Well, the swelling has gone down a lot, I am back in my pre-surgical pants and shorts - but they are still tight and the pain/hardness and excessive bruising is still there. I've combed through web sites and the only doctor that responded here gave me the advice that I'd already been following (take bromain, drink lots of fluids, keep compression garments on, etc).....not one single person or site addresses this 4" X 3" hard knot on my right flank - which continues to hurt when touched or pressed. There is also pain in the center of my back, right on my spine, which had nothing to do (supposedly) with either the tuck or the lipo. Can't get any answers from my surgeon, other than "give it time"....so, I guess I now will have to wait months and if this has not cleared by the end of summer - I will be seeking an MRI with my primary to see what is going on.

Dr. Perez is pretty well known, He teaches internationally and has been on GMA, featured in USA Today and has been a media darling for years as a result of his work and reputation, so I thought, this is as good as it gets in choosing a doctor.
