I’ve been getting messages to do an update about my surgery and everything is pretty much the same as before. My butt is still uneven and after the swelling has come down I now see that my lipo’ed areas on my abdomen and sides are uneven as well. I went for a consultation with Dr. Ricardo Rodriguez to discuss a revision and a tummy tuck, hopefully I will be able to fix everything by the end of this year. However, I will continue consult with other doctors. Also the swelling on my upper right butt cheek that I mentioned in my previous reviews is actually dead fat that I will have to get lipo’ed out. I don’t want to bring any drama to my review so I will say this…believe the negative reviews and pay attention to the red flags. I haven’t been on the site in a while but it looks like Dr. Salama isn’t as popular as he once was before. I wish I would have gone to another Dr for my BBL and had not fed into the Salama craze. But you get what you pay for. I will try to post pics in a few days. If you have any questions feel free to message me.

I’m 2 months post-op today and everything is...
I’m 2 months post-op today and everything is pretty much the same. I still have swelling around my abdomen and lower back. I brought a waist clincher so I don’t wear my full body garment any more. It seems that my butt has fluffed out but is still uneven. The right side is fuller and rounder and the left side will need a touch up. It’s obvious that my upper back wasn’t lipoed because my fat hangs over my waist clincher. So I guess when I get my touch up I will get that taken care of. I’m more pleased with my lipo than I am about my butt. My butt does not look like a Salama butt and I’ve seen girls with much better results than mines. I guess it’s all a gamble no matter how much you research or how many reviews you read.

Hey girl.. I'm so sad that you are feeling this way. I too am scheduled for surgery w/ Salama but I have been having concerns. Lately mosst of the girls kee saying they r either going for a round 2 for a bigger booty or they need a revision. I'm worried that I'm going to spend my hard earned money and still not be satisfied at the end. What tye of complications did u have? I think u look great but only u know how u feel. I'm getting mad that your are not the only girl saying that they don't feel their upper back was lipo'd. I too am starting to wonder if somebody else is helping him w/ the surgeries. And too me that's a big NO!! I'm paying for Dr Salama not somebody else.. I also feel that as a doctor if he sees that a patient has the limit amount of fat in the areas included in the BBL he should not allow them to add on extra areas.. I feel like greed is getting to him..with exception of maybe 3 girls ever since he had that accident he's work is a hit or miss.. Since I already paid I'm not going to cancel but now I know never to jump on a bandwagon. I wish you a happy healing and hopefully everything getss resolved.. Sorry for the long post its just lately a lot of thing I've been reading on RS about Salama have been pissing me off
I had a seroma that had to be drained a few times. It was hard trying to find a Dr that would touch me after my surgery
That is the exact thing I'm trying to avoid. I don't want to choose a doctor just because everyone else is doing it. I really had a come to Jesus moment about all of this.
Did u get the insurance from them? Some girl had a seroma and she had to get drains put in or something like that. The insurance from the office covers it
No I didnt get the insurance, which was dumb on my part. But my regular insurance did cover for my dr visit. However, just because you get the insurance from them doesnt mean a Dr will see after you been touch by someone else.
Hi wantabooty817, I had my surgery on the 10, I consulted with 3 other Drs in all had different opinions about the look I was going for. Dr Salama results gave me hope yes most ladies will have to go for a touch up but I think that's with any Dr. One of my bestie had surgery home didn't travel as a did and she needs touch up her Dr did a hella job on her. She goes back next month her first surgery was in March yes he discounted her.
I get what u mean but I don't agree w/ most ladies will have to go for a touch up. I know people that had surgery and haven't gone back for years. I feel its ok to go bck if you want a bigger booty and the fat reabsorbed but not because you weren't lipo'd right. If full back is included then I better not come out w/ rolls. I know that many girls have unrealistiv expectation nd go for a bbl then add arms and thighs knowing that they are already big to begin with. But I also feel a surgeon needs to do what's best for you and keep it real. If you have back roll and are fat he shouldn't encourage arms or thighs knowing that you will go over the limit. That's setting a patient up because he won't be aggresive in any area.
You are so right. Unrealistic expectations. Girls expect that 8 grand can fix genetics or a lifetime of being unhealthy. I am going into this pretty aware of my limitations to not get bent out of shape.
Unrealistic expectations!!! I know that Salama's work most of the time is good. I feel he sculpts the body good but he needs to not forget about the upper back. But then again I also see girls that are heavy going in thinking they are going too come out looking like Kim K or Nicki.. I know this is a support board and I'm grateful for that. But some girls just have unrealistic expectations. Then they blame the dr for them coming out w/ some fat. I'm like girl u need 2 rounds...lol
I will say Dr salama never said anything about me being too fat/over weight but I knew I carried most of my fat in my stomach. I'm not upset about my upper back not getting done I just will take care of it when I get my touch up. However if I didn't need a touch I wouldn't even bother getting my upper back done
I'm a have to disagree. "yes most ladies will have to go for a touch up" Naw, correction: Most of Dr. Salama patients seem to have to go for a touch up. Its sad that people now believe revisions are normal. People don't get a revised boob job unless it wasn't done right the first time.

