Fat Graft to Breasts!!! Best Surgeon Right Here! - Beverly Hills, CA

For any women suffering from a deformity due to...

For any women suffering from a deformity due to breast ex-plantation or bad implants or even cancer treatment; Dr Rogers is excellently skilled at fixing these problems. I've seen pictures of complete breast removals being repaired to an incredible real looking breast.

I had silicone implants removed by another Dr who told me I would just be "flat". 'Flat' or 'inverted stuck to the muscle wall folds that encompass an index finger in depth & length with permanent folded over pointing south nipples' are not one-in-the-same to me.(Incision under the areola caused scar tethering to the muscle wall) I was horrified by the appearance after the ex-plantation.

I am thin and had most of my body fat in my buttocks. Dr Rogers did a fat graft procedure from the buttocks to the breasts. The result isn't huge(limited in volume) but it is amazing.

I am going back for a second procedure for symmetry purposes. My buttocks had a rather large piece of skin removed at the fold below each cheek due to the volume of fat removed. The buttocks recovery wasn't easy but the result from this donor site is amazing as well. I ended up with a mini butt lift as well as new breasts. I am happy with the total overall outcome so far and look forward to the 2nd and final procedure.

I was extremely scared of this procedure due to all the online controversy, but today I am so happy I went this route instead of re-implanting new implants and I am extremely happy I went to Dr Rogers vs any other surgeon. I think I have found the plastic surgeon I will always go to if needed and definitely refer to others.

All you ladies considering fat transfer to the breasts, please check out Dr. MENDIETA, he may be the butt master but he does wonders with boobs too... I just had mine done Monday, 12/2, and they are Beautiful!!!! Will be doing some blog entries soon, recovery is no picnic and from the cell phone you can only post comments, no pics. Just bear in mind that fat transfer or AFT, isn't going to give you pornstar breasts, a cup-cup and a half if u r lucky, but it does wonders for the shape and appearance if you choose a good PS. I chose Mendieta after my consultation with Khouri went horribly bad, I am not saying anything negative about his work, he is an amazing reconstructive PS and his BRAVA approach is very successful, but with the exception of a nurse the staff is rude, the place is dingy, prices are outrageous. I felt judged and talked down to, and I am a cash paying customer, with just a desire to look better. Dr. Mendieta's office is beautiful, Angel is the sweetest human being ever, the nurses are friendly, doc is personable, reasonably priced for an all over body contouring, not just crude grafting, he takes pride in the art of creating beauty, not just solving a problem. He doesn't use the BRAVA, so I may end up with a smaller size, but the all over results are visible just 4 days later, and the experience has been nothing but pleasurable (except the drains, those r a BIOTCHHHHH). Goof luck and message me for pics and questions. Entries w pics coming soin, too swollen to bend over the computer sorry

I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Khouri to discuss breast reconstruction after bilateral mastectomies and thought I had one. Cindy called me to inform me that the doctor would not be there on the day of my appointment and that his assistant would be seeing me. That was not acceptable to me so I expressed my desire to reschedule the appointment when I could see the doctor. Two weeks before my appointment I received another call from Cindy who was totally confused regarding my appointment stating that she had me all over the place, I reiterated when my appointment was and again she kept referring to another doctor within this office. For the second time I expressed my concern that this form of reconstructive surgery was my only option and after having a very bad experience with my oncologists office who's assistant almost gave me the wrong chemotherapy I had no interest in seeing anyone but Dr. Khouri., She then said that she didn't have my insurance information which was given to her upon making the first appointment. This office showed no compassion to want to help a woman recover from the devastation of breast cancer and the loss of both breasts. It is a very emotion time for women like me and Cindy does her best to use that emotion and depression against you. Apparently because I was a Medicare patient and have allergies to silicone when it is placed inside my body she used this as an excuse to inform me that I was not a candidate and that they would not work with me. My depression over losing my breast and having to spend the rest of my life looking like the bride of Frankenstein doesn't matter to this doctors office. They are the most uncompassionate and inhumane people I have ever encountered. To any woman looking to restore her self worth and appearance after under going the demoralization of breast cancer, chemo and/or radiation side effects, not to mention the trauma of disfigurement. Steer clear of this doctors office as they will do their very best to make you feel worse and then refuse to treat you.

Wonderful! Congrats - it's incredible to feel "normal" again!!! I can't believe it will be 2 years for me since Dr. Khouri did my recon revision. And I'm still very, very happy....:-)

Had recon with Dr Khouri in June 2012. Very happy with results thus far.

