Finally Did It -

Well I've never really been a big person but...

Well I've never really been a big person but during my first pregnancy 11 years ago I went from 150 to 190 and I'm 5'6. Now a year prior to my pregnancy I had gained at least 25 lbs so all that weight gained was havoc on my body. I dropped the pregnancy weight I would say within a year and half but my stomach was ruined. Well 10 years later after getting married I said hey let's do it all over again but this time I thought by being in better shape maybe I could snap back and avoid the xtra stretch marks and second c-section wishful thinking but of course things didn't happen that way.

So here I am 18 months later 152 lbs after having my daughter and I just couldn't bear this hideous stomach any longer. Everyone tried to discourage me saying just work out you'll lose it what they didn't know was how disfigured it looked underneath my clothes. So after going back and forth with a friend of mine after telling her I made the decision to have the tummy tuck I sent her a pic and it looked like the one I posted all she could say at that point was I understand. Tuesday Jan 29 was the big day I've been in pain ever since I didn't know what to expect thought it would be similar to the c-sections ha this pain on the first two days was x1000 it's the third day and I'm feeling a little better just like a stuffed sausage. Hopefully I'll get a peek of myself today and will post a pic if I do. Happy healing everyone!

PO day 3 Feeling so much better had a SHOWER....

PO day 3 Feeling so much better had a SHOWER..YES!!! First thing this morning and have been feeling good all day. Not to mention I think it took me getting some of the Percocet out of my system, as well as gas and bm (TMI) I know, but wow that made such a difference. My husband and kids are stopping by to see me today so I"m really happy about that I haven't seen them since the morning of surgery. I've been staying at my moms for some xtra TLC that only a mom can give. So happy to be on the flat side with many of you and best wishes to all of you who are just beginning the journey or still thinking about it.

PO day 5 and feeling more and more like myself...

PO day 5 and feeling more and more like myself still hunched over. Haven't posted any pics yet because I'm rediculously swollen and my belly button just looks like a whole its weird so I have no indication of what my results will look like. I had MR (very large destasis recti), umbilical hernia repair, TT and was doc was suppose to do some lipo but I honestly can't see where it was done. Now I can say that very large bulge I had going on is gone so I am def happy about that. Stretch marks aren't all gone but I can live with that. Overall in the end I'm sure I'll feel like it was 100% worth it. Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get this swelling down???? I'm watching what I eat but..man. So for right now I'm just hanging out taking it one day at a time when I start complaining my mother is like now go look at the picture again...lol, gotta love mom.

PO day 14- I haven't updated in a bit but things...

PO day 14- I haven't updated in a bit but things are getting better each day still swollen but I'm finally seeing a little bit of my results. My waist is coming down I'm not as swollen as previous mornings so the remaining stretch marks don't look so bad. Well I went to have my last drain removed yesterday so I feel human again. While I was there the doc just decided to do my 2 week po check. He felt/saw what he thought to be a seroma ughhh so I got poked a few good times with what felt like a huge needle I didn't look I know the syringe was huge. He shot me with numbing medicine first but I could still feel everything let's just say was happy when that was over. Also getting that drained pulled is a really disgusting feeling it feels like a 20 inch worm crawling out lol no but seriously it's weird not really painful. He said everything was looking good swelling of course is to be expected but should get better by week 6. Also got clearance to begin doing lite walking on the treadmill best news yet. I love exercising and I'm missing the gym. Oh and I asked about my bb he said it should open a bit as it heals I honestly think he should've given me a new one but it was questionable due to the hernia so he decided against it I can live with it tho. Well that's all for now to those that are recovering remember to still take it easy because this was major surgery and although things may look great on the outside we are still healing internally as well. Best 10g's I've spent thus far and should last a lifetime with proper nutrition and exercise. Happy healing ladies! Posting updated pics too

Forgot to mention I'm also down a couple of lbs...

Forgot to mention I'm also down a couple of lbs don't know how or why because I sit around all day down to 150 I thought the scales would go in he other direction...hey I'm not complaining! Are any of you taking vitamins / drinking protein shakes to help with healing or to help slow down loss is muscle if so what's good? Oh btw after reading other posts I see I failed to mention I'm 33 years young ;)

Po day 21 today was my first day back to work...

Po day 21 today was my first day back to work after being off for three weeks it wasn't too bad. My stomach muscles were really sore by the end of the day not sure why maybe the position of my chair (I have a desk job) out side of that I was also really stiff. I can definetly tell with each passing day the recovery process is getting much easier. I'm also able to pick up my 18 month old so I'm really happy about that I think she is too I was starting to think she was wondering why mommy wouldn't pick her up. Well it's 10 pm and I feel beat so off to bed I go.

It's been a few weeks since my last update but...

It's been a few weeks since my last update but life has pretty much returned to normal almost. I'll be 6 wks PO tomorrow. My stomach still swells every day especially in the evening and my upper abs are still sore and a little puffy not really sure what that's all about. I started my scar treatment two weeks ago silicon sheet and this thing is like magic I saw a drastic improvement within the first week. Doing light walking although doc says I can run if I want and weights. I'm just so cautious worried about hurting something or bringing that ugly hernia back. I have to get moving tho because summers right around the corner and I have to get this body all the way together. I hope everyone is healing well til next time. P.s. Not the best pics kind of blurry but thought I should post my progression.

14 weeks po on tues May 7 and couldn't be feeling...

14 weeks po on tues May 7 and couldn't be feeling happier, I'm healthy, turned 34 last week, got a flat stomach and life is good. I'm working on getting some ab definition so lets see how my new journey goes. I still swell in the evening and really bad during and after working my doctor says I'm cleared to do what ever I want but to use common sense lol whatever that means. Scar is looking better not gone but of course it's a process my doctor says I only have to wear the gel stip for 3 more weeks but I feel naked without it. I also still wear my compression garment at night and spanx during the day I just feel more comfortable that way. It's crazy how having a flat stomach can really boost your confidence I don't think twice about the shirts I put on any more and tuck my shirt in. That's all for now will post updated pics soon.