Hi Wantabooty817 I am schedule with Dr salama for june next year. at first I was 100% sure that he was among the best ones with the best value!! but now each day that goes by I feel like I made a wrong decision by booking with him., I feel the same way each time I log in I find new threads of girls going for second rounds , and others who didnt get lipo right, I made a thread of why are so many chiks getting a second round and Ruben answered me stating that this is because many girls are overweight, but nooop!! not all the overweight girls are the ones left out with bad results., the other thing is that I am suspecting that this is a way of getting more money out of us seriously!!! what else can it be? all I know is that if I keep seing that hes jobs arent as good as they were im cancelling, by the way Im pissed off too!
I read Rubens comments also and you are right not all the girls are overweight. The first one that complained was fit when she hd her surgery. Some girls say they don't feel they were lipo'd in the upper back. They can say what hey want but I know these girls can't be lying, its their money. Aa good surgeon will let u know from consultation that he/she is not going to work on extra areas because u have the limit amount of fat able to be taken out in the areas included. Even if u do go for a revision you still gotta come out of pocket. I don't care if its discount or not. If you didn't do a good job the first time its your job to fix it for free. And I. Should not have to pay for no anesthesiologist fee. I'm trying my best not to believe that he's having somebody else work on us. I just don't see the same skill he had frorm before.
Most of the girls asking for revisions are not overweight and I'm surprised he even said that. They are complaining about dents, creases, box shapes, and lipo.
They need to sto blaiming it on overweight girls. Yeah there r some girls that need to lose weight before surgery but some girls are complaining about dents and unevenness. They shouldn't blame the patient. Dr S needs to own up to the fact that he's taking too many patients and he doesn't have the time. One minute u can be the "it" doctor and the next u r forgotten.
I don't think the outcome of the persons butt has anything to with a person's weight. I can see how it could effect Lipo. But Dr salama never told me I was too fat or that it was a possibility that he wouldn't be able to Lipo all the areas. Some girls were told to gain weight and he still didn't Lipo fat out of the included areas. Like I said b4 I think he has someone doing someof his work for him.
That's what I was trying to say. Some girls say they don't think he touched their upper back. The outcome of your butt has nothing to do w/ a erson being overweight. The butt comes down to skill and technique. U r not the only one that thinks he has someone helping. Their is no reason for he's skill to have gone down so much unless someone else is doing. I also believe that if someone is heavy he should let them know that he may not be able to lipo other parts as much and also he should tell them not add any more areas.
you are exacly right I noticed that his buts arents as great as before! and the fact that we have to pay their mistakes out of our pockets is upsetting me a lot!! but the worst thing is the fact that he might be getting assisted by other "surgeon"seriously!! but it makes sense because he does many girls in a day and each procedure lasts for about 5 hrs so can he handle that by himself? I dont know Ihope this gets better by next year or I"ll be swithching.
By the way if Dr S keeps doing less than stellar work with necessary round 2's I feel he will start loosing patients. I saw that happen to Dr fuentes and Dr Gongora from Tijuana. They were both hot for a minute on mmh but now nobody talks about them.. With the waiting list Dr Salama has and some unfavorable reviews he is going to lose patients. I had never heard about him before RealSelf and this was about 8 months ago. At first all the girls were banging and none spoke about a round 2 that's what convinced me. Now things have changed. I'll see if this keeps going on I'm going to find out if they give full refunds.. I never hear about Dr Jimerson and round 2's.. Sometimes is better to pay more and get what you want. One round w/ Dr J is about 10g's at the rate Dr S is raising he's price they will both be neck and neck.
And this is what I've been noticing for the last few months. His operation has been running like a warehouse. Sloppy...sort of like Wal-Mart. When you go to Wal-Mart its annoying waiting in long lines (Waiting 8 months to a year for surgery with Salama). Customer service isn't that great when there's so many people walking around the store (patients feel rushed, broken communication exists, etc). The food quality isn't as great when it comes to fresh produce at Wal-Mart (Salama's quality of work is not at the same level as before). This is what happens when people are more concerned with quantity over quality. They turn into Wal-Mart lol
exactly! Not to mention the reason he can't give people good advice before surgery is because he doesn't adequately review them. His patients don't even have the chance to meet with him, greet him. They're just rushed into surgery and thrown on the conveyor belt. Another number.