I didn't lose much at all. Obviously you have some swelling from surgery itself, but I kept at least 80-85%. I can find 2 lipo holes but nobody else would - I'm very happy with the lipo results and love my breasts. Aside from my (by now, very faint) scars from the mastectomy, you would never know these aren't my "originals". I will always be grateful to Dr. Khouri and his staff.

crissie,
Just stumbled on this site and your comment.
I had breast reconstruction revision done by Dr. Khouri in Miami. Couldn't be happier with him as a surgeon as well as person and the results I have are amazing. Whoever told you to gain weight might be well intentioned but....fat cells shrink when you lose weight again to return to your "normal" self so you would lose volume wherever those fat cells were transferred to.
My advice is to go for a consult and see and hear for yourself what this surgeon can do. His patients come from all over the world and he travels everywhere to teach other surgeons how to do this. He is the best.
By the way, I am almost 2 years out and know of others who are even further out from their surgeries and still look awesome.

Wow, that is great. Did you loose any or much volume in your breast after the surgery? How do the sites where Lipo was done look? Are you happy with them?

Thanks!

Hi All, Looking for insight from any one who has had this surgery.

Michellef - I have a question for you. Now, after nearly one year, how is the volume in your breasts? And your donor sites? Are you happy with the procedure.

I am in a similar situation, had implants for 14 yrs, had them removed 7 months ago, and now want a little more volume to look normal. Just about 1/2 to 1 cup. Not a huge amount. And, I am only 116 lbs - so am very worried about where this fat is going to come from and how the donor areas will look. About 10 yrs ago, I had lipo on my thighs and buttocks (bad idea, as was getting the implant). The only real result of the lipo was my skin sagged, the inner thighs are now uneven and rippling, and if I gain weight, it does not go on in those areas, so it changed my figure! So, I really am sensitive, don't want to create more problems!

I found dr. khouri in Miami, actually just made an appointment for a consult - but, I started to check reviews online about him and they are horrible. Says he is very arrogant, does spend time with patients, and that the donor site look horrible. One reviewer said she only ended up with 30% of the original volume. I also called the dr who did Suzanne Somers reconstruction. Their office told me that if I was only 115 - to forget it. Gain weight and then make an appointment.

Any insight to the dr's mentioned about and now longer term results of the surgery would be so helpful!!!! Thank you.

PS. I had a similar type of surgery done on hollowness in my cheeks ( a very small amount of fat was needed, like a test tube amount. About 65-70% of the volume stayed after 18 months, and they did save it and use it successfully. They could only save it for 6 months.

Boobies128- thank you for responding back. So I guess I'm going to have to do some thinking- implants or fat transfer.

Thanks so much for this post. Very helpful, as I am slowly coming to the notion that I would like to have this procedure. Dr. Rogers sounds like a great choice. I will have to fly in from out of town, but Robin in the office said they have accommodations for that. From what I have read, saving fat is not a good idea. It seems that by using what is harvested immediately, there is a greater chance for the fat to "take" in it's new location. Needhelp1, look into this a little more before you do it. I don't it's like juvaderm, where it can be held for a later date.

Oakland, i have spoken to Robin as well and I will have to fly from the east side. I have done quite some research on this and some doctors just use different methods. Some docs prefer to save fat because they say it still works and some docs dont like saving it. I think saving fat is cost less as you wouldnt need lipo again but the survival is minimal. My top choice right now is drRogers because his works is good and he is plastic surgery board certified. but to get a second graft will be costly too. Dr.Zavala in Az touch up grafts are all included and the max cost i think is $10k including stem cell. BUT he is not plastic surgery board certified, but i really dont know how important that is if he does it a lot. Also will you be using brava? I hear that acan add another 2 cup difference.

Needhelp1, sounds like you don't need help! I am not looking to do a major increase so I would just go with Dr. Rogers and not have the Brava system. I will look into the Drs you listed to see what they are about. Rogers has a video on his site, which maybe you have seen. Not for the squeamish! But informative: http://www.leifrogersmd.com/2011/07/06/uneven-breast-solution/

this is actually how i found Dr.Rogers, through that video! lol! the other doctor's website that i am looking also is ciaobellamedicalspa.com

That center looks good as well. Wonder why he would not be plastic surgery board certified?

How can you check for a DRs certification? I ask because he offers a plethora of plastic surgery (PS) procedures (e.g., Breast augmentation, fat grafting to breast and buttock, blepharoplasty, etc. I am finding it hard to believe that he is not board certified given the array of PS services offered. I would imagine that there is no law in place which prevents him from continuing with this services and it is more of letting the buyer beware.

