Surgery #2 done - Swollen but excited!

So on June 6 which was PO63 from the tummy tuck and breast lift, I went back in for arm and thigh lifts. It's been an interesting recovery. The incisions are healing SO much quicker than the TT/BL. My nurse says it's because I'm resting more (stopped fighting it) and been taking 3 servings of Whey protein per day for 3 months now. However, I've had more pain and itchiness at the incisions though my energy and overall feeling is much better that the first surgery. When I went in, they made me get on the scale and I was 5 pounds heavier than the first surgery. I'm chalking it up to still being swollen from surgery #1 plus inactive trying to heal and added the protein powder to help with healing which is about 3500 calories per week. So, knowing as soon as I get released to the gym, I'll lose some and just need to be patient with the swelling. My arms are obviously still very swollen but they look so much better and even though was "just" arms and thighs, surgery #2 has resulted in full-body swelling (two weeks ago, my feet looked like marshmallows!) so know the results will only get better from here. I am glad I did this for me. It's been a long process and have weeks before I can get back to full activity and months of swelling but it is definitely helping with my self-image and I just feel so much better about all the exercise and work I put into my body this last year! I'll post again in a month or so when swelling hopefully has improved again :)

Having lost 145 pounds, I decided to get a tummy...

Having lost 145 pounds, I decided to get a tummy tuck and breast lift. I'm at 3 weeks and still "super swollen" according to the nurse but WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!! (BTW, they took 6 pounds off my stomach...). The pain has been minimal, just having to rest lots. I'm finding the recovery a bit slower than expected, but they removed 6 pounds from my stomach so is more than the average.

Dr. Hughes put me totally at ease and was the only doctor who felt he could do the breast lift and keep me at a C/D cup (most were saying that I'd need implants). I felt like if anyone could make my body feel and look good again, it was him. I'm planning on going back shortly for a thigh and arm lift also from him :)
