I've dealt with hyperhidrosis my whole life and it was seriously holding me back. I would never wear anything with color, or silk, and you can just forget about cotton tee shirts. I tried all the different medicated deodorants and was looking into Botox but really hated the thought of having redo it every couple months. I ran across miraDry in a magazine somewhere and looked it up. The cost was to much for me at the time but about a year later and I reconsidered it as I was better off financially. Scheduled a consultation and a month later my treatment. On the morning of my treatment I was seriously freaking out as I have really bad anxiety and the thought of local anesthesia freaked me out, being awake but not being able to feel certain parts of my body.

My doctor had the treatment done herself so it was nice for her to be able to tell me her thoughts from a patient stand point as well as a doctor. They laid me on the table and took measurements and started the injections which were a bit painful, I had 40 injections per side plus 10 injections of saline per side. Once the actual treatment started I didn't feel anything until she got to the bottom of the treatment area where apparently there wasn't enough numbing. It hurt like hell, I'm not gonna lie. My doctor offered to stop but I just told her to keep going, I powered through the last 5 or so spots that hurt really bad. Same on the other side, I actually asked her to START on the bottom to get the painful ones out of the way.

Coming home I didn't feel much, but once the numbness wore off I was in a lot of pain. The ibuprofen only helped a little bit. I was able to get to sleep and when I woke up this morning I feel a TON better. I'm still sore but my swelling has gone way down and the bruising isn't as bad as I had anticipated.

I will say, my doctor told me a temporary side effect is an increase in odor. That was NOT a lie, holy cow. I'm glad I took off work because I STINK! My doctor told me to think of it as the glands "purging" the odor that had built up. She told me it was safe to use a deodorant if I wanted but that it would probably sting because of the injection sites so I chose not to since it's just me home alone.

All in all I've been bone dry in these two days. Will update once the bruising and swelling fade more!

OH! I had my first treatment done on level 5

You are a brave soul to be able to sit through that pain.  One trick I have heard about is freezing bottle of water and then using them under your arm pits for ice packs.

I hope you are feeling better quickly.

I have an appointment with Stephanie Fox next week and wanted to know how you are doing post procedure. Is your swelling/lumps all gone? The lumps freak me out the most as I've read they can last for a few months. Do you still sweat? I hear going in at level 5 helps immensely. Did you need to go in for a second procedure?

did you experience any nerve pain post procedure?
