I've wanted a BA for years but after two breastfed...

I've wanted a BA for years but after two breastfed kids, I REALLY wanted a BA. My body shape changed from a cute 5'6" 125lb hour glass shape to a not so cute 155lb pear shape. I went from having full breasts to losing most of the volume. I've researched BA for two years now and I'm finally getting it done next week! I tried finding surgeons in my area, but none seemed comfortable with the XL implant I want. But, Dr. Hedden has a ton of experience with XL sizes and doing them on a first BA. So it's too Alabama I go! I'm so excited for my surgery next week, but I'm also a nervous wreck, haha. So far, Dr. Hedden, Heather, and the rest of his office have been very helpful and super nice. I'm looking forward to meeting them in person.

Eighteen days post-op, how I'm feeling.

I'm 18 days post op and I'm happy! I got the 800ccs that I wanted, which is awesome! Dr. Hedden did an amazing job and I would recommend him to anyone. My sister wants to get hers redone and I hope she'll go to him. Right now the only negative things I could say are that the hypersensitivity of my nipples is driving me crazy and that I'm having a hard time having patience for the dropping and fluffing, lol. They've dropped some and are not as hard and square as they started out, but they still have a lot of dropping and fluffing to do. Patience is key during this time, which I know, but it's super hard for such an impatient person, haha.

Review of Dr. Hedden and the process

I was an out of town patient for Dr. Hedden, which makes up about 65% of his patients. There is a reason for that, it's because he's an amazing surgeon! My pre-op appointment went well. I knew going in what size I wanted, so I really didn't play with the sizers for very long, I had already done all that at home. Like others have said, his office was really busy. But I see that as a good thing! My husband was with me for our days in Birmingham. Dr. Hedden is very up front with what he sees in your natural breasts and what he thinks he will be able to accomplish for you. He was straight and to the point, which I like in a doctor. He told me he could definitely fit 600s in, but knowing I wanted 800s, would try for that first and fit what he could safely fit. I'm happy to say I got the 800s! I also met my nurse at the pre-op too. I forget her name, but she was super sweet and helpful. After my pre-op we left and got my prescriptions. I was told to be at the surgery center at 6:30am, which I was happy about. I wanted it to be early so I didn't have to go without food for long the next day.

I was the first patient to show up at the surgery center on my surgery day. Within a few minutes, there were two other patients that showed up. I was the first to be called back, and I believe the first to get her surgery that morning. The anesthesiologist was great. We joked and he was really nice. Dr. Hedden marked me up, I got my IV and some meds and then was escorted into the surgery room where I laid on the table. I remember chit chatting a little with the people in the room about the crummy weather the night before. Then they put an oxygen mask on me and the next thing I know, I'm waking up in recovery with my new girls! The nurse had me try eating some crackers and had some water. My mouth was so dry, which made eating the crackers difficult, lol. She helped me get my clothes back on and my bra on. Then I went to the car and back to the hotel with my husband. I did get sick right when I got into our hotel room, but it was only the once. I slept the majority of the day, off and on.

Post-op was at 9 am the next day. They took pictures and Dr. Hedden came in and told us how surgery went and answered any and all of our questions and gave post-op instructions. I'm scheduled to skype with Dr. Hedden on May 1st, so that will probably be my next update.
