Hi, So I've been lurking on this website for...

Hi,

So I've been lurking on this website for months now! Trying to get info and decide if this is really what I want to do and if it would be worth it! And from all the info I've gathered I've decided to go ahead and do it.

I am 34 and have two girls one 16 and one 6 years old. I had my daughter when I was 17 and my parents weren't too happy so weren't too supportive. I thought to be healthy I should be eating for two and I didn't think working out was good. So I quit working out and gained 60 lbs with her! Also gained a ton of stretchmarks with her. I have hated my tummy ever since but wanted to wait till after I was done having children.

I have the support of my husband and my daughter but none from my family. They think I'm taking the easy way out and won't help me with the recovery process. My husband works out of town and can only be home for a week after my surgery after that my oldest daughter said she'd help me. I'm nervous about the recovery process especially since I don't have much support from my family.

At first I planned to do the whole mommy makeover but now I'm thinking I'll just go for the tummy tuck and in a couple years maybe do a breast lift. My PS suggest I do the lipo of the flanks to but it's an extra $3500 so my husband said no. But I'm worried that I won't be happy and have to go back and get them done. Also with my husband is only able to take off one week I'm worried that if I do the whole mommy make over I'll be in even more pain and recover slower. He thinks if we break up the surgeries then I'll recover faster, not sure if that's true...

I keep coming on to this website for reassurance that this is really what I want to do! The before and after photos from everyone really helps me but on the other hand then I start thinking maybe I should quit being so cheap and just do the whole mommy makeover instead of just the tummy tuck. Its just so much money! My oldest daughter and husband are 100% behind me on the tummy tuck but when I start talking about getting anything else done then they aren't as supportive. For the whole mommy makeover I've been quoted over $20,000. I've looked into going to Mexico and the after pictures look great but I'm still too nervous about the after care when I get home. There is so many positives about going away to get it done that I keep going back and forth on what I should do. Either stay with Dr. Chong and just get a tummy tuck or go to Mexico and get the whole mommy makeover. Probably in the end I wouldn't save much money going to Mexico as I would have to pay for flights and a place to stay but I like the idea of staying in a recovery house and have someone to take care of me that is familiar with whats going on with me and not having to worry about my kids.

I will be taking my husband to my next appt so he can hear what the doctor says about the recovery and hoping that my doctor will convince my husband to let me get the lipo of the flanks. Hopefully it won't scare my husband and he decide it's not worth it.

Had to change my date to April 4. But I put my deposit down! So no more changing the date. I am so excited and can't wait to be on the flat side. I decided to just get a tummy tuck with muscle repair but no lift or lipo. I am almost at my goal weight and hoping to lose 10 lbs before my surgery date. Which I think won't be too much of a problem now that I have a goal date! I've worked out hard but would always get discourage with how my tummy looked and with no amount of exercise or healthy eating being able to fix it I would lose motivation. But now I'm going to be able to workout and show off my tummy!! I use to be a competitive swimmer but quit as I looked awful in a bathing suit! So hoping next fall to get back into it:)
