This was SO very worth it! The removal of the drains was the most painful part so far. I started back to work on Monday and it was tough. I felt very drained at the end of the day but I would sleep as soon as I got home and showered and I would be ok for the next day. I still haven't taken any of the pain medication that I was prescribed and I'm going to try to keep it that way.

Congratulations!!! If you think it's worth it now; just wait until you are 3 months out. I feel so grateful for this surgery and having been approved through insurance. This site is an opportunity to reach out to others about how we feel and what our experiences are. Keep up the good work. You will feel better and better each day. At the four week mark is a big difference in the appearance and how you will feel.

Surgery was a success and thus far the healing process has been relatively painless; I was a little surprised (pleasantly). My PS removed 650 from the right side and 550 from the left side, with a "good amount" of Lipo on the sides (according to the PS). I am not too sure if there is swelling or if this is the final size, but I would guesstimate that I am around a DD cup. He used a vertical incision also known as a lollipop. I have drains which are scheduled to be removed on Wednesday.
Side note: During my preop marking appointment the PS said. " Geesh your breast are very heavy" to which I dryly replied, "I'm aware" Thankfully, he has a sense of humor and laughed staying "Well, yes. I guess you WOULD know" LoL!
What I can say stands out the most to me post op is the IMMEDIATE relief I felt in my neck, back, and shoulders when I woke up from anesthesia. Also, how much easier it was for me to breathe and stand up straight. The difference has been life altering!
As of right now, my concerns are the bottom of my breast bear a striking resemblance to saggy old man balls (sorry for the less than stellar visual) along the incision, and the fact that my left breast looks slightly larger to me. I will give it time and try to be patient. I asked about driving at my postop appointment and I was told that as long as I am not on narcotics, I should be ok....this seems a little questionable to me. I didn't take ANY of the pain meds (and still haven't) but I'm not sure I was ready to drive in the first few days. That being said, I am going to attempt to return to work tomorrow, fingers crossed!
I'll post my post op pics soon.

Merry Christmas to me! I received an approval from the appeal I submitted when my claim was denied. I sent the paperwork from the chiropractor, my regular doctor, all of the receipts from past bra purchases, and a detailed explanation of how the size/weight of my breasts hinder me on a daily basis and the way it negatively impacts my quality of life. Thank goodness they approved! I am only 6 days away from less back pain.
