After doing my due diligence in the way of...

After doing my due diligence in the way of research for treating my flank area and by who, I finally decided to get Vaser Liposuction. I eat relatively healthy most days (not keen on extreme dieting or the guilt that comes after something deliciously deep fried and battered) and usually work out 3 - 5 days a week. I'm 6'2", 194 lbs, and wear a 32 in waist, but my flanks have always bothered me no matter my weight and seem impossible to rid. I'd like to consider my expectations realistic so that I'm not disappointed with the end result. I honestly just want a smoother over all appearance, no bulge or "muffin top". My plastic surgeon said he'd even be able to sculpt a little indentation in my lower back that runs down my spine where my pants sit (which sounds a little scary, but meh). I am scheduled for surgery this coming Friday, March 6, and figured I'd share my experience since other people's insight here has been helpful.

Day 2

So day 1 was a lot more painful than anticipated. I started off at a size 32 and am now a 38, which is normal but still uncomfortable. I took a nap as soon as I got back home and the compression garment is too short, so it rode up constricting at my thighs causing painful (7/10 scale) swelling. My advise is to request a garment that covers as much as possible, even areas that were not treated. I literally walked it off and the swelling vastly improved along with taking all my meds. So, walk walk walk to promote circulation and reduce the risk of a blood clot. I am also experiencing a little heart burn, which isn't something I'm used to. I've also been drinking a lot of water, and alkaline water at that, to expel toxins and create some sort of biological pH equilibrium. My swelling is uneven, but I will reserve my judgement after it subsides.

Dr. Rodriguez and his staff have all the credentials to properly perform my procedure. He was extremely helpful during my consultation and was very frank. I gained some more trust in him when he didn't try to push for additional surgeries or fat transfers since he believed they were not necessary and/or would not be noticeable with the amount of fat he'd take out. He is very present when you're being seen by him and very attentive. Minor hiccups with his staff, but he made sure everything was quickly corrected. Over all very happy with this experience.
