“Tummy Tuck & Full Uplift California”
Spent: $11,000 in California, CA
I am 5'4, 138 pounds and mom to 3 boys ages 4, 10 & 13. I am very active and workout at the gym 5 days a week. I have a high tolerance for pain (never need to take meds and delivered my boys naturally without medication)
I went originally to my PS to discuss my full uplift. I have always been a saggy D+ so I had a full uplift done 8 years ago. The awesome results were undermined by getting pregnant (surprise) and breastfeeding. He sold me on the tt in addition to the uplift. I figured why not although everytime i looked at my stomach I was not concerned with it as I was my very saggy breasts. I went on Monday morning only a little nervous, mostly excited. I came out of surgery at 2:45 feeling great. The blood pressure cuff caused a pinched nerve and my right arm was numb until late Monday night. That was the only irritation.
Tuesday, 1 day post-op. Was not prepared for the pain. OMG wanted to cry. Kept wondering why I did the tt. Hurts like heck. My right breast was also hurting unlike I remember from first uplift. Can't find a comfortable place. I took pain pills every 4 hours and left the catheter in. I finally found a good spot to be in but it is very hard to get in and out of. I needed my husband to put pressure on my back to slowly lift me. I am feeling rough. I was not expecting this pain. My drains are not very full. I keep emptying them every 4 hours they are between 15 and 30cc.
Wednesday, day 2 post-op. Feeling better. Figured out how to get up and down. Small sponge bath, washed face and brushed teeth. Got dressed too. Took catheter out. Progress. Pain manageable today. Had my first appt in the afternoon. PS proud of his work and his assistant said everything looked so good. They showed me pics of surgey being performed and my hernia repair. Interesting but gross. I was given a mirror to check everything out.
Excited! I have perky full breasts! My breasts are very bruised and my stomach is very tight and numb. Looks good! Made dinner. Could only rinse dishes cant bend to load. Figured out a way to get on and off toilet. Afraid thinking of a bm. Took magnesium to hopefully be of assistance.
Thursday, day 3. Tired. Pain manageable. Getting easier to get up and down. I get to shower today. Yay!

Friday, day 4. Took another shower today just because I can and the water felt great. I tied gauze around my neck and pinned the drains to that. It works, but after the shower the gauze keeps dripping. No biggie. I had the compression belt off for a half an hour...it feels much better to have it on. My drains are so low I might get them out today. Waiting to hear still. I fed the dog and figured out a way to sort laundry. Instead of bending over into the basket I was on my knees pulling stuff out. Just that little bit made me tired. So back to my movie marathon until the Dr calls.

Well that was an uncomfortable procedure but...YAY! My drains are out! The doctor said that doesn't give me the go ahead to get off the couch and vacuum. The doctor snipped the stitches holding the drain tube in place and pulled. It felt like a giant worm twisting out of my stomach. I could literally feel the tube going by my ribs. Day 4 is coming to a close and I feel great! Time seems to be going fast. Feeling great about my decision, better than the sad, not quite sure what I was thinking feeling I felt 3 days ago. Even getting excited about bathing suit shopping.

Day 5 post-op. Today was a good day. I cleaned a toilet and sink and moved a load of laundry along. I was afraid of moving the whole pile so I had my 13 yr old help. My tummy feels swollen...hope that wasn't too much activity for today. My 4 year old wanted to be my snuggle bug this morning. His wiggly legs and sharp elbows made it hard for me to love the moment with him but I can't resist his snuggles. The pain was very minimal today...I didn't even need tylenol. By night though my lower back is very tight and throbbing so I took a pill to take the edge off for bed. Took the belt off to check my gauze. My stomach is flat and tight! My husband keeps checking out the boobies :) he says they are so high it's like I have a shelf to set my wine glass on. Haha. Cheers...to a speedy recovery!

Postop day 8...Shower, shave, blowdried hair, and makeup!! Getting better everyday. Had another visit with the doctor today. He removed some stitches and some steritape. Everythings looking good. My right breast has some redness that is moving towards my glands so to be safe the doctor started me on a 5 day antibiotic. Did not sleep comfortably last night so I took a couple tylenol. I start feeling pretty tired by evening time. My ps had me freaked out about blood clots. Each day that passes I worry a little less...Other than that so far so good.

Dr. has been a PS for 30 years. He keeps up on all advanced technology and procedures. His staff is friendly and knowledgable. Answered all questions and concerns even silly sounding ones. He is conservative and his main concern is your health and well being not how many procedures can be crammed in to make more $$$.

Good advice about the funny movies. Thanks for the play by play of your recovery. It will surely be of help to other ladies going through post-op healing. Hopefully since you're not draining much, you won't have to keep the drains in for too long. Fingers crossed on that one.
Please keep us updated on how you're feeling. You made it through the first three days! Hooray!
Thanks for the welcome! I wasn't planning on posting but I have been reading other peoples stories obsessively since I booked my appointment. I thought I could add my opinion after being so surprised by the pain the first day. I think it is like therapy too. Have a great day!

OMG Girlie...skip the house cleaning for a while. Milk that one out as long as you possibly can. Post op day 5 you were cleaning a toilet and sink...LOL Ok you get the Wonder Woman award.
When I was post op day 5 I was just lucky to be able to get on and off the toilet by myself...never had the urge to clean it.
