I look forward to reading your posts as you go through your process.  Please let us know if you have any questions at all.  You will find excellent resources on the site.

You will do wonderful and the 22nd will b here before you know it.

Hi Kimmers. Thankyou for your reply. You have made me feel so much better about myself. I have felt so guilty about this, but decided to bite the bullet. The money aspect does not worry me. I struggled to bring up my children on my own, paid my mortgage, and worked hard doing 3 jobs to keep us all. I used to dream of one day being able to afford to have a tummy tuck, but didn't think tha day would come. But now things are different for me, and i have recently married my long term partner. Now it's time to bite the bullet.!!. I will keep u posted. x

Yes it is now your time!   You have been an excellent mother all on your own, done a fine job and now is the time for you and only you!

You just power ahead, keep you chin up and be proud of what you are about to do for yourself.  This will give you a big boost of confidence in the end.

We are all here to help you through the process.

Hi there,

Thanks so much for starting your story on RealSelf. We're looking forward to reading more of your posts as your journey unfolds. Will you elaborate a little more on why you've always wanted a tummy tuck?

Check out Kimmers' Month-by-month tummy tuck diary. It's a great read!

Hi there, and thankyou so much for your comments. I have allways tried to keep my weight down, which has taken a lot of hard work and discipline, but have allways had this huge lump of flesh in my lower abdomen, which is NEVER gonna shift, whatever i do. It prevents me from doing so much, and wearing the kind of clothes i want to wear. I have recently married to my long term partner, and he is totally behind my decision, although he is happy with me as i am. I feel that this op will massively enhance our already great marriage. Can't wait!!.

Hi England,

The stairs are tough the first three days.  You may want to stay on the same level as the bathroom to start.

Test it out and see how you feel doing the stairs but my guess is that you will want to be close to the bathroom.
46ky 11 Jan 2011
England, also about the stairs. My Dr. said the physical part of climbing is based on how you feel, but his concern is falling because of the pain meds and you could become light headed. So be very careful when you do use them and have someone with you at first. I'm excited for you!
england4642 11 Jan 2011
thankyou very much for the advice. it helps me so much, xx

Best of luck to you! I'm having a TT on the 19th...just a few days before you.
england4642 12 Jan 2011
all the very best of luck to you. i hope you are as excited as me. i had my pre op appointment yesterday, and all seems to be in order. i will be thinking of you, xxxx good luck!!!!
Gracey 16 Jan 2011
England, I am sure you are getting excited. I am 5 weeks PO tomorrow and am so glad I had my TT. Trust you will do great!
england4642 17 Jan 2011
ooohhh thankyou very much. i'm so glad that you are doin well!!. can't wait now!!!.
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 17 Jan 2011

I think the puffy eyes come from a combination of the fluids, laying around and just feeling like poopy.
england4642 25 Jan 2011
Hya ladies. 3 days post op, and feeling fantastic. i can't believe the results already, and though uncomfortable, don't have much pain at all!. my drains were removed at the hospital after 1 day, so i don't have to deal with those. still feeling very tight, so can't straighten up, but on the whole, very very happy!!!...
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 25 Jan 2011

Hurray!  Glad you are coming along so well!  Get your rest and take it very slow for a while.  Wow drains out after one day; how nice is that!!

Keep us up to date on your progress!
Gracey 25 Jan 2011
England - so happy for u! Can't wait to see photos.
england4642 26 Jan 2011
hya, continuing to feel well. backach seems to be the biggest problem, but manageable. still a little bit of swelling, but i'm doin as i am told, and keeping my corset on 23 hours a day, and watching my salt intake. really have a diminished appetite, it seems i get full up really easily.
on the whole, feeling fab!!.
