Still progressing

I had a follow up appointment with my PS last Monday. She feels that things are healing nicely, but has suggested that I start doing displacement massage on my right breast to help the implant in it's decent. I am relieved that there is at least something I can do. It does seem to be getting better though. My left has lost most of the scabbing so it is much less frankenboobish and my right is softening up and I think dropping ever so slowly. The pics are from last week. I will take more recent ones tomorrow to show the progress.

Progressing... ish...

Leading up to my BA, when I would read reviews where people were getting frustrated about their progress and it had only been a week, I thought it was crazy. Now I am on the other side, and I have a new appreciation for the impatience. While it has been just over a week for me, I feel like it has been a long long time and am a little frustrated that things still look wonky. However, then I remind myself that it has been like a week and two days since I had my surgery and of course things still look wonky and it is going to take time... and honestly, things may never look the way I really want them too, but even if that happens, I will still look much improved from where I was.

On my left where I had the lollop lift things look like a bit of a mess. It is all sutured and scary looking and not as full looking as on the right. On the right, the implant is still quite high and tight, so my boob is a little oddly shaped. They are also a bit further spaced out than I had hoped, but with the tuberous traits I had, my breasts were really spread out to begin with. So, I don't know if I will ever have that really nice cleavage I was hoping for... but still it will be an improvement.

My PS gave me a funny chart of what to expect emotionally following surgery. A little chart showing the emotional roller coaster to expect over the few weeks following surgery. I think I have hit the nit-picky stage now.. because it feels like I should be progressing more even though deep down I know that things are probably right where they are supposed to be. It is just hard when looking at this site there are quite often people who have amazing looking results after a week...

Healing Nicely

I have been taking it really easy so haven't gotten around to doing a big update until today. So, here is the run down.

I arrived at the office at 7:45 the morning of the 29th with my surgery scheduled to start at 9:30. They lead me to a waiting room to get changed into my robe with a nice cushy recliner and a warm blanket. The only downside pre-surgery was getting my IV in. Apparently I have some weird extra valves in my veins which made it difficult to get the IV in. It took 4 tries because my veins kept getting blown. Luckily though, the 4th try was a charm and that was the most painful part of the entire procedure.

At about 9:15 I was lead into the operating room, answered a few questions, laid down on the table, and that was it. I woke up some time later in the recovery room. I wasn't in any pain, but extremely groggy and there was a feeling of a lot of pressure and tightness in my chest. I don't remember a whole lot other than eating a cracker and then getting wheeled out to my waiting vehicle.

The part that I had been most worried about was the 6 hour drive home right after surgery, but it was no problem at all. I napped a little bit, and we made frequent stops so that I could get out and stretch my legs (mostly to avoid blood clots).

I had also been a little worried about heading back across the border and wondering if I would need to pay duty on my new boobies, but they just asked what the purpose of our trip had been and if we were bringing anything back. We were just upfront and said that I had been down for cosmetic surgery. They didn't question it at all, and we were on our way.

I have been healing nicely I think. There has never been much pain, other than when I have accidentally used my pecs rather than abs when trying to sit up.

My right breast is still really quite high, but because of my asymmetry it also got the larger implant 450cc. It is still quite hard as well, but I am sure that it will come along in time. My left breast is the one which was larger and needed the lift. It looks like a total frankenboobie. The sutures are pretty nasty looking, but the shape is nice, and it is a bit softer already.

There is a little bruising, but not a lot. Dr. Honeycutt also did some lipo near my armpit just above my breast (at no extra charge) which is where most of the bruising is. Also that makes my breasts look even weirder shaped right now because that is quite swollen and it is above where the implants are so it looks odd.

So far, I couldn't be happier!! My only regret (as it is for so many of us) is that I waited so long to finally go through with this.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr Honeycutt, her staff and the clinic. Everyone was so nice and wonderful. They are all very open and forthcoming. They treated me do well. If I ever need another procedure I will be going back to her. She called me herself last night to check in and make sure that I had made it home and that there were no concerns. I highly, highly recommend Dr Honrycutt and judging by the number of awards lining her walls, I an not the only one.
