My goal was to have the improvements I've wanted...
$13,900
My goal was to have the improvements I've wanted for years before age 40, and at 37 I'm so excited (and nervous) to be realizing this HUGE goal!!
I fluctuated with weight all through my 20's, hitting my heaviest at 30. Through hard work I lost about 70 pounds and I've maintained an ideal weight for a few years and am financially able to proceed.
I'm still trying to imagine what it will be like to get rid of this excess skin, have perky and even sized breasts!
When I first started the process of finding a surgeon, one asked if I'd had barbaric surgery - that's how bad the excess skin on my tummy is. I've been carrying it around for years, and these past few weeks have been surreal as I make preparations to get rid of it!
Anyhow, surgery is in 35 days. I'll continue to update and post pics & progress. Im so thankful I stumbled upon this forum, it's already been a huge help!!

1 day pre
Surgery tomorrow!!
So, I've had all my pre surgery appointments, filled all my prescriptions, run all my errands, now I wait for today to be over.
Before today, the idea of my surgery made me kind of nauseous and I've felt a bit apprehensive at times ONLY because the surgery itself scares me. The recovery doesn't scare me so much. It's the 5.5 hours on a table. Under anesthesia.
Dr. Shah spent a great deal of time putting my recovery fears to bed, and as an RN I already know how and what to do (it's the same info I teach my patients!), but having him reassure me was a huge help. I absolutely love how patient he is - especially knowing how redundant the questions or fears are.
The recovery process is in part, under my control, however the fear of the unknown/general anesthesia is better today. Now that the day is practically here I'm just ready to get it done and start my healing!
I have taken a few pre-surgery pictures to share here, so the progress through my recovery is easier to share with you.
Thanks for reading, and I'll post an update as soon as my pain meds don't hinder my coordination or ability to make sense! :)

Post op day 1!!
I can't believe I did it! The staff at my PS's office were so wonderful & patient with all my pre surgery nervousness. I don't really remember the drive home... Or much of yesterday at all, really. My husband has been awesome, setting his timer to make sure I'm taking my pain pills every 4 hours.
So, the pain.... By taking my meds as Dr. Shah prescribed (setting the timer, taking them every 4 hr, even through the nigh) it hasn't been as bad as I expected! I started out taking 20mg percocets every 4, then by 6 am I took only 10 mg , and just took a 5 - we'll see how that works. I don't want to be playing catch up, though.
Anyhow, I'm feeling loopy, but am so glad I did it. I love sitting on the toilet and not having flap in my lap. Lol
Here's a few pics, and I'll post more after I can shower (48 hrs post op) and remove bandages.
:)
P.s. My TT was hip to hip and up & down.
