I went back to work on Tuesday - which was 5 days PO. It's been fine working, the only thing is that getting ready sucks because it requires so much extra care and finding clothes that conceal my drain tubes is hard. I work at a desk though and luckily we have a casual dress code, so I've been wearing mostly workout type pants (either stretchy or loose) and then pinning my drain bulbs to the sides of my compression binder and wearing a hoodie or loose t-shirt over that.
I've been off of vicodin since that first day of work and then was down to ibu 1-2X / day but I'm off of that as well now AND I am sleeping back in my bed and this morning I could even get myself out of bed without help! Yayyy me! Haha. I still have the flipping drain tubes in, my PS won't take them out until Wednesday which will be TWO WEEKS after my surgery was. Ugh. One of them is coming out a little and stings because it's constantly "tugging".
My incision doesn't seem to have changed much, but the ones under my boobs are healing nicely. I'm worried about my belly button too, it doesn't look like I am even going to have much of anything once it heals. When I asked my PS if it will open up a bit he said a little, and I said there's just not really much there. His response was, "Well it's going to be what it's going to be." Um, okay? I just paid $10k and am going through awful recovery because I want to LOOK better, but thanks for the reassurance. :/

My puffy tummy and incision are really bothering me :(
I'm all worried my scar is going to look horrible due to the open "puckered" skin that didn't all fit in the incision. and I'm worried I'm going to have dog ears and/or permanent puffy muffin top tummy tuck or something. I go for my day 5 post op tomorrow so hopefully he will have some positive feedback for me. I'm also up 8 lbs from before surgery. WTH?? I feel like a cow.
Other than that I am up and moving around much better. I only took a half of a vicodin and 2 ibuprofen's all day. I am going to go back to work tomorrow (I work at a desk) I feel physically fine enough to work but finding clothes that I can conceal my drain bulbs in, and that are big enough to cover all my dressings, binder etc is what I am worried about the most. Oh and getting ready in the morning is not going to be a quick process.

Your body is still healing. You will be swollen a puffy for weeks. Drink LOTS of water, wear your compression garments, and avoid salt. Think LONG-TERM. You look GREAT!

I can't see my incision yet because of the glue that I have covering it. However, after the glue fell off around my incisions from my BA I had puckering as well. I couldn't believe that it would flatten out, but it absolutely did! If you look at the photos of my BA review you can see that the puckering around my nipples (they looked like Frankenstein Nipples), totally flattened out! :) Always drink water!!! One day at a time!! You got this! Deep breaths and happy thoughts!!!

You look great. Don't step on that scale for another few weeks!! Your body is retaining fluid and totally expected to temporarily weigh more after the surgery. Keep positive you're doing great!!

I have the pucker too. I think it is just internal swelling and that it will go away. You are more swollen than I am. I tried to watch my sodium intake for the first week. I will post pics

Day 3 Post Op
Things are going pretty well, if I stay on top of my pain meds it's not too bad. I'm taking 1-2 vicodin per day and about 2 ibuprofins. I get sore if I wait too long in between. The biggest nuisance has been taking care of the wounds and drain tubes. Ugh. Can't wait til that part is over. Also, I'm all paranoid that my incision is going to rip open or something. :p
I put some pics together for comparison. The post surgery ones were taken today (3 days PO) I'm still quite swollen and bloated, so I don't like that about my incision.

You look great Kari!!! It takes months for your boobs to settle in and not be so high & tight. As someone who's boobs used to rest on my belly without a bra, enjoy it while it lasts! lol
I can go braless in certain sundresses now, but am back to needing a bra. Keep your compression garment on as long as you can! It becomes like a 2nd skin for you after a few weeks and you rely on it. It's so worth it to wear for as long as possible as it guides your fat & muscles where to settle permanently. I had lipo, not a TT, but my biggest concern was the pouch over my c-section scar. After a good 3-4 months of healing, it smoothed away and is still gone now a year later. So worth it! It's so hard to accept what you are seeing currently as your results when you expect so much better. But you have major healing going on inside & out. Try to be patient.
