WORTH IT$1,200
I've lost, as of this morning, 155.6 pounds. Wow. So strange to write that!!
After always having been the "cute but fat" girl, I was very excited about my weight loss! At first, just the weight loss started to make me look years younger, but then I had lost so much volume in my face, that I had huge fat bags under my eyes and my nasolabial folds were extremely pronounced. I hated that I had this new body (which will require extensive plastic surgery later, but I look pretty good with clothes on), but my face always looked old and tired. I tried every product on the market to reduce the bags under my eyes, but nothing worked.
I had gone to another doctor in an anti-aging practice (they take a holistic approach) and since I trust him, I asked his opinion on fillers. He told me that there is no evidence that they are harmful and "you gotta maintain the cute". Lol
I made an appointment for a couple weeks later with Dr. Minshew-Shurr.
Let me tell you, this woman is an artist! Beyond that, she's just super cool. The whole process took about 2 hours, but she and I were chatting the entire time, so it probably wouldn't normally take as long.
Here are my pics as of today. We did radiesse at the tops of my cheeks and threaded some into the nasolabial folds. We also did some Botox which I have not included in the cost above.
I go back in 2 days for her to check on everything, perfect any assymetry and adjust my Botox since we started low until she could see how well my body metabolized it.
I did have a tiny bit of bruising, but nothing like I've seen from other folks on here.

Round 2-Botox and Radiesse + down another 35 pounds

Well, I tried this once and it just clocked on me. I can't remember exactly what I said, but I can assure it involved Dr. M still being amazing, waiting too long for a re-do, it being cheaper this time around and probably needing a tiny touch up. Dr. Mind hew also filled a line on my upper lip that was making both of us crazy and my girlfriends loved the look so much, I may go have my lips done :). Probably not, but stranger things have happened. Anyway, here's an updated pic, 190 pounds down and that much closer to 39.

U do look beautiful. Such an inspiration. If I have it done I expect it will be close to $2,000. Expect made and hope to be surprised when it is less.

You look fabulous! I am 42 and have been working out extensively, so I've lost quite a lot of weight. The weight lost made my hereditary under eye bags and dark circles much worse (so much so that I was considering regaining so of my hard fought weight loss), so I am now considering injections. Your photos may have sealed the deal for me!

Just hady injections today and love it. Be sure u get an PS that is an artist with a syringe
I have very little swelling and no bruising. Good luck.

I felt the same way! I told my husband "great, I was fat, but looked young, now I'm thin, but look old."
I seriously love my results. I think I could use a little more filler around my nasolabial folds, but I noticed this morning that I'm starting to get loose skin under my chin, so maybe I'll think about a lower face lift instead. Lol. My husband is going to kill me!

You look fabulous to me. I can only hope my results turn out as well as yours turned out. If I lived in your area, I'd visit your doctor, but I'm located in NYC.

What do you mean it clocked on you? How long were you happy with the results after the first round? I'm looking into trying this but to spend $1200+ and only be happy for a couple weeks seems pointless ... may as well just save $$ for a proper facelift. Thanks! :)

Real Self clocked on me and wouldn't post :). It looked great for about 3 or 4 months. I just go back for touch ups now. It's hard to judge though because I'm actively losing weight in my face along with the rest of me.

Switching to Voluma
a_new_meAugust 28, 2015
I'm down another 13 pounds as of this morning which puts my weight loss at 203 pounds! Wow!! I think I lost most of it in my FACE! Lol.
Due to time constraints from my crazy job and some unrelated health issues, my Botox and Radiesse have just about run out. I've been using the Loreal Volume Filler products which really do plump up my nasolabial folds a tiny bit, but I'm ready to be re-plumped. Perhaps a tiny bit more than before. Here I am this morning - HAWT!!. I'll post another after I'm done and again in a couple days.

Why did you switch fro Radiesse to Voluma?
December 2, 2015
I was looking for more bang for my buck. The Voluma lasts a lot longer and seemed to provide more lift to pull out those nasolabial folds. I'm still happy with it. I do still use the Loreal Volume Filler products in conjunction to smooth things out a bit more.
