Not Worth It
Spent: $3,000 in Toronto, Canada

I have always had hollow eye cheeks and then really high cheek bones, making the hollow area look even deeper. Having heard I "look tired" since I was 10 years old, I decided a fat transfer would be a good solution for  me.

Post surgery, my face was swollen like a melon, but I was optimistic. After about 4 weeks, the major swelling was down, but my eyes looked a bit 'off'.  6 months later...the fat under my eyes that the doctor had kept telling me was normal swelling, never did go away. That was because it was hard fat lumps I could pinch between my fingers.  AND it was uneven lumps.  So I went from looking 'hollow' to looking like those people with the pouches under their eyes.  Ugh!

I went back to the clinic and they finally agreed that the fat needed to be removed, but that only way to do that was to perform a blepharoplasty.  This would require more $$$ and no guarantees of success. I am only 4 days post op on that, so I can't comment.  But I CAN'T believe I went from something I thought was going to be so minor to a blepharoplasty to correct this darn thing.  I just wish I had NEVER touched anything and left my poor delicate eyes alone. I would pay twice as much just to get back to where I was before any of this.

I've had fat to the cheeks several times, seen a few surgeons, none of them would do it near the eyes, too unpredictable. I'm not sure why the surgeon you seen didn't recomment not to do near the eyes. It is risky for sure. I don't think there is anything from research that can do under the eyes, read bad stories all time about this. Make sure they don't take too much of the fat out now. good luck. Should not have been swollen up like a melon either, I never on all the times had it done, had much swelling.

Can you please name the clinic? I have a similar hollow eye problem and was interested in doing a similar surgery. But, I guess I will do a bit more research now.

Oh, I am so glad you posted as I was considering the fat transfer too...thinking it would help the hollowed eyes I have. I am thankful to find these posts, because it is showing me that mother nature makes us perfect. I had my nose corrected years ago after several blows to hit (creating a jumbled mess inside). I liked what they did. But I got whacked again not to long afterward so now it's got a notch in it. But I'm leaving it alone!!! Letting nature be. And will do the same with my eyes. Thank you!

Please give others the name of your Surgeons! Your unhappy with results promised. You spent hard earned money for these promises and now you must spent even more for correction. Why are you protecting them? They are arrogant enough and all you do is help them continue this nasty business, by not giving others there names. The good surgeon "Shines by Reputation", and doesn't make false promises, but gives honest expectations, negative result outcomes, and makes sure your a good candidate before going into any procedure. They are a surgeon and M.D. not GOD, and realize this. Trust me, I've seen enough of them. There is absolutely nothing wrong with naming your surgeon ( Good or Bad) and believe me, if the one that botched my face up was to have come after me, she would have done so by now. They normally like to hide under accusations of "high expectations", by the consumer and other Bull. Some shouldn't be in practice and I wish this Sight was around back then. So please let others know and save them your negative experience. If a car mechanic botches your car's transmition, you'd file complaint, go to Better Business and other complaints boards. You hired him/her, and got disfigurement, depression, and expense both emotionally and financially. SO NAME THE DOCTOR !!!!

I am only 27 I had just turned 26 when i had a fat transfer surgery. I was told that fat injections/fat grafting was the same thing but had i known that my surgeon would be invading my own tissue and digging inside with an endoscope, (he wrote that on my medical report) I would have ran the heck out of there and never looked back. If you are going to have a f/t then do not allow to be put under general, that way you can see everything that goes on and the doctor would experiment on your face. Buyer Beware I won't name my doctor either but here is a hint: Never trust anyone from any plastic surgery message boards forums, that is how bad doctors get their patients, and once you are botched they will ban you for coming back with a negative outcome and exposing them.
