Updates to photos and pre op photos

I don’t want to confuse anyone so I will reiterate that I only had the explant surgery with Dr Cohen. The pre op photos are for a revision (performed by a different Los Angeles surgeon.
My other two sets of breast implants were done in Sydney and I only have a couple of photos of those.. but they were bigger. 350 cc high profile mentors and 250 cc moderate profile mentors (like a low plus in Allergan or Sientra) respectively.. I kept downsizing. Both the first two sets although they were bigger and over the muscle looked way more natural and prettier than the last ones with the gala flax that Dr Cohen has now removed. Obviously over time tissues stretch somewhat but that is not the reason.. The photo with my 250 was taken not long before the last revision surgery and even with the capsular contracture on the right side they looked more natural than the tiny 170 ccs with galaflax.. the reason for the hard looking visible outline is the gala flax and it figures because it was all the way around the implant, and in the upper pole there is nothing covering.. most surgeons when they use a mesh only use it in the lower pole.. and the upper pole will have the muscle over the implant.
Anyway, I will review that surgery at some point..
The first photo where I am holding the gauze is in the first week and the second photo is two weeks post after lots if lymphatic drainage so the swelling has gone down and the bloating from the meds has resolved.
Then there are two photos taken a few days before surgery with 170 ccs and the mesh (honestly I really disliked the results from the start but tried to be positive.. looking at the photos they were even more awful than I thought)..
Then the set I had before that were 250 ccs, but I had developed a capsular contracture as you can see on the right side.. so it’s slightly raised and hard..but before that they looked beautiful and I actually went to several surgeons about having explant surgery and they gently talked me out of it saying how good they looked.. and there were no issues. But then I developed the contracture.
Unfortunately I had an injury to my breast that led to the capsular contracture. Prior to that I had not had any issues.

photos

Wanted to add some post op photos.
The files were too large and had to figure out how to resize..
it was confusing as every photo started with a different file size. I also wanted yo add some pre op and then also some other
photos of previous breast implants before these ones were removed. At the moment it seems I can only add one. Every other photo is wrong format or too large.

I Am So Glad I Went to Dr Cohen

Had previous breast revision surgery in Los Angles in 2022 with a different surgeon. They placed (very small- 170 cc low profile) smaller implants, sub glandular, with gala flax all the way around.
From the beginning it was an awful experience.. I had had two previous sets of implants going back to 2006, and both times they felt quite natural for implants and looked good. Some would say great although always a bit big for me. But this surgery didn't give me a good result. To cut a long story short they looked bad.. too close together and very palpable looking hard edges, due to the gala flax (this was the flattest and softest implant on the market natrelle SRL LP and I was always sub glandular according to MRI-S). But the reason I went to Dr Cohen wasn't primarily cosmetic. The gala flax didn't dissolve like I was told it would and only became more uncomfortable and unpleasant over time. It literally protruded visibly and to the touch.. it was so horrible. I asked the original surgeon to remove the implants and gala flax so I could start fresh and decide from there but she refused.. instead I was told there was nothing wrong and had had a good outcome medically, and that the gala flax should not be removed. I was very worried, as I needed it removed, I was in such discomfort and it wasn't getting better but worse, and several local surgeons advised me to go back to my original surgeon and have it removed asap.
When she refused I felt really upset and worried. I figured that by removing it, my breasts would go with it or something.. I feared the worst. But even if that were going to be the case I had to get it out. I set about finding a surgeon at the top of their game, but also with good ethics and manners. I based my decision to have surgery with Dr Cohen not mainly on the amazing work he clearly does but on how he conducted himself in consultation. I have had many consults over the years and Dr Cohen was one of the best. He wasn't afraid to tackle the problem like so many other surgeons who are polite and care but ultimately may not be skilled enough for some tasks.. yet he wasn't arrogant or dismissive in the way that sometimes excellent surgeons with reputations that precede them can be. He removed everything, and did an immaculate and clean job. I had lots of lymphatic massage (globally more so than to the breasts but this still helps with swelling) both in Arizona and back home, and my regular massage therapist commented on what a remarkable job he did and how clean the incisions are ... but I don't need to hear it from anyone else.
A quick word.. in my photos you can see that I had allergic reactions to the compression and to the sticky adhesive over the incisions.. I am very red and have hyper pigmentation like marks on my chest.. I know from experience these will be all but gone in 6 to 12 months but ladies.. if you do experience this a quick word of advice..stay out the sun! Keep any scars or marks from tape or foam or bandages completed protected until faded to an acceptable level or they will become permanent. Another word of warning.. it was very painful for 48 hours or so and I didn't expect this.. I had to resort to taking the strong meds which I wouldn't normally do, they mess with my gut and bloat me so badly. But I stopped them after 48 hours.. because those things are only for if you are in pain so bad it's intolerable, and I although I needed them for that first day or two, I feel like I healed quicker by being able to come off them quickly..don't get me wrong take them if you need them but I think the pain is only bad for a short while.
I am booked in for revision surgery (to get it right this time) in April 24 with Dr Cohen. We decided to stage the surgery this way to allow my tissues to retract as I did not want a breast lift and was considering a pocket change.
Will try to update before then. Best of luck to anyone contemplating surgery.. follow your gut!

Also.. I am going to try to persist with uploading photos, but the website keeps telling me the file is too large. I am not super tech savvy but will do my best as I don't think reveiws are worth all that much without photos..
Sorry..
