New tummy

Old tummy

Hi peeps, I am 3 days post operation...

Hi peeps,
I am 3 days post operation from my full abdominal lift (tummy tuck), I'm pretty sore I'm feel like I've done a extreme workout especially on my abs. I have a good bit of swelling but can see and result already. Dr chops can't spell his real name I can honestly say I'm very happy with result so far, very gentle and kind man. Listens to your wants and tells you what's best for you. I have had 2 c-sections and 2 large babies delivered. Before babies I was a small 12, with defined waistline, 36dd chest and had a fab figure, but after the c-sectioned could not get my tummy back to the shape it was before. After 2-3 years of thinking things through which I think you have to do I decided to see Dr Chops in transform, Edinburgh, he is polish but speaks very good English. I was very anxious but very excited about it as well, so he asked me what my concerns were and what I missed about my old body and what I wanted to achieve from surgery, so my reply was I wanted to feel sexy, confident and be able to bend without worrying my tummy was rolling over my jeans. Also I wanted to buy a new bikini for my holidays to Spain in July. I have not wore a bikini since my holidays in 2004. Too long. So Dr chops looked at my tummy and felt about my muscles around my tummy and decided that I would 100% benefit from a full abdominoplasty. So after a long hard think and deliberation, I decided to take the step and get the surgery. So I had my pre-operation on the 15th feb 2014, and operation was scheduled for the 19th feb 2014 OMG it's coming fast. So at pre-op I was asked lots of questions, blood, weight, height, photos of tummy front and side view, swabs taken for MRSA from Irene the nurse, (very nice and reassuring), the amount of my surgery was £5700, as I am getting full abdominal and muscle reconstruction. So my op was only 3 days away and the nerves and excitement were kicking in. Finally the day arrived Wednesday 19th feb 2014, going into kings park hospital stirling, must be there for 8am, so arrive at hospital not having had anything to eat from night before so hungry (could eat a scabby horse). Well get cannula put into back of hand about 10am and told to put backless nightdress on (not a flattering look lol). I'm meant to be taken at 11am but get taken 1 hr earlier, so kiss my forever patient hubby goodbye and he wishes me luck. At this point I'm terrified and very anxious, so meet my doc who's ready to sedate me. Am told the operation will take 3 hrs. So 4.5 hrs later I wake up very Dorsey and pretty sick from all the mess. Brought back to room and see gregg (hubby) am pretty sick from the anastetic. Once I come round I feel pretty good, just groggy, doc comes into to tell me operation was very successful but took a little longer as the found her is around my tummy button so I got that fixed before everything else. Drugs start to wear off and feeling rather tender but totally bearable. I have loads of wind in tummy can't stop farting, sorry. I am treated very well in the kings park and nurses all very patient and lovely. First time getting on my feet was 3 hrs after surfer and I'm not gonna lie was bloody painful trying to move from bed, dizzy and a little groggy still. Well Thursday I pretty much sleep loads due to my body being full of medication. Friday morning I'm getting home as I'm missing my hubby and 2 boys but very nervous about the journey home. I still can't do a poo and petrified to push as I feel my tummy is going to pop. So nurse gives me 2 suppositories and WOW do they work, what a relief, now I'm ready to go home. Arrive home at 10.45 and man it's good to be home, but just very nervous as I have a lot of stairs to tackle at my house. But I do it gradually and I'm fine. I invested in a back rest as I can't lie straight for a few weeks let's hope it works. Still feeling pretty shattered and sore but definelty getting better each day, and can't wait to get stitches and bandages off next 10 days. So I hope you enjoyed my post, I will post before and after pics ASAP.

Tips I wish I knew before my surgery-

1, absolutely no bending down or stretching up.
2, loads of pillows and invest in a back rest.
3, take a gentle laxative (sennokat) every night before bed as the meds you get constipate you.
4, have dry shampoo for your hair.
5, try not to laugh.
6, most importantly take all the help you can get.
