Acne Scares, potentional Future Problems! - Athens, Greece
After 1 month after my last treatment i would like...
all the brown spots have gone..all the acne scars are still on my face..but my face looks greater and more fresh because i dont wear make up to hide the brown spots..
as i relized talking with another plastic surgeon, the doctor applied 4 treatments but only the fourth worth it because was in a normal-high speed/power..he actually did that in order to made me buy more treatments..as he told me in my last treatment i needed 3 more to go..that means a total of 7 treatment with fractional laser..i declined..i will see how my face is doing and i will update later..

Hi everybody!
i am woman 31 years old with acne scars and brown spots from old blemishes on my face. I have already went into 4 fraxel treatments. In the first treatment i wasn't red at all, but immediatly my face looked nicer like i have slept for many hours.
In the second treatment after 3 weeks December 2010 i was red only for a few hours after the treatment the result was that i looked very fresh and the brown spots that i had there were gone.
In my third treatment in even higher power my face looked nice but the scars even the little ones were still on my face.
In the 4 treatment i had 2 days ago i become all red. The redness is fading away slowly. I still have the marks of the laser on my face. I believe that everything will fade away normally.
BUT the reason that i write to you is because reading this forum i realised that cosmetic doctors anywere in the planet use the same tricks..He had promised me through his sales representative(that appeared to me as a dermatologist)that fraxel laser has no risks because he have a new machine..He also promised that 90% of the scars will dissapear after the 4 treatment. When i complained that i haven;t seen any improvement he answered me that i need to buy chemical peelings that will be applied between the fraxel treatments. also he told me that fraxel helps only up to 50% of the scars and nothing more(he confenced that after i have prepaid him cash)..lies lies lies..and there is a big threat: the future and how our skin will be in the future is fraxel destroyes colagen?..Fraxel new techniques that we yet dont know the longterm results ..so tommorow i will stop the treatment and demand my money back..everyone must think the stories of people who had the treatment and the results that got in long term, because our lifes hopefully will be long and we only have one face to live in..why not to be the healthy one (no matter if it has its scars?)throurh this forum and the not worth it experiences (people that write their stories are really brave)i learned to love my scars!!!

Hi Greece,
It sounds like you actually were happy with the results except for your scars not going away completely, but that everything else worked out well. Are you still red with laser marks today? Please keep us updated.
Thanks so much for the review,
-Britt
And these before and after photos are at best, deceiving. What they don't mention is how many botox injections these women have had in addition to their fraxel treatments; I'm still waiting for the punch line.
I have obvious scar tissue on my chin and the sides of my face from chronic face picking. It's white, spongy, scar tissue coupled with, what I've been told, is melasma. I want to emphasize that although my face is smooth the scar tissue is not subtle and I am very self-conscious about it, and cannot cover it with makeup. This was NEVER addressed by any of the above mentioned professionals; although I never did talk to the actual dermatologist after having spent 3grand on fraxel. The dermatologist I went to in Fort Worth has a stellar reputation. Hmmm...
Several weeks after my third treatment, I see no difference and the white spots are more prominent and I have permanent raccoon eyes now because the skin around my eyes has darkened. Niiicce... I haven't been on a ski trip since I was 13 but look like I'm perpetually returning from one.
I could write a novel on my experiences (oops, I think I already have) with a few doctors in the Fort Worth area. The few aestheticians I've been treated by are just out to sell a product. The problems I have with my skin consume me and I hate that I don't have enough confidence to not care what the world thinks when it's looking me in the face.. I do care and was very excited to take this step to possibly change that. I believe they really take advantage of your psychological state to really sell you and get your money.
I am VERY unhappy...
