I had a large hematoma discovered the morning...

I had a large hematoma discovered the morning after surgery. It was like 2 grapefruits hanging from my neck. I went to the dr he suctioned it off. Next 3 days orange jelly ball, suctioned again, next 3 days golf balls, suctioned again it was gone with firm dried blood under skin. thankful dr. Kim was aggressive and kept suctioning wound. It was a nightmare. I couldn't find much on here so I am writing a review. It was very scary. I was told that it would take 6 weeks by another dr. to be absorbed by the body and go down. I am surprised that so little treatment plans for hematomas exist. I looked horrible and couldn't imagine having 6 weeks like this. I am 13 days in. The third suction (with a lipo suction machine) took all the jelly blood out and I am left with what feels like a scab (hardened dried blood) I also had fraxel under the eyes and fat injections. I am very happy with these two procedures. The verdict is out on the neck surgery. I grew a beard to hide all the bruising. I am 45 and in good health and work out regularly. I have noticed that the extra skin that was hanging under my chin is gone. That is what I wanted. Dr.'s that I talked to said it was extra fat and mainly that my skin was thick and caused the area to hang more than I wanted.

I am 13 days out of neck lift surgery. Dr. Kim has...

I am 13 days out of neck lift surgery. Dr. Kim has been very attentive to the hematoma. so far, i feel very comfortable with the aftercare (although it has been a nightmare). He suctioned a lot of blood the morning after surgery. I saw him the next day (saturday) i still had a ball of blood on both sides of my neck. He met me in his office sunday and took about 10cc of blood off. I am still very scared at this point. I met him wednesday in his office and he suctioned me with his lipo machine. I was left with two golf balls of blood. I went in monday and he suctioned me again. Tuesday when i woke up i was left with two patches (sheets) of hard blood under my chin and cheek line. At this point I am very happy to be rid of the balls of jelly like blood. I am writing this on 9/26. The surgery was 9/13.

Well, a 1 month update. I still have a golf ball...

Well, a 1 month update. I still have a golf ball size hematoma on my left side, and a 1/2 x 1 inch band on the left side, under the chin is a 1/2 inch of soft tissue or (firm jelly). I saw Dr Kim again yesterday 10/25. I think that he was disappointed that more wasn't dissolved. He was concerned that I mace have some extra skin under my chin. I hope not. Dr Kim seemed to think that I may take 4 more weekes. For the past two weeks I've been putting on warm compresses and a vibrator (per his suggestion). Now I've been aggressively massaging it with my fingers and in one day I can tell a difference in size (a little bit). Anyway I'll keep you posted.

Dr. Kim was very attentive with the whole hematoma complication. He even came into his office on a Sunday to check and drain the hematoma. I found him through another service provider.Updated on 26 Sep 2012:My hematoma was very scary. I wrote a separate review. I am very happy with his attentiveness so far.
