Arm lipo with Dr. Chasen tomorrow. Will take an Emend capsule 2 hours prior to surgery to avoid violent nauseous reaction to anesthesia. Just wanted to help out anyone who is considering this surgery by documenting my progress. I'm 44, live in San Diego, and have had good to great experiences with plastic surgery in the past.

First day post-op, March 20, 2015 with pictures

The most painful part of the surgery was getting the little needle in my hand to start the IV for anesthesia. I was out cold until my mom came to get me. I had ace bandages wrapped around my arms from the shoulder down to the fingers. I looked like Frankenstein's monster. The worst part thereafter was struggling to pee. It took hours to get anything going, then I had to pee every 20 minutes. I highly recommend getting a prescription for a Valium or some other relaxer to help you sleep and pee. Surprisingly, there hasn't been any pain to speak of. The first day has been just been stiff and pressure. I'm still feeling the effects of anesthesia, I think. The doctor was very pleased with the results. He got out a near record level of fat, 800ccs total. That's about the equivalent to a 2 liter coke bottle. Yeah?!

2nd day post op, pictures with sleeves on

Don't know how long I'll have to wear these, but they're not that bad. They compress, but aren't suffocating. My arms do look skinnier! Knock on wood, no pain yet. Starting to come out of my stupor, so I should be able to drive tomorrow. I have another check up with the doctor on monday, so more pictures to come.

Dr. Chasen recommended traditional lipo over laser assisted because of the possibility of getting burned.
