It actually happened... on February 14th 2011, I had a Breast Reduction and Tummy Tuck with muscle tightening. I had the best Surgeon in Delaware. He is a great surgeon very calm and has a really great personality. A little history about me…I am a 29 years old mother of two beautiful girls Ages 5 and 2. After I got married and started having children, I gained a TON of weight. I would gain then lose then gain again…but I would always be left with little legs little arms, big belly and huge breasts. After having my Second daughter I spoke to my doctor and explained my desire for breast reduction…(40DD ½) LOL … I got approved through my Insurance but fought with the reality that after the reduction I would still have a protruding belly so I decided to pay for my tummy tuck.

I am an avid reader of Real Self. I have read so many other reviews and I am inspired by the stories that I have read. I want to thank you all for the great tips y’all gave. I plan to continue loosing weight now that I had my surgery because it was really hard to exercise and have too balls and a tire jumping in front of me :)

Thanks to my two wonderful friends for their recommendations to Dr. S. He exceeded my expectations!!! I can truly say that I’m ecstatic with my results, as Painful as it was I would do it again in a heartbeat!

So a little update: Woke up from surgery at 12: 43 pm on 2/14/11 pain free and nausea free. That night nurses made we walk to my chair in my hospital room (Very painful).

Day 1: Got up with no help walked to the bathroom and urinated no help just the nurse walking behind me. Also got released from the hospital at 11: 55 Am

First night at home was not bad at all felt a little pain so called the doctor to see if I could up my meds. I was taking Dilaudid must have taken too many too soon started slurring words and got itchy skin. Well doctor reduced me to 1 every 4-6 hours but I did not need it so often.

Day 2: just taking 1 pain pill once at night not feeling any pain just discomfort where drains enter my skin and breast felt like a piece of brick on my chest. Also I started taking stool softener twice a day. Washing up by myself, Doctor said ok to take a shower but did not feel like I wanted to.

Day 3 and 4: very mild pain…only took 1 pain pill before bed. Emptying my drains by myself from the day I got home. I took my fist shower on Day 3 with the help of my friend who is an RN so that was a breeze.

Day 5: Had my first BM today oh I was really happy…this was with the help of Orange Juice with Pulp, Sooth move Tea, stool softener … I’m feeling real good.

Any questions don’t hesitate to shoot me a message.

Day 6,7,8,9 & 10: Pretty much the same, no pain, not taking any pain pills just the 1 aspirin a day that my doctor recommends. On day 8th, I went for my first follow up DR. did not remove drains said it was too early. He said I look great he showed me some before pictures and stated that I looked like a different person…Yeah!!! He even said bye slim… I was supper excited! Still have some swelling but its improving…

Day 11,12,13,14 & 15: Everything still going smoothly. I had Dr. Appointment on day 14th; he said everything is healing nicely. Drains were also removed. Still not walking 100% straight but I’m almost there. Since the drains got removed I feel much better, am able to do more they were a little hard to work around. I am very happy with my results, super happy. I will post new pics at 3 week mark.

Ok I’m 3 weeks post-op; everything is going great, just a lot of swelling but am cool with it. I still have 2 more weeks before I go back to work. I will have another post-op meeting on the 10th so am excited to see what my PS has to say. I also returned to sleeping in my bed, not too comfortable but hey I think its time for that hospital bed to go back! I’m in love with my new boobs; the tummy too…I am just real happy and hope to continue having a great recovery!

I’m 4 weeks post-op today; everything is still going great. However, I am just getting over a terrible cold, I just felt awful! Coughing, sneezing you name it. Well I had my post-op on the 10th. PS says everything looks great. I will post new pics soon, just trying to get better right now. Well is it just me but I’m kind of fed up with the swelling….flat in the morning and balloon belly by evening…oh well still looks 100 % better that before. I am getting bored also can’t wait to go back to work on the 21st…

Got my tubal ligation done on 6/10/11. I feel so complete. It took way longer than usual, my Doctor said what normally takes her 15 minutes took 1 hr. She stated that my tummy wall was too tight and it was difficult to blow up my belly with the gas. Anyways glad everything went well!!!

WOW! You look terrific.

While I have never been really big (I lost 33 lbs) I have the same problem. When I gain weight it goes right to my stomach - wish some of it would have went to my boobs- But my arms and legs always stay small. Makes you feel unproportioned. I am about 2 1/2 months post op from a TT, breast aug and lift. I am feeling great and mostly back to normal. Congrats on doing this for you!

Thank you for your kind words... do you still have swelling? i hope you continue to have a great recovery!
Baby Blues 19 Feb 2011
Not much swelling anymore. The PS says I have some but I can't imagine being much smaller. I have not gone to get new pants yet but I am sure I will be about a size 2. I was a size 4 and they are all so big. I had 2 lbs. taken off my tummy. I had tried to exercise it away but never could do it.

You already look great!  Don't you just  love the perky boobs now.  I got so sick of mine hanging on my waist :)

The first time I looked at mine was in the recovery room and I was so excited that my nipples both pointed forward....and I could sit without them on my waist.  Yahoo!

Thank you...Real Self is a great site, I was so prepared in terms of knowing what to do what to buy and so on, and without this site I would have been helpless…

This site is great. I have a appt with Dr. Saunders and I feel like I already know him from reading this site.

MS 2Hot, Looks like the surgery went great for you. I am so happy that your insurance covered the breast reduction. I have a friend similar to you that has battled with very large breast. However, insurance has made her jump through hoops to get the reduced. She has yet to get it done. Did you do anything particular to get support from insurance?
MS 2HOT 22 Feb 2011
Thank you, well my doctor made me do 6 physical therapy sessions at the end of which I told my physical therapist that I needed more time so I got approved for another 6 visits. Well my therapist did not see any improvement in my pain and he along with the doctor wrote to the insurance company. I got approved at first try but then again I have Medicaid and have been told that other insurance company gives a hard time!
