I am having my saline implants removed this Friday! I have had them since February of 2007. I was at a different place in my life at the time and thought they would give me more self-confidence. Instead, I feel more self conscious with them because they are much larger than I was wanting. I have never felt comfortable with them and have always tried to hide them with loose clothing. I was a B-cup before implants and originally wanted to be a C-cup. Somehow, I ended up being a DD after implants and the birth of my child (2.5 years ago). My original PS kept telling me that they wouldn't look as large after they "settle". Well, five years later...they are still too large for me.

I have finally decided that I don't want to go through life trying to conceal my large bust anymore. I am really looking forward to having them removed this Friday. I have opted not to have a lift initially. I think I will probably need one later but I wanted to take a conservative approach and take my time. I will just have to see how much breast tissue I have now and how much elasticity I have left. Hopefully they will bounce back and look similar to what they looked like before implants.

Well, I had my surgery yesterday! I arrived at the hospital at 6 am and was brought into the OR at 7:30 am. I was pretty nervous beforehand but the staff at the hospital was very nice and calming. I had both implants out with capsulectomy on both sides. I am a little sore now. I was very drowsy on my way home from the hospital and all I could manage to eat was a smoothie, but it helped. I have drains on both sides, which I have to empty and record the volume of output every 4-6hours. The good news it that it has been less and less each time. I was told I can take the wrap off after 24 hours when I can take a shower. I will post pics later. I am just SO glad its over!

Well, I am going to go ahead and post some after pics. They are pretty deflated looking right now. These pics are taken less than 24 hours after the operation. I hope they will begin to fluff up in the next few weeks. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Well, it's been 4 days since my surgery. I am supposed to get my drains taken out tomorrow at my post-op appointment. I can already tell that my breasts are starting to firm up a bit! I have been told to wait at least 6 months to see how well the skin will tighten up. So far, so good!

Unfortunately, my PS didn't remove the drains when I went to my post-op appointment yesterday. He said that the output is still too high according to the drain logs I have been keeping. I will have to wait until Saturday. I actually don't mind if it is the safer way to go. He was worried that I would develop a seroma if they were pulled to early. Apparently when you have capsulectomies the drainage output is higher since there has been more trauma to the tissue. I am feeling great and loving the way I look in clothes now. Once the drains are out, I will finally be able to start working out again. It will be so nice to be able to jog again if I want. I will post some new pics soon since tomorrow will be 1 week post explant.

I am 7 weeks post surgery now. I have noticed that my skin is continuing to tighten up. I am glad I didn't have the lift procedure at this point. I feel like I am back to my natural self now. Implants are almost a distant memory. Good luck to everyone contemplating having their implants removed!

Hi, I am having a reduction, I wanted an explant but fear of what that my look like. I was an A cup went to a C cup and now want to replace my saline to a B cup silicone. My Dr suggested to consider a lift which I don't really want. I waas wondering do you have any children? I ask because I may not look as good as you do.

Please let me know your DR. I am in Dallas and was just quoted $7100 for exactly what you had done. I am still in shock. You look awesome! Pictures are so,helpful. I think our stories are very similar but I am older and have had these triple Ds way longer. Still, going to explant only and wait six months before doing a lift.

Wow. i read your post and your story is so similar to mine that Imhad to reply. Thank you for posting pictures! I went for one consult this week and will need a capsulectomy on booth sides and may need a lift. But I am 53 and have had mine about 20 years. Still, thinking to wait six months to see what I am left with. I should have a C the DR thinks after instead of DDDs! So tired of being self conscious. This DR's price however is so much higher than what you paid that I am contemplating driving to Austin from Dallas. Please let me know your DR s name. Thanks!

Well, day 4 since my surgery. I don't look quite as well as your pictures. Very deflated, very wrinkled. Is there anything that can be done during the healing process to help tighten and firm at all?

I think it just takes time. However, I did use a skin firming lotion. I don't know if it really helped or not, but it can't hurt.

I am so glad I could help someone make this decision. This website really helped me too because it is real people and real results rather than photoshop doctored pics from the plastic surgeon's office.

Thank you for posting this. I am supposed to have mine taken out on Friday and my doctor called today to make sure that I really want them out, because he cannot guarantee the outcome. I'm not very scared. But, so glad to see your great results!

Hi ready2Bnatural....you look awesome!!....wanted to get your Drs name in Austin Texas ....I live in san antonio texas and had really bad luck with doctors here ...austin is very close to me....can you PLEASE tell me your drs name?
