I am age 56. My first BA was in 1990. I was so pleased with the results. I felt great. Looked terrific. About 6 years in I experienced capsular contracture in my left breast. In 2003 I had the first set removed and replaced, same size. Again, best decision, all went well. Now 10 yrs. later I have CC again, same breast, more painful, becoming very uncomfortable. I am ready to have them removed, just more nervous about this procedure than the last 2. My PS is very encouraging, I am very comfortable with him and his associates, that is not my concern. How will my now "older" "fuller" body look with out 36C breasts. I have seen my body with them for the last 20 yrs. Now at my age, it really does not matter if I have full breasts anymore. Any of you ladies out there experience something similar, I would love to hear from you.
Explant after 23 years and could not feel better!
I am 5 days post op today. I never had extreme pain that I could not handle. My lift was less intrusive due to the fact that I had more natural breast tissue than my PS realized, my advantage. Bruised and some swelling, and I feel so good about my decision. I look and feel healthier already. Dr. Baxter and his staff are truly the most compassionate medical team I have ever experienced. I am grateful for each and everyone that got me through the day.
