Mommy Makeover: Stories

I went in not expecting a huge transformation, because I had several rolls of fat around my abdomen and an apron of fat below my pant line. I also had a breast reduction and lift, liposuction,and muscle plication. I was pleasantly surprised at the complete transformation. For the first time in twenty years, I am able to purchase my tops in the regular women's department. I can exercise confortably without the discomfort of binding myself to hold all the jiggle in. The cost of the 5 procedures that I had in one day are reflected below. It included an overnight stay at their surgical unit, top surgery staff,breast lift reduction, lipisuction of lower back, hip rolls, stomach, fat transplant to butt, tummy tuck,and stomache muscle plication, after care appointments and medspa treatments for areas of swelling, scars,and brushing.

I had my second part of my make over three weeks ago:
I had my full back done, my neck, and my inner thighs.

All I can say is Dr. Kortesis is a true artist. My goal was not to look like a model or anything like that....I am so happy with everything and am done with Plastic Surgery. I am currently seeing Dr Kortesis about 1X wk along with my after care treatment at the spa. A few suggestions for those thinking about a tummy tuck with muscle plication and liposuction....you may want to purchase some pee pads and a pack of diapers....The amount of fluid that they use during lipo and also the amount of water you should be drinking daily to heal, may lead to accidents....the first week after surgery, you are moving a lot slower and making it to the bathroom in time can be a challenge, especially the first few days, when you are also more sedated...I found out the hard way.

So the cons of surgery:
Discomfort of which the level is dependent on the pain tolerance of each person and their ability to think positive. I am a firm believer in mind over matter and visualizing positive things...It really helps

The pros of surgery:
a more positive self image
shopping in a regular store for clothes
getting to wear more trendy clothes
having a wonderful support system like I experienced with Dr Kortesis and his staff at the Hunstad Center has made everything so easy and comfortable. For those of you who are not in the Charlotte area, I would still look into the center, I believe they have some support for out of town patients

I wanted surgery so that I could workout and enjoy life as an active person
My personal goal is to get to the recommended weight for a person of my height. I also want to be able to discontinue the diabetes medicine
So far my A1c has been lowered from 7.1 to 5.7 and am down to 1000mg of Metformin today, I am hoping at my next Dr appointment, I have my A1c below Diabetes and don't have to take any meds
I can not say enough, how much having these two surgeries have changed my life. I feel on the outside, how I felt on the inside. I love going out now, I walk taller, I just feel so free to be me without worry about how I feel on the outside. Anyone who has been overweight, or felt self conscience about certain aspects of their body, can relate to what I am saying
