You know those annoying HOORAH I'm a 90's kid?...

You know those annoying HOORAH I'm a 90's kid? Yeah, I'm one of them. What we don't talk about is the backlash of being a 90's kid with not-so-straight teeth. Being in this age group means being a part of the rapid growth of technology and constant usage of social media. Let's just say that definitely did not help my self esteem when people were constantly taking photos. I found myself whitening my teeth to make up for the crookedness and finding the best lighting to hide this flaw. Which, let's be honest, it actually brought more attention to my teeth, but hey it is what it is... I'm a pretty happy person and love to laugh, but I found myself covering my teeth when I laughed.

Ugh, dating. Whenever I met a guy, my first thought would be, "Do my teeth bother him?" Especially Tinder... Are you rolling your eyes at me? I did say I was in that tech savvy age group where we yell, "There's an app for that!" but I don't blame you if you are rolling them. Since you match based on looks, my fear was showing up and becoming a disappointment based on not having the best smile. I graduated this May and got a full time job (I'm a lucky duck, I know) and I saved enough money and my parents are finally supporting me, emotionally and financially, with this decision.

I currently work at a start up and we just launched - which means photos. Lots and lots of photos. It's one thing to take a picture of yourself and know how to hide how bad your teeth are, but it's another when there's a photographer and lighting. Lighting is essential, but for me it highlights how crooked my teeth are and getting yelled at for not smiling.

So alas, I'm taking this journey and after reading the other reviews, I want to share my experience and hope I could get some advice from anyone who cares to hear my rants. I went in on October 5 for impressions. Ended up doing it 5 times, but it didn't taste terrible and I didn't mind. I have no idea the amount of trays or exact time this will take or if I'm getting attachments, but my appointment is tomorrow afternoon (took 4 weeks to receive the trays). The appointment will take between 1-2 hours, so I'm betting you money I'm getting attachments. Seriously, this thing is breaking my bank, so please bet against me! But, in all seriousness, I'm hoping they're not too noticeable. I will update with my day 1! Hope you stick through with me!

Day #1

Hello friends! Today is Day 1 and I was super excited. It ended up taking 30 minutes to my surprise and I definitely got attachments. Did anyone bet against me? I received a kit including two cases and basic instructions on how to care for it. Dr Major went through the basic and importance, like that I have cat and should never leave my trays out in the open. He also made sure I knew how to take the tray off and on before I left the office. It was a bit difficult, seeing how I didn't have a mirror, but I got it out.

I went back to work and everyone knew I went to the dentist so it was slightly embarrassing because everyone wanted to stare at my teeth, which is the last thing I want people to stare at. The pain wasn't bad at all...until the hours passed by. I went by the local Wally World and got a small travel bag for my toothbrush, floss, and all that jazz.

It was time for dinner, so I went to the bathroom and took it off. And dear god, did that hurt!! My teeth felt really weird because of the attachments. Like that feeling when you ate too much candy or something that left that gross texture on your teeth. I popped in some Ibuprofen and ate my food. It was really weird eating at first but got used it. Then I brushed carefully around the attachment and flossed, then put the trays back on, which proceeded to hurt. But the pain eventually decreased. I'll update on tray 2!
