The Happiness That Money Can Buy! Bangkok, Thailand

ORIGINAL POST

WORTH IT$2,800

I'm 36 yrs old, mom of 2 girls age 3yrs and 6 yrs. I was 125 lb before had these 2 kids. I gain about 70 lb on my last pregnancy. I got lots of stretch mark. My weight went down to 136 lb but I can not fit to my old clothes well.

After 3 yrs of exercise and diet, I decided to have tummy tuck and liposuction to get rid of my jello stomach. I went to Thailand to visit my family and had it done over there. I spend 4 nights in hospital. They're great. The nurse checked on me every hour on the first night. They changed my clothes and cleaned me up twice a day. I had the stitches removed on day 7th and went back to shopping on day 10th. I got back on elliptical on the 3rd week, 3 miles at a time. I feel great.

Now I am at 6th weeks. I can wear my old clothes which I wear 7 yrs ago before I have kids! I will upload my picture later.

Wow - you look great! Where in Bangkok did you do this? Bumrungrad? What's your overall impression of the Thai hospital experience? I've been thinking about this but am nervous about being in a foreign country should something go wrong...
I went to Yanhee Hospital. I was nervous at first. My relative is an ENT there. She recommended the doctor for me. This hospital does a lot of plastic surgery. They have more than 10 doctors in this section. They perform lot of surgery a day. I pick this hospital because the doctor practise their skill every day. My aunt also had a face lift with this doctor. She look great.Over 50% of their patient are foreigners.

I had a great experience with all the nurses also. I stayed 4 night after the surgery. Two doctors visited me every day(Post Operation Doctor and my doctor) I had the machine which release pain killer medicine, hooked up with my IV. I was not in lot of pain. I don't know how people can go home right after surgery.
who was your doctor, i'm planning to go so soon

Your tummy and scar look wonderful!   It sounds like you have had a really easy recovery and doing excellent.  Shopping on day 10 post op...WOW.   Did you have any back pain at all?

Thank you for sharing your journey with is.  Keep us up to date on your recovery process.

Yes I did had back pain during first two week since I could not walk straight. I did some Yoga poses to help with my back pain. Of course, I pick the poses that won't stretch my tummy.

I decided to share my journey because realself.com helped me made the decision. I had never had a surgery before in my life. I was afraid that I will make a wrong decision. But after I read people journey on realself.com, I had more confident. And I did it! I really happy about the result.

I am so happy that RealSelf was of help to you during your decision making and planning.  Keep us updated on your progress.