Hi boobies I'm planning on having the fat sucked from my stomach to my breasts. Do you know if its possible to go 2 or 3 cups larger since I have a lot of fat around my stomach. Or is there a certain amount they can only inject. Oh and will 12,000 cover the whole procedure if I just want that done?

I am sorry I have not actually had the fat transfer done personally. I have gotten breast implants and have just recently removed them. You can look up my postings from my username. If you want to be 3 cups larger you would need implants. If you want 1-2 cups in size you will need to go back to do more than one fat transfer. I do not know how much you weigh and how tall you are as well as don't know your frame. I am a medical professional and I thought that having larger breast would make me happy but the implants where just to big for my size (personal preference). Also, I didn't want to get them smaller because I didn't want to develop or increase scar tissue if I needed to exchange them throughout the rest of my life.

If you are considering fat transfer you must look for a good surgeon. You can increase the size significantly but then you will probably need a body lift because you are removing a lot of fat at one time and the skin doesn't retract that quickly. It is better to get the fat from the belly a little at a time where you can allow the skin to retract back. I am still doing some research in regards the best way to have fat transfer done. Dr. Khouri from Miami Breast Center looks like he does a great job if you check out his website. I saw Dr. Roger's work from a posting in realself. He looks like he does a great job as well but I would like to see the results of the donor site as well. I have read that tumuscent liposuction is the proper way to harvest fat and transfer. However, I am trying to look into how vaser and body jet from two other practioners (dr. Broadway from co and Dr. Malan from az) say survival of fat transfer is still >90%. I suggest doing more research. You also need to think about did you have kids yet? because they will get bigger than what they are and as you get older you will need a lift if you get them really big and the scarring for that is not eye candy either. I also suggest talking to michellef since she has experienced the fat transfer herself with great results.

Dr. Khouri doesn't finance. How will I be able to afford to fix my breast after explant? I hope I will be okay
  • Reply
boobies128- If your implants are the 1st set and still relatively new, chances are you will look your normal after explantation. It is usually when you have had them a long time and removed & replaced with tissue loss each time that would make you a candidate for corrective surgery. I wouldn't get too worked up you might come out of this not needing the fat grafting. I had implants for 18yrs, remove/replaced 7yrs ago and removed again this yr and had tissue loss during the various procedures. I was left with no tissue on left breast at all. I had to do the fat graft to look "normal".
Does Dr Khouri take credit cards or CareCredit? CareCredit works like a credit card. You can apply thru their website and they send you a plastic card that is revolving medical credit. I paid mine off and had the original amount of credit available to use other places and used it at my dentist office already.

Dr. Khouri does not take carecredit they are straight up cash.

I had 450 ccs for 8 years. When I took them out they were relatively normal looking after about 6 months (it took time for the skin to retract). I also had a fat graft (unsuccessfully to say the least) at the same time, and even after all of the fat has dissipated my breasts, though little, are relatively normal looking.

Hi BellasFatTransReview- Over the last few years I have noticed a trend in regards to implant removal. Those who had larger breasts to begin with have a much better end result after removing implants. On the other hand, those like me who had very little breasts or chest fat have a horrible result upon removal. Each time the implants are removed some of the natural breast tissue is removed as well. Also, it depends on how much you scar around the implant. If you experience capsular contracture that is the natural breast tissue hardening and essentially becoming dead tissue. This tissue is lost with each subsequent removal/replacement. So, if you have very little tissue to lose in the first place you end up with thin skin and the muscle wall and nothing else. This was my predicament and the thin skin attaches down to the muscle wall in a rippled effect and it hurts. There is a constant painful tugging/pulling sensation with every movement of the underlying muscle. I am glad you were able to remove your implants and have a decent end result. If you saw my results you would not consider it an acceptable to live with situation; nobody would. So for all the very skinny girls out there with small breasts, I highly recommend staying far away from implants. They may seem cool while you're young but as you get older and have to get mammo's or experience other troubling symptoms, the coolness wears off!! Bellas congrats on your results and small breasts are ok. Some guys actually like smaller breasts. Plus big real ones eventually sag. ;)

Hi Ladies,

So glad I found this post! I was explanted 2 weeks ago and I thought that I would be happy being the "old" flat 34AAA that I was 10 years ago, I'm distraught. I was used to seeing the volume and I loved it but the implants were giving me to much muscle pain I was a 34B with them. I wish I had done better research and gotten it done intandem with fat transfer. Michelle, can you tell us what type of lipo Dr. Rogers did on you? It seems that there are some types that should not be done in order to keep the fat cells alive. Did he use your stem cells? I was considering DR Khouri in Miami because he seems to be pioneer and "best" at it was Dr. Rogers trained by Dr. Khouri? Did you use the Brava system?

Thanks!