You r right. After I paid for my surgery nobody has contacted me.. I feel that even if you have a year waiting list you should at leasst check up on your upcoming patients. I need to find out about their refund/ cancellation policy. I am not going to settle for mediocre results. I am not cattle waiting to be butchered!!!
I had that same experience. The more I am reading the more I want to cancel and go to Dr. Jimerson. I have heard some bad things a bout him in addition to many other doctors, but not like Dr. Salama lately.

With any surgery it's a gamble. No one knowns how their body is going to react to any surgery. I did go in with a realistic expectations and considering what I looked liked before my surgery I'm pleased with the results of my Lipo. But I would be lying if I said I'm happy with the outcome of my butt. Girls that I know who went to other Dr have never talked about needing touch ups as much as salama. Girls do and I personally think my butt doesn't look like his best work. And Im not mad about my upper back not getting done considering I had a lot of fat on my stomach.
Yeah that's what I meant. I know girls that got work done in Mexico and Colombia and they never need touch ups.. I feel like now w/ Dr S a round 2 is becoming necessary. I think that since many girls start talking about round 2 before having a round 1 he doesn't feel the need to do he's best work. I'm glad u at least say the you are not happy w/ the outcome of your butt because some girls on here sound complacent. I hate reading "I still have upper back fat but I look better than before." This surgery is not a joke. The money we save and the emotional and physical stress we put ourselves and loved ones through is not funny. A round 2 is not an option for me. I'm not adding any extra areas of lipo cause I want him to work on the fat I already have. But I will be going to my country to have my arms and knees done..lol

The reason why I won't do my surgery in Colombia is because this is my first surgery ever nd I don't know how my body will react to anesthesia and stuff. My mom feels better w/ me doing it in the states and having whatever other surgery I need in the future in my country.
From what I’ve been told when it comes to lipo done outside of the hospital the Dr has a limitation of how much fat they can remove, whereas Drs who do lipo inside a hospital dont. Dr. Salama claims he can only lipo up to 4liters of fat at a time so that’s something to take into consideration.
Right Chrissy, but the 4 liter limit is Florida law. So all Florida doctors have to abide by it. The limit in Georgia is 5. I live in Florida between the 2 states, so I've been all on it lol. But anybody in Florida should take the limit into consideration and focus in on the target areas.
True, my friend, her mom, aunt and grandma all had their surgeries in Colombia. My friend just got lipo and a BBL from there a few months ago. She's happy with her results, but I'm still uncomfortable with traveling there. She went to Bogota.
ok i didnt know it was like that in FL. I know here in MD the Dr can lipo as much as they want as long as they are in a hospital, which seem that a lot of Drs do and the reason BBL are so much more money up here.
Yes, but the 4 liter limit is on office-based procedures. Not sure about the hospital. So you're still right.

Just a quick update.....So this Thursday (9/13/12)...
Just a quick update.....So this Thursday (9/13/12) I will be 8weeks post-op and things are getting better. The swelling is going down and becoming less frequent. My butt is starting to look more even but I still have a little bit of swelling on the right cheek and it still hangs a little lower than the left. My left cheek has a dent, so I guess that is where the fat didn’t take. It also looks squarish. I already had a wide squarish butt before the surgery so I guess I will always have one no matter how much surgery I get. My stomach is looking really good considering I didn’t get a tummy tuck. I still have hardness in some areas but it’s much flatter than before the surgery. My feeling about my surgery has taken a complete 180 turn and I’m happy I did it. But I will be getting a touch up to fix where the fat didn’t take. However, I still don’t know if I will be going back to Dr.Salama for my touch up.

Thanks. I'm feeling better I don't think my butt looks as good as some of the other girls tho. I guess I'm more pleased with my Lipo more than my butt

did you like it? its on my list. i think you look great but i know how you see yourself is more important.i really concerned now tht someone else is doing the surery im pying for him and no1 else if thats the case i need a new surgeon
Overall it was a nice hotel. However, I booked a room with 2 beds and when I got there they said they could only give me a king but was willing to switch my room when a 2 bed became available. And again like I said I’m not 100% sure about him having help, its just speculation.
Glad to hear you are liking your results, that gives us hope that haven't been thru this yet. @ Chrissy, I promise you I was thinking about thesame thing, about Dr S having someone helping him do the Sx, because it dosen't make sense why there are alot of unhappy sistas. I just like the way he sculpture the bootay :))
I would say I like my Lipo results more then my butt results. And I wouldn't be surprised if he had someone helping it was just some things I noticed that makes me believe he does

Its just a lot of added expensive and time. Also I had complications and I would have had more reassurance if I was able to see Dr. Salama in person rather than communicating through email and over the phone. I also had to pay more money out of pocket to get my problems taken care of by a local doctor. Also some doctors are not willing to help you after you seen someone else.

i hear you and you are correct. many of you guys that are not local need to consider complications and post opt treatment when you get back home. It would be good to find a doctor to treat you in the event of complications prior to having surgery because most doctors dont like treating someone elses patients. good luck
