Tummy Tuck: Stories

I am 38 years old.I have 2 kids one 14 and one 4.Big age difference.The Dr.s thought I would never conceive.I proved them wrong!!!!haha.As much as I love my children,pregnancy was cruel to my belly!!I have stretch marks and loose skin.i have hated my ugly tummy for a while now.I am finished having kids and knocking on 40's door.I am not ready to trade in my bikini for a whole piece !!!I decided to go for the TT.I met with my ps and decided that a full Tummy Tuck ,Lipo and repairing my stomach muscles was the best choice for me.I am scheduled on May 25.I am so excited!!I am also nervous.Reading all of your stories and tips really have made me feel a lot better.My main concern is the scar.I just hope mine is low enough so I can strut around in my bikini.My mhusband (of 17 years) and I hope to go to Mexico soon and I want to feel confident about my body and be all relaxed.This is still so surreal to me that I am actually getting this done!!!!

I am getting very excited about my surgery.10 days to go.I seem to have all my supplies together.Now,its a waiting game.I posted my before pics.Gross,i know.But,i know a flat ,stretchmark free tummy is around the bend!!thank you to the ladies who have been writing me.It makes this journey so much easier knowing others are going through it with you!

O.k.,so I am laying in bed and all I can seem to think about is this surgery!I am excited but still nervous.I can't imagine how awesome it will be not having to suck my gut in all the time.And above all BIKINI....I can't wait to put it on proudly and walk around with no worries...I may just never take it off the rest of the summer!!!hahahahahI have increased my exercise and watched my eating.I have lost 7 pounds since my initial consult with the ps..that was on May1st.I hope I can turn off my brain and rest tonight!!!I am sure you ladies with surgeries coming up in the next few weeks are in the same boat!

I went out shopping today.I only have one week till TT!!!i was in Marshall's and went past the bikinis...then I turned around,went back and looked and ended up buying 2 bikinis!!!!!!they are super sexy..I tried them on and looked in the mirror...holding my belly in with my hand.....and pulled my belly skin flat!!woooo hoooo.i can't wait to get rid of this growth!!!!

I went out and purchased a toilet extender.raises toilet seat 5 1/2 inches.So getting up and down off the toilet is easier.I sent my mom a picture of this thing ,making a joke about it and she says..."you will never guess what your daddy is doing?"...I was like...no telling..she replies.." we went out and bought a brand new TALLER toilet just for you.O.k....I don't live with my mother,I live 2 1/2 hrs from her.My PS is closer to her house,so I am staying with her for the first 5 days.Gotta love your momma and daddy.No matter how old you get...you are still their baby.So glad they support me and understand why I am doing this!!!!.....7 days!!!!!!

I am so confused.Got a call today from the nurse at my ps office.I had several questions for her.I asked about the binder .I was wondering if I should order one or do they provide one.She answered..the ps only uses binders in certain cases.He does not like them because the tightness cann pull on the scar and make it larger.She also said it makes no difference in the final result.It does help with support but they will talk to me of other ways to feel more comfortable walking and such.I am STILL very confused.How come every person I know of who has had LIPO AND TT have a binder or garment???HELP

O.k. So I suddenly came down with a sore throat....NOOOOO...I can't get sick now with 6 days till surgery.I pray this in only allergies .I was be soooooo upset if I have to reschedule.yall pray I get well.

my sorethroat so so much better today.No more symptoms.Thanks for your prayers ladies!!!!5 days to go.We went out for breakfast this morning and on the ride back I was thinking...WOW...soon I won't have to sit her a br grossed out by my reflection in the passenger side window by my giggling gut all hanging over my pants!!!!!!!!

good news...sorethroat is almost gone.ILooks like I am gonna be good to go for my surgery this Friday.I went today and finished getting after care supplies .I got a wedge memory foam pillow.I also bought several extra pillows.I also bought several cotton dresses ...comfy stuff.I just hope this week flies by!!!

3 days to go.Today,I am packing my bags ,doing last minute deep cleaning ion the house.Finishing up my freezer meals and counting the seconds!!!!I will be leaving early Thursday morning to head to my moms.I am getting my hair colored Thursday afternoon.Surgery should be at 7:45 Friday morning.ps said to call Thursday for exact time....getting ready to say GOODBYE UGLY BELLY....

I am getting so worries right now.The sorethroat I had Fridaynis gone but now I have a cough.I am bringing stuff up...I don't even feel bad.No fever.Guess I need to call ps in the morning.I took some Mucinex .I need to tell them what I took and see if they will do the surgery with the cough.Guess that is up to Anesthesiologist.I got 2 full days to get well.yall pray for me please.

Justo got off the phone with ps.He is awesome.he talked to me for 20 minutes.He is gonna call in antibiotics.says surgery shou
D be fine unless I get any worse!!fingers crossed!!!!!

Ps called in a z pak...this should make me all better by Friday morning..I am sooo excited!!!!!I will be leaving early in the morning to head to momma's house.Getting my roots done..then Friday morning will be my day Finally!!!!

Today is day 4 po.Surgery went very well.Did great with anesthesia,no nausea or vomiting!!!stayed in recovery about 45 minutes then was sent home.Went to my mothers house till today.Went to see ps 1 day po and was placed in hyperbaric chamber for one hour.This is supposed to aid in healing tissues .
the first day po was not too bad..slept a lot ..had a lot of pressure.ps did not send me home with drains or a binder.said I did not need them.My Lipo wounds needed the dressings changed every 2 hrs.I am kind of disappointed because I still have more stretch marks than I thought I would have.ps said I didn't have enough loose skin to pull to get them.Also I still have my belly button no new one!!!!!

day 2 was the worst day.alot of swelling and pain.I did make myself get up and walk around.The raised potty chair was awesome!!!

Day 3 was better.had a lot of heartburn..but I got through it.My swelling is a lot worse but ps still says no binder needed.

Day4 po good day.had to see ps surgeon again today.He said all looks good.He did get all over me for using ice.He said NO ice.Ice restricts blood flow to the tissues!I didn't know...I feel like crying right now.I am not happy with my results.I know it will get better .But,I just feel so depressed about it.I am so darn swollen from Lipo as well.i need to give it time..but after seeing a lot of your pics,y'all look great immediately!!!!I am gonna try and be positive about it and wait it out.Hope you ladies are all doing well.i will try and post pics soon

Day 5 po.feeling pretty good today.walked a lot ,swelling is getting some better.i tried on bikini bottoms and they cover the scar perfectly.Feeling more positive today.I still havent gone number 2!!i am taking stool softeners..I am gonna drink some tea.That usually helpsMy incision looks great!!Alot less pressure when getting out of bed and up from chairs.I took a shower today.Felt wonderful.I am really watching my diet ,keeping it low sodium.Eating lots of fruits and veggies.Hopefully things are gonna just get better from this point on!!!love you guys!!!!!!

I am 5 months po tummy tuck with lipo.I haven't updated in a while so I thought I would check in.
what a difference time makes.A few months ago,I would have never believed that I would feel and look this great!!!!Just remember ladies,when you first have your surgery done,it is really a huge emotional rollercoaster!!It was awful for me.I thought I had made a huge mistake because all the swelling made me look so deformed at times.I never thought I would look normal again.It DOES get better.Listen to your surgeon when they say give it time.
I am back to running and doing any kind of excercise and activities I want.I have lost a little over 30 pounds.I feel amazing.Clothes shopping is so fun and I love how things fit my new body.My husband absolutely loves my newfound attitude about myself and he loves my body.I actually let him rub my belly now.Before it was " off limits".
I just hope all of you are doing well and whatever point you are in your journey,I wish the best for you:))))
