Oh Boy! Here we go! I am 44 and have 3 great kids 7,13 and 15, and I am ready to look like the fit healthy person I am. I was reluctant to go in for my tummy tuck consultation, but as soon as I walked out of the door I was sure it is what I want to do. I have looked at so many pictures of other peoples great results, I am now really ready and excited to have the procedure done myself.

I am a very active person I am a 4.0 tennis player and play 4 times a week, plus I am am into kickboxing and trx. I spend most of my days in tennis/workout gear and am tired of seeing my stomach protrude out the front. I have the stomach muscle separation so when I do a sit up it looks like an alien is going to pop out. I can't wait to be able to buy tank tops from Lululemon or Lucy and not have to buy the drapey ones that don't cling to my buldge. Every piece of clothing in my closet was purchased because I thought in some way it camouflaged my tummy. When I sit down in public I will put my purse on my lap to hide the bulge. I have even been asked if I am pregnant within the last year.

I am not excited about the recovery or having to take the time off from the things I love to do. I am grateful that my kids are old enough to let me rest. I am hoping I picked a good time for the surgery. It will suck for 2 weeks before Christmas Break, then week 3 will be Christmas, week 4 New Years and week 5 kids go back to school and I can start easing back into my routine. I will have lots of family around to keep the kids busy and lay low and watch movies with me. Hopefully the time will pass by quick and I will get out of some of the holiday cooking and cleaning :-)

I will keep posting and add some pictures. Like I said I am thankful for everyone else who has posted blogs and pictures about their journey. It is a really big life changing event and a really difficult decision to make, and being able to read about other peoples experiences has made it possible for me to say yes to this procedure. Wish me luck!

18 days to go! I am ready

Here is what we are dealing with...

Thinking about belly buttons and tennis

Do you get to have any input on what your belly button looks like?

I have my last consult and pre-op on 11/18 and surgery on 11/30. I hope to nail down final cost at that point as well. My 13k quote is for a tummy tuck and breast lift, but now I am getting cold feet on the breast lift. Breast cancer runs through my family so I am not inclined to get implants. I think implants would make a big difference and might be worth it, but a lift seems like a lot of pain, recovery and money for minimal impact. I am for sure adding on the lipo I want that tummy to look so good that I might even contemplate wearing a bikini...

Here is to dreaming! Can my doctor really take my tummy and make it look as good as the other tummies I have seen on this site? It seems too good to be true! I will keep posting. I am really curious to see how long it takes until I am playing tennis and doing kickboxing. I will let you guys know what that part of the recovery is like.

I have to say that now that my procedure is a couple of weeks out I have lost interest in working out. It feels like it is not worth it since any gains I make will be lost in recovery. Just trying to do what feels right and pass the time till the big day!
