10 months after explant

I wanted to post an updated pic. Still thrilled I had my implants removed. It's great to be natural again. Keep in mind I'm 50 and breastfed pre implants. The skin still pulls up when I raise my arms. I still feel thats due to the unnecessary partial capsulectomy that I allowed against my better judgement. But I can live with it and would never wish for the implants back. What really gave me strength to get through my journey was that I learned from the ladies on here that giving myself time to heal was imperitive and it could take 6-12 months. At my one week check with my dr. he said I could expect no more healing and how they were then was how they would be. I said no. I have faith and am giving myself more time (again, thanks to the stories of the ladies on here). He laughed. But that's ok because he was wrong and the ladies were right! 2 things I cannot stress enough. Pick a dr. You are comfortable with. Give yourself time to heal, you will heal. Love and best wishes to all going through the explant journey. The road might get bumpy but it ends in happiness. Be patient : ) xoxo

sorry for ranting

First of all, I really appreciate all the brave, wonderful, supportive women on this site. Secondly, I am so glad they are out. Feels great to just be me again. I recommend explant to everyone thinking about it. You don't need that poison in your body, you are beautiful the way you are. With so many drs out there with different opinions and procedures. Take your time and get more than one opinion. My personal opinion is that if your capsules are healthy and the implants intact, leave the capsules alone, your body formed them. Removal of the a healthy capsule comes with risks since it is more invasive. I understand if you have CC than they should probably be removed. I am not a dr. Thats only my personal opinion. You can see my questions and picture's if you click on my username. They look fine, after all I am 50. Lol. The distortion is only when I raise my arms but I will take it over having those bags in my body......best wishes and thank you to all of you that are so supportive to others......best wishes xo

I specifically went to Dorner because he said he...

I specifically went to Dorner because he said he would remove my implants without a capsulectomy in office. My capsules were soft and thin. No problems with implants just preferred removal. At 2nd consult he wanted to remove some of the capsule "to prevent fluid buildup". I said I prefer not. He drew a picture for me and assured me the piece removed would be dime sized. During surgery he removed 1/3 of the capsule which caused alot of bleeding and put me at more risk. This affected the aesthetic result in that everytime I raise my arms the skin in the area where he removed the capsule pulls upward. I emailed him about my concern and asked to move my appointment up. His response was...it wasn't his fault, nothing could be done and no need to change the appointment...without seeing me. My incision also became infected right after surgery. I called him on the phone and he saw me days later. My photos are shown in the questions to other Dr's I posted. I feel he put me at risk by removing part of a healthy capsule unnecessarily and when I was assured he performed breast implant removals in office without capsulectomy. I would have preferred he listened to what I wanted and if he disagreed sent me elsewhere. Too bad I can't turn back time but for the rest of you I would not go to him or at the very least get another opinion. I didnt expect perfect with breast implant removal but this distortion can only be the result of removing part of a healthy capsule without considering muscle or skin attachment to that capsule.

I found his personality to be almost nonexistant. Was very dismayed by his concern before, during and after the procedure. He does a great deal of advertising and many membersips mentioned in his advertising can be purchased. It can fool a person though.
