Post op day 6/7

Yesterday, post op day 6, went quite well, however I haven't yet mastered the art of "taking it easy". Between small housework and my inability to sit still for long, I need a few days in the recliner.
Anyhow, at my first post op visit, the doc says things are looking great! He informed me that I can expect this swelling to stick around for the next 6 months.....great! "This swelling" won't allow me to button up pre surgery pants! Although I have some small concerns, he said it wouldn't be worth addressing until the swelling has subsided, which I can appreciate. All things considered, I am so happy with the outcome so far!
My small concerns include my "love handles", where the incisions end there's a bit of excess skin left, perhaps warranting some liposuction. I will be patient and wait to see what the next few months reveal. I've waited this long for my TT, what's a few more months if lipo is appropriate.
Also, my pre surgery right boob was about a cup size bigger than my left, and the post op pics look as though my right is still much larger. The doc placed a 475cc in my right and upgraded during surgery the left to a 600cc (from 550).
I'm now 7 days out, still have 1 drain tube, my pain at times can be intense, and I tire quite easily, so these little concerns are really no biggie - my healing and improvement are my main focus.
So, today is post op day 7, husband is off to work, kids off to school and I fully intend on doing absolutely nothing. :)
Here's some pics from the doc visit yesterday...

4 days post op!

I started my period yesterday. Lovely timing, eh?
So, the increase in pain/cramping, my crankiness, and general miserableness all led to me going to bed EARLY. Went to bed at 8:30 after taking my evening round of meds, and with only 1 potty break through the night, I was essentially in the same position for almost 11 hours (ELEVEN). By the time I got up at 6:30 this morning, I was stiff and super, super sore. But, I managed to walk out some of the kinks and got back to feeling better by mid morning. Note to self: don't stay in same position for 11 hours straight.
My husband has been so amazingly helpful, and pre surgery I told him he would NOT see me naked until the bandages were off and I didn't look so frankensteiny. In reality, with the inability to stand straight and these pesky drain tubes, he obviously got to see me naked - he was holder of the tubes and reacher of the soap - at least until today. :)
Pre-shower I gathered all necessary items and placed them in an easy to reach corner, found a cotton belt (one that was for a shirt I probably tossed ages ago, but hung onto the belt for some reason) that I fastened loosely around my abdomen, removed my undies and sportsbra - and VOILA - clipped my tubes to the belt and showered sans husband. Wished I thought of that sooner, or even to use one of my old ID badge lanyards. On a mission to feel better, I managed to shave & not rely on my hubs, put on some cute, non-sweatpants clothes, applied some makeup and mission was accomplished. Today was a good day. :)
Anyhow, as I wrap up the end of day 4 and plan for day 5, I know that I will give myself more breaks, take my pain meds before I NEEEEEED them and remain positive. Each day keeps getting better!
P.S.
I have my first follow up on Monday - and if the bandages come off I'll share the update w/some pics.

48 hours later...

In my previous update I said I was gonna take only 1 pain pill. Bad move. It was far too soon to start weaning... It's funny how we (women) start to feel a little better and think we can take on the world, only to find ourselves knocked back a few notches. Yep, got a "told ya so dance" from my husband and my mom used her "mom voice", so needless to say, I'll follow the prescriptions and won't attempt weaning the pain pills again until at least day 3 or 4.
I really do feel much better than I expected. In fact, the pics I'm posting today were taken right before my shower, and I don't hurt any more afterwards. I was DREADING the shower, but it wasn't so bad.
Here's a tip: go commando and make sure you have realllllly baggy pants/shorts. Yoga pants won't do, and wearing undies is just useless (and irritating). Also, no need to rush out and buy button up shirts cause you have full range of motion while dressing. :) (I bought some just in case)
Oh.... I learned today (or rather, I remembered) that my boobs were far more lopsided than we guesstimated, and upgraded my left from a 550cc to a 600cc, with my right unchanged at 475cc. (Silicone) Crazy!
Overall I am ecstatic with the results thus far. My side shots are impressive. My flap is gone! And I'm happy with my boobs, , my nipples look great, and when the implants decide to settle and fall out of my armpits I will LOVE them!

So far I've been exceedingly impressed with Dr. Shah & my care coordinator. Calls or emails are responded to so fast, and my concerns or questions easily addressed. Not to mention, Dr. Shah is SO personable, I have not once felt uncomfortable or embarrassed while discussing this topic which has caused me so much embarrassment over the years. Can't wait to experience his work for myself! :)
