First massage back home

I had my first lymphatic massage back home yesterday. I found a lady online that has been doing them for over 19 years. So I got my ass dressed and got on the train. Felt super weak but managed it ok. The massage was very different to the ones I got in DR, this lady barely touched me lol she was mostly gently touching some pressure points. What was really nice to hear is that she believes my DR have duke a great job and that I'm healing really well for being 2 weeks post op. She's performed massages in lipo patients for a long time so to hear that made me feel very calm. I had emailed her b4 making the appointment to make sure that she would be able to help me put on the faja since I would be going alone, but hear this: she was too weak to do it by herself. I knew my faja is a tuff one but come on. She was really trying, sweating and all but had to go get the receptionist in the end. Together, they managed lol

Reality check when you get home

I got home 3 days ago and it has been a harsh reality check. I had never understood when planning to have this surgery how much help I would need when I get home. I had read that I need to wear a compression garment for at least 6 weeks, I though fine, not a problem, never in my wildest dream did it occur to me that there is no way I can put on the garment on my own. The garment needs to be super tight, almost squeezing the life out of u. To achieve this level of tighness it means that you can't (at least I can't) close the hooks in the front of the garment on my own. It takes someone strong lol to do it for you, using all their energy to close it up (even the nurses at the recovery house were sweating when doing this). Meaning, everytime you need to go to the toilet (nr 2) or shower, you need someone who can help you with this. For 6 weeks! Also, I cant bend properly in this thing, so any activity that requires me bending is strictly out the question atm.
Also, choosing to have the surgery out of town has one big draw back. You don't really have any doctor you can go see that can help you with your healing. I've never had surgery before so naturally I have a ton of questions, is my skin healing properly, is the scar suppose to look like that, how should I use the lipo foam in the best way etc etc etc. This is why I'm planning to contact a local ps to help with my questions/concers during healing. Beacause the post op healing process is super important and will determine your final results, so I don't wan take a chance and just go on my gut instinct.
The hardest part of all is the fact that you have to lie on your stomach at all times. Even using a boppy pillow for more than a few minutes hurts my bum and I feel like I'm squeezing the transfered fat cells (big no no), so stomach it is. Which is killing my lower back and neck. I'm thankful that I can work from home for another week before having to head back to the office. I still have no clue what to do if I have to go for a nr 2 at the office (no way I can close the faja on my own).
It has also been an emotional roller coaster. I've lipod my arms as well which makes me having to wear the arm compressions, no outfits looks good with the faja under and arm compressions sticking out. So at the moment, I'm just lurking around the house switching between standing up and laying on my stomach. My faja is also not covering my armpit part, which means I have a this tight garment on all the way to under the armpits, and all the fat is hanging out on top. So when I wear t-shirts, it looks like I have 4 boobs. I've been told to buy a tight sports bra with good coverage in the armpit area to help this (going shopping today). So I hope that I will find something to make me look at least half human in clothes.
I'm also starting my first massage in london today. I found a lady online that performs these type of massages so I will buy a pack of 5 if I'm happy with her work today. Sorry for all the negativity but I wish I had knows some of these things when planning for the surgery, now I feel like I'm a burden to some people that have to step in and help me, wish I had cleared this with them before going.

Daisys recovery house review

I chose to stay at Daisys recovery house after reading some positive reviews online. I had also read that she was from nyc which was comforting since I knew that her english would be spot on. When I arrived in DR Daisy had her driver pick me up at the airport. He handed me his phone in the car and it was Daisy on the other end welcoming me. When we got to the house she was there waiting. She is super warm, friendly and an overall doll. Felt like an old friend. Which is so nice since you're going to be away from home and away from all things familiar.
I had paid for a private room which had everything I needed. Daisys staff is great, specially her two nurses Maylene and Leena (not sure about the spelling). They helped me with everything and it was evident that they truly enjoyed their work. You can tell when someone takes pride in what they do and enjoys helping people, it shows. Maylene became my dominican angel, stroking my hair when I had emotional meltdowns and was there every step of the way in my recovery. I truly felt like I was staying with family, which is priceless.
Daisy made it clear that if I had any particular food requests I should just let them know and they would try to accomadate to the best of their ability. She made sure she took me to the supermarket before my surgery to get the supplies I needed, such as tons of water, snacks, etc. So I was all set up in my room. I paid $50 extra and had her nurse Maylene stay with me the night of surgery, it was sooooo needed. She helped me with everything! Getting my phone, feeding me, everything! My hemo had dropped a lot during surgery so Daisy made sure the girls at the house made me a black bean drink to help boost my hemo when I got back.
The house itself is beautiful with a big wodden terrace where most girls chose to have their dinners. There is a slight problem with the water supply in the house and I know Daisy is looking to move to a different house very soon. One with seaviews perhaps she said, which would be amazing during recovery. She had her driver take me for all my errands at CIPLA, at the faja store and the tailors. The nurses called the pharmacy and arranged for all the medicins to be delivered to the house. The last few days in DR Daisy arranged for a private driver to take me, two of the other girls and her and Maylene to Boca Chica (the beach in Santo Domingo), so we could enjoy some fresh sea breeze and try the local fried fish and fresh pina coladas, which were sooooo tasty. It was amazing getting out the house and feeling a bit normal for a change. I highly recommend her recovery house and truly wish her the best. To Maylene, there are no words to describe how much you helped me...I will never forget you!
