WORTH IT
Well, I'm 9 days out of surgery. I love my perky new boobs! I was a bit disappointed that they are seeming a bit bigger than I wanted (I wanted a C, we settled on a C/D, and they are def a D), but they are so high and perky and I feel like I have a different figure! I feel free. I always felt that my breasts were the first thing to come into a room, the first thing people saw when they met me. My husbands friends would stare at them. People I didn't know would stare. I hated being in bathing suits. I can't believe how different and slim my torso looks now! I'm on Day Nine and the pain sucks. It seems to be getting worse with each day, not better. The incisions on the bottom of the breast hurt the most. The biggest pain/problem has been with the bras. The surgical bras are SO TERRIBLE and press so hard on the incisions underneath the breast. I talked to the dr about it, and they gave me another bra, but this one also pushes on the incisions. It gets so bad that I feel like my ribs are collapsing. I think I have an extremely wide back, and the bras just aren't fitting. They are digging and my incisions are so sore all day long. I would love to go without the bras for awhile, but I know that compression is important. I went to Walmart to try and find a sports bra that would work and ended up in tears in the dressing room because none of the bras would really fit, even after my reduction, which was so upsetting! I am still a 46, and though my cup size is dramatically different, it was hard not finding a bra that worked (Also I was so tired and sore and feeling nauseated.) Does anyone have any recommendations for this? Why are surgical bras not made where the band doesn't hit the incision?? Is this just me? Is everyone else sore there all day and night as well? Is it normal that my breasts are seemingly more swollen now that a week ago?

Have an Infection in the Left Breast, totally freaking out
anchorsaway1September 1, 2015
So, I went into the dr yesterday to get my surigcal tape off (which ps, didn't hurt one bit!) and my left breast has an open wound and a small infection. I was so upset. I feel like the recovery has been harder the last week than it was the first week - perhaps the lack of vicodin? - and to hear that made me feel like I am moving backwards, not forward. The dr and the nurse (who I loved) were reassuring that this was not uncommon, and taped up the wound and I have another appt Thursday. The nurse said to me "Take a shower, use soap and water, bandage it up with what we are giving you and then go about your day. It's all you can do." It's seeping yellow and brownish on the bandages. I keep thinking this is my fault. There have been a couple of hours here and there where I didn't wear a bra and I'm wondering if it stretched the wound? The bras are contuining to dig into my side, and I'm hoping I can find a solution to that soon. (I ordered a Genie bra online, we'll see how that goes.) Has anyone else had this? How fast did it heal?

Healing and Relieved, Feeling Like Myself Again
anchorsaway1September 7, 2015
So glad to report that the wounds are healing. They went from being the size of a quarter to the size of a dime, and they are leaking less and less every day. I don't have to wear the huge gauze pad on my right side anymore, in fact my right side is doing just dandy. Way to go right breast! I have been sleeping sort of on my side (With a pillow cradeling my breast.), so I have been sleeping much better. I'm still sore all the time, but I'm moving normally, and my toddler has been able to snuggle with me again, which has been the best thing in the world.

Oops, I forgot to add that I have been using essential oils to aid the healing and that has worked GREAT. Melaluca, Lavender, Purification and Thieves around the wounds and diffused.
