i wanted a better profile ie...get rid of turkey gobble. did not have unrealistic expectations and when i asked dr mendelsohn if he thought my expectations were realistic he agreed they were. do not chose your surgeons based on before and after. ask if you can meet with an actual patient. also do not be taken in by bedside manner and charm. my second surgeon who did an excellent job and i cant tell you how many compliments i am getting, wasnt as charming as dr mendelsohn but got the job done. do your homework

Thank you for this. I will be looking at your before and afters as I always wondered how real they are. Dr Mendelsohn does appear to be very commercial and that does make me skeptical. I am a client at Mitchell Salon and they cant say enough praises about him. But then they could be getting freebies.

Thank you for your input Carol. As other RealSelf users must realize, setting expectations and realistic goals is a vital part of the plastic surgery process. As you have noted, we spend a great deal of time during the consultative process to review options and try to present the realistic outcomes. During this process, I show at least 10 examples of patients, both men and women, who have various types of anatomy and have various types of results. I have performed thousands of Advanced Lifting procedures since we introduced this in 2002. It is true that not all of our patients are thrilled... but it is also true that most are quite satisfied - enough so to refer others for similar treatments. Facelifting surgery is like all other surgeries, it is not perfect - ever. Occasionally, facelifts do require "tuck-ups" as 2 main factors - loss of elasticity in the skin and poor anatomy make optimal results more challenging. We stand by our work, and when we are working well with individuals who recognize these things, everyone wins. I have included a link to a brief video testimonial of a 69 year old patient who underwent the Advanced Lift with me. She embodies the "typical" patient whose results are great, but not perfect. I almost wish I hadn't happened upon your post. so wish that i didn't happen upon your post. my goals were very realistic and dr martin had no problem reaching them. you are a very charming, smooth talking commercial doctor who probably does have some hit and misses, but please do not further insult me by your claims that i had too high expectations. you simply cut corners. and your records reflected that when before one of my surgeries one of your nurses slipped and told me something i thought had been done before was not. feel free to post my before and after pictures and let the patients be the judge. also patients feel free to check my facebook and see what an attractive women i am at 67 thanks to what dr kurtis martin enhanced. don't be taken in my dr. mendelsohns poor anatomy and loss of elasticity theory. neither of mine should of been a challenge for a good plastic surgeon.

just looked at the you tube suggested my dr mendelsohn. If i had only had this women's results i would of been oh so happy. to me this video is as phoney and commercial as dr. mendelsohn is . brought tears to my eyes that she lost her mom. thank god for dr. m!
