My phone consult with Dr J and his staff exceeded my expectations. After a recent divorce and total new lease on life, I've decided to "do me". I'm a LUPUS survivor of 10 years and I want to celebrate it. Once I get medical clearance, I will be reserving my date. The thought of elective surgery may sound crazy to some ppl but to me, it's a chance worth taking.

I'm scheduled to have my BBL with Dr. O Dec 4- 2 weeks!! My b-day is Dec 8 so HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!
The ladies of REALSELF have been very helpful & supportive. I could not have made this decision without them.
I'm looking forward to the "new me" for the new year. In the words of Fantasia- I'M DOING ME THIS TIME AROUND!

title of the post has changed. I'm officially scheduled for my transformation Dec 4- 2 WEEKS!!! I'm going with Dr Okoro because he has worked with Lupus patients before, he has more to offer, and does the procedure with you awake- lessens the recovery time. My before is horrible but I'm considering posting. I'll post my journey when it begins.

OMG!! U neva know how useful your butt is until u can't sit in it. I have been creative but this is for the birds.
I JUST WANNA SIT DOWN!!! LOL
I am officially off my antibiotics & pain meds. I have no bruising & surgical sites are beginning to form scabs. I don't have wi-fi & the pics are taking forever to load so I'll have to do it when I get home- tomorrow. I can't wait!!

3 weeks after surgery & I feel amazing. Still with some swelling & tenderness in my abdominal area & flanks but overall, feeling good. The hardness to my butt continues to decrease & it's beginning to feel more natural. I still can't sit for extended periods of time but I'm getting used to it. The abdominal binder will force you to have split personalities but it's well worth it.

BEAUTY IS PAIN!!

4 weeks post op- doing good. I still have swelling to my flanks, lower abs and lower back- but not much. My butt is soft and jiggly with only a few sections still hard and healing. My boyfriend told me it's gonna take him a while to get used to me having booty, he had accepted I would never have any-lol. All soreness to my abdominal area is gone but my flanks are still very very sensitive. My hips are still sore but since I still can't sleep on it, I only feel it when I turn over. I've been told- you didn't need to have surgery. I've been told- that's a waste of money. I've been told- that makes no sense. But at the end of the day, even with me still healing, I am happy and satisfied. The only downside is I cannot wear any of my cothes. They fit my butt to perfection but the waist is sooo big, even a belt does not work. After healing it'll be time for shopping. Just in time for the summer!!

It's been two months since my BBL with Dr Okoro. All of the swelling is gone and I'm loving the new me. This surgery has given me a new found confidence that I've never had or ever imagined having. I'm working on getting my tummy tuck by the end of the year. I can't stay out the mirror looking at my slim waste and natural looking booty. I'VE CREATED A MONSTER!

14 months later

Sorry I haven't updated in a while- life caught up with me and I've been busy.
14 months since my surgery and I couldn't be happier. I have confidence that I struggled to have for so many years.
Call me shallow but my new body has changed me physically and mentally.

Hi Real Self Family
I can't believe it's been 2 years already. I am still loving the results from my surgery but I have to admit that I have gain a little weight. The scale is still at 128 lbs but my waist has gone from 28 to 30 inches. It's not a obvious difference but I know it's different. My butt still look good. For those considering liposuction or any other cosmetic procedures you have to be dedicated to a lifestyle change. It is difficult to work, raise a family & stay committed to exercise & eat right. I am still happy with my surgery and happy I decided to get it done.
