Against my advice, my mother went for what she thought would be a "slight face lift" at age 63. She wanted to remove the jowls, tighten skin at the neck and a few wrinkles around the eyes - nothing major we thought.

Anyway, she hears about this life lift and just goes to Manhattan, and schedules a procedure. She decided to "just go do it".

Well, I can't begin to tell you the nightmares that have since followed. 2 days after the surgery, we had to take her to the emergency room in the middle of the night. Her pain was so severe, she felt that she would pass out. The doctor in the ER said she had a major infection going on that he believed was caused during the surgery, and the ensuing stitches.

So I know that can happen some time after surgery. She was put on massive antibiotics and finally the infection cleared up. Her face was bruised for weeks,
the jowly area was still jowly, and the wrinkes she had around her eyes looked worse than before.

We are considering taking legal action against these people. Please - if you know someone who is planning on going there, or if it is you yourself, do plenty of research before signing on that dotted line and giving them any money. I think they are dangerous.

Yes you are right to want to take action, I have been waiting now for 2 years to hear that someone wants to take action, I had channel 5 news contacting me a few a year ago but they wanted me to go on TV, I would have if other people did it too. No one knows except my best friends that I had it done in NYC just like you. I look just the same way I did now as when I went in. These people are not cheap and what we have to show for mow is NOTHING!!! I sure could use the $ 4500.00 now I can tell you that. Hope this helps.

We have contacted a lawyer on my mother's behalf. We are in the process of collecting photos, information from the ER where we had to take her because of infection, and all pertinent documents. We fully intend to pursue this "assembly line surgery" that this place does. Lawyer assures us that we will get out money back, and have this place investigated. Please go ahead and do the same. Pursue your claim against these people!!

How do I join a law suit against Lifestyle Lift? The credit company (GE CareCredit) already placed a negative report on me because I stopped paying them because of the very bad result that I received from my Lifestyle Lift procedure.

GET A LAWYER!! My mother doesnt want to be part of group lawsuit, quite frankly, she is embarrassed by the whole episode. She still has problems due to the surgery and she feels that she was vulnerable to their commercials thinking she could look younger. Instead, she has scarring and 2 months later, she looks worse than before she went in. We have a private lawyer who is collecting information and will then start legal action against them for poor quality surgery and a multitude of other practices.

I will get an attorney, if after my long trip to Houston this week, post surgery 8 months if lsl doesn't treat me with respect and expects me to pay anything for the corrections I need. and if not all goes well, I will proceed to embarrass these people on a national level. pamejame yahoo com is my mailing.

I have spoken with the Lifestyle lift patient care representatives directly & found it very effective. Their number is 800-940-9951. Have you tried this option? They will take you seriously.

I put down $500,but I have not had it yet because of health issues. Now, I don't know what to do. This all sounds very scary. By the way, if I follow through my surgery will cost around $7,500. Why the $2,500 difference I wonder.

The price difference may be because you were having more work done that my mom did. Also, she only had to put down $400.00 (maybe their prices went up to pay for the upcoming lawsuits!!) Please re-think this before you go there. You will probably have a hard time getting your deposit back though.

That's right ladies and gents! Read the print and believe US! I have pictures posted on my area about how I looked better BEFORE I had the LSL. After the LSL I had more wrinkles around my eyes and my mouth and the scars!!!! Believe it. Spend the few extra dollars and find a real doctor with real credentials.

POST-SURGICAL INFECTION : Yes, I placed several calls to the LSL office that I went to in VA post-op to report pain, excessive swelling and heat, only to be told each time it was "NORMAL". When I went in a week later for stitch removal the doctor did the removal himself because I had CELLULITIS! So very scary. I have heard so many stories of infection following this procedure it surely begs the question - Are they following any type of 'standard of care' during their procedure? This is too frequent an occurence for ANY surgical procedure - whether in a hospital or elsewhere.

Thank goodness for this site. I appreciate all the comments. I was thinking about having this procedure but there is no way I will do it now. It looks so simple on the infomercial.

I want to thank you for your post. I was planning to have this procedure done in July including the eyelift. After reading your comments I plan to cancel. If I do anything I will go to a cosmetic surgeon to have a mini lift and upper blepharoplasty. I might have to pay a little more but I think if your planning to undergo any type of cosmetic procedure you probably don't want skimp on expensive. I firmly believe you get what you pay for at least 95% of the time. I am a nurse. I have worked many years in post operative recovery rooms. So I am not completely unaware of things that can go wrong during a procedure.I recently went to my interview (a couple days ago). When I got home and started thinking about how invasive this procedure really is and the fact that they want to preform it without any type of anesthesia except a local (lidocaine) and a valium acompanied by a tylenol PM. I doesn't sound like a day at the beach to me! This means that most likely there is no anesthesiologist on the premises.I have seen A lot of things happen in the OR and when the s#@t hits the fan, it's the anesthesiologists that intervines. I imagine this is a major savings to the LSL people. They played a DVD that basically had a line of bull a mile long about why they don't use general anesthesia. Let me tell you... I personally want to be completely knocked out for any type of cutting of my flesh. General anesthesia is not even necessary. An anesthesiologist can administer what is known as MAC of TIVA it is usually a mixture of a couple of drugs ie...versed and diprovan. If you've ever had a colonoscopy you were probably done under MAC anesthesia. I also told the physicain who assesed me that I experience adverse reactions to lidocaine that contains epinephrine. It effects my heart. He explained how it was necessary to control bleeding and that many people experience the sensations I had described. Only after I told him that I knew of a woman that had gone into cardiac arrest and died after being administered lidocaine at a dentist office he suggested I get clearance from my medical doctor. I have a really conscientious doc and I doubt he would clear me. After all... why would he want to get involved. If something was to go wrong where would the liabilty lie? I am so glad I looked up your comments. After reading them, I am 100% sure this is something I am at all interested in. I hope you can find a resolution to the difficulties caused by the LSL.

I just heard of LSL this morning on an infomercial. It sounded so good and while I have never even considered any kind of plastic surgery, this one I was considering. After reading the posts, no way. I'll just age gracefully. Some of the "work" I've seen is hideous. Sounds like this one is more of the same. Thanks everyone!
Chrystal Eckes (RealFriend) 3 Jun 2009
Earth Girl, why would you even consider letting LSL touch you again??? Demand your money back and go somewhere else. If you paid with Care Credit, I have first hand information that if you gather all of your photos showing the difference or lack there of, Care Credit will work with you on getting your money back and refunding the monies paid to date. Best of luck to you. Chrystal.
