WORTH IT$13,000
I could not afford to have the work done in Canada. I would have had to put a mortgage on my home.

I have had the problem of grinding my teeth for years, and my teeth were worn down to the gums. The enamel was worn off the surface of all my teeth. The dental specialist in Victoria BC told me that my teeth needed to be built up 4mm and this could be done by putting a crown on all my teeth to bring them back to the original size. It would involve about four sessions of treatment and the cost would be $56,000.00 baring root canals and other unforeseen expenses. They told me that the roots were all very healthy and it would be a mistake to have them all pulled. Dentures are expensive too. I honestly did not know what to do. I communicated with over 25 people who had been to Cancun Cosmetic Dentistry for treatment and all were very positive. Aside from the dental work what a great place to visit. I would not hesitate to do it again if I had to. The only downside is it is a long ways to go for follow up treatment, but my wife says we must do that and she will patiently wait at the beach while I have my teeth checked.

This is really impressive. I must say, Doctor has done his great job.

Honestly, I don't think you really needed such an extensive treatment, like crowns on all your teeth. Overall, your teeth looked ok to me before - little nice teeth with a natural yellowish tint. Probably with a professional cleaning, a little bonding on your central upper incisors, and the restoration of your lower back molars, your smile would have been fixed. (After that, you should have worn a mouthguard at night, for the protection of your teeth from grinding.)
Also, I'm not a fan of the dazzling white shade, which looks unnatural, all the more when it is opaque. I'm sorry, but this doesn't seem like quality, or even ethical, dentistry to me. Moreover, I feel it's important that we should be honest when we comment, so that we can really help other people. From what I see, this doctor routinely performs "complete dental makeovers", even on healthy teeth. Isn't there any authority to stop this mutilation? :-(

I hope you're joking. No offense to the patient but the smile before the treatment was pretty bad. It wasn't natural at all and the final result is absolutely 1000% better.

I am being totally honest and I surely know what I'm talking about. First of all, the person would have needed a professional cleaning to remove the plaque. Then, the conservative adjustments that I mentioned above.
It is very important to take a conservative approach with one's teeth whenever possible (and here it would have definitely been possible). Please beware of dental advertising without having some knowledge of dentistry and anatomy first. Very often, the removal of dental tissue (needed for the application of crowns) leads to endodontic treatments (root canals). A tooth without enamel can become sensitive as the dentin has been irritated by the drill. This can result in an endodontic treatment (root canal). Also, a tooth without pulp tissue is not as strong as a natural tooth. Crowning all teeth is a VERY radical procedure (rarely needed), but very lucrative for dentists who privilege money over the patient's health.
Show this treatment to a reputed specialist (for example, one can go to a university; showing the “before” situation is important), and he/she will be astonished. No, no joking! I honestly feel compassion for this uninformed and credulous patient. Most patients know nothing about the field of medicine, in general, and the field of dentistry, in particular, and easily put their trust in anyone.
Please note that many medical professionals often refrain from criticizing a peer's work (it's the etiquette). But the honest and brave ones will tell the truth.

Is there a way to get the result of healthy white teeth without capping the tooth? Especially this patient's before photo? Just wondering your opinion.

An honest ethical dentist Is .as rare as hens teeth from my experience (so to speak)
Of course your observations are accurate & astute
Though telling the patient to shut the door after the horse has escaped isn't wise in my opinion
It will only serve to make a happy patient unhappy
Surely there is a way to make people aware in "advance" of the options & pit falls
Most medical & dental professionals do not spend any time educating patients
And knowledge IS power

Indeed, you are right. I allowed myself to comment with the purpose of informing the other site viewers. (I know I can't help this patient, but I felt that I had to inform the other readers.)
I would like all unethical and/or incompetent professionals to go bankrupt and only the good ones to survive in business.
Best regards.

Hi,
It's been a long time since I last visited this website.
To answer your question, yes, first of all, a professional cleaning should be performed. A professional cleaning (removal of tartar with ultrasounds + professional brushing) leave the teeth very clean and beautiful. And it doesn't cost a fortune either.
Best regards.

You don't think it's quality or ethical dental work? Western Dentists quoting $56000 as far as I'm concerned are the crooks! Maybe he had more work than required but at $13000 his teeth look fabulous! I think you're a Dentist who is annoyed that foreign Dentists are offering affordable treatments. I know plenty of people going overseas for dental work, as they are sick and tired of paying exorbitant prices. For instance, I went to a Dentist in my home town recently and I strictly said I wanted a scale and clean only and was quoted a price. The Dentist decided he wanted to show me how to floss better. Didn't take that long to do a demo and then when it came time to pay, he tacked on an extra $40 for an oral hygeine presentation!!!! I didnt even ask for this!!! As I live near Asia, most of my friends travel to Thailand for their dental work - cheaper to go there and you can have a resort holiday at the beach usually costing less than the dental work quoted at home. Moreover, the clinics are well staffed and the equipment and presentation of the clinics are far more modern than clinics back home.
