The procedure itself was not very painful. The massage post procedure was absolutely 100% excruciating. I was visibly bruised and swollen. It wasn't till day 7 that the pain has become almost unbearable. I can actually see my stomach twitching. It feels as if I am being stabbed repeatedly - some pains are so intense that I can't help but moan and cry. I have tried Ice, heat, Naproxen, Spanx, Lidocaine, and now Tramadol. HOPING that it subsides soon!

Sorry you are having the pain, not fun at all. From what others have said it should be over in a few days. I did not have pain, but sympathize with those that do. Feel better!

Thank you! The majority of the pain has subsided. It is very sporadic and not as intense now. I appreciate the well wishes. It's hard for me to imagine this procedure being pain free. Wonderful to hear that it is possible.

Unfortunately, you haven't tried the most prescribed drug for this, a nerve-blocker: Neurontin. It's supposed to be taken at the 1st sign of discomfort though.
April 19, 2014
My Dr. did not want to prescribe Neurontin unless absolutely necessary. I'm allergic to codeine, so my options were limited.

Listen we should not recommend prescription medication to anyone on here. That is a Drs decision. Neurotin is a anti seizure drug that is given for neuropathy, not to be taken without consideration, please be cautious.

It does subside after about 2 weeks.... I think the nerves get damaged a little, and the pain is pretty bad. I had to take my husband's expired prescription painkiller for relief. I have never taken one before for anything. Of course, it was too strong for me, but it relieved the pain.... Doctors should really be more prepared for those that pain with this procedure.....

How long did it take for the bruising to go away? Hope you are seeing the results your after!
April 19, 2014
The bruising is just about gone. I'm still a bit numb and a tad bit swollen, but I already see results. Day 8 and 9 were the worst, but SO much better now ;)

Can I ask what office you went to? I live in the area and am trying to determine where I may want to have this done

Most definitely! Dr. Elizabeth Kinsley on Oschner Blvd. in Covington. I've been with her for a while. I was able to attend an open house where a live viewing of the procedure was offered along with a GREAT discount.

You're at the 3 month mark now. How are your results?

I am so happy that I did it! I have already recommended it to a friend that would be an ideal candidate.
