My best friend lives in MI & we both decided to get nose jobs. At my consultation with Dr. Maholtra, I CLEARLY explained I wanted a dramatic change. I am African-American & wanted a thinner bridge & pointy tip. Of course he yessed me to death, I paid & had the surgery done. After looking at the same nose post surgery, I called & voiced my concerns. The staff told me it would take up to a year to notice a change. A year came & I was still stuck with the same nose! So I went to a surgeon in Beverly Hills & had a revision, which is what I should've done initially! The best surgeons practice in Beverly Hills for a reason! Don't get me wrong, Maholtra is nice, but I'd rather a rude surgeon that got the job done!

About my pictures

Please do not be distracted by the hair, make up & cleavage. I'm focusing STRICTLY on my nose. It is indeed crooked & I'd it needs to be a tad thinner & pointier.

Great review?

Dear Barbie82 I am sooo sorry abt ur experience although we can all seat and judge the situation the fact is you forked over $15k for something u want and didn't even get it. I think more than anything i would be mad about that. I want a smaller version of my natural nose and im blessed to have the surgeon be totally honest about what he can do, not bc of his inability but bc of the shape if my nose and the thickness of my skin.i am so happy that i am content with that i can only afford to do it once & so whatever i end up with is what

I get. Looks like ur aiming for perfection and with the price invested in that nose you have every reason to.

Im sorry but your nose looks alot better after the surgery. In the pictures you posted you cannot tell you nose is crooked.

But more importantly, I can tell.

Thanks! I hope so! I had braces twice!

I can only wish! Did you really pay 4,500 to get it done? I called and they said 8k.
  • Reply
Yes. That was in 2010. There's NO way he was worth the $4,500 I paid & he for damn sure isn't worth the $8k you were quoted! He did mine & my best friend's two weeks apart from one another & we both paid $4,500. You can ask about Ms. Hawley flying from California to get hers done, but you've been forewarned. He's going to yes you to death about what you want but he won't be able to achieve that look. Neither myself, or my best friend are happy w/our results...

Hi! First of all, I think you look absolutely gorgeous. I have been looking at your photos for like 10 minutes now trying to understand what you're saying. To be completely honest, I do see how it is a little crooked however I would have NEVER noticed if you didn't say that. If you want it thinner and pointier, then that's up to you of course but I think it looks so pretty. Really. I do understand why you are frustrated because you wanted something else and you had a vision in your mind of what it would be like or look like. I'm sorry you aren't happy! I hope you find the result you're looking for or find peace with what you have now. You look amazing! xo

Looking at your nose before any surgery I can see what you mean by when you say there wasn't much difference between that and the post op after your first surgery. Even though there still was improvement. You had an idea of what you wanted and didn't get it so you did the revision and it looks great. It looks better then your nose before surgery and also better then the first surgery. It's refined, nice, fits your face and makes you look even more beautiful. So why put your self at risk and have a third surgery you know? Even if there is a slight improvement it doesn't really out weigh the risks involved and the regret you might have which I hope won't be the case if you decided to do it.

What risks exactly?

You are beautiful but the one photograph does make my eyes automatically navigate to your nose. It's not an ugly nose by any means, but for that price and for you to go in with an exact description of what you want, I would expect it to look like exactly what you described. Most people just say they want a smaller nose which can mean 100 variations, but u had your facts and image right from the start. I would not go back to the same doc unless he can assure you be can fix it OR he refunds you and offers to pay a highly skilled doc to correct it. Then you will probably have to refer a few "friends" to him for him to make or break even. (Don't send any close friends unless he can do it the way you want it. Lol) but your simply gorgeous and you and everyone already knows it. Good for you to stand up for what you were promised and what you want and believe in. I wish I was brave and attractive enough to add my photo. :)

Oh, and offer to remove or update your comment if the doc can or does make it right. I'm sure that a post this big and on going can make a huge difference in the future business for that area. (Michigan? I'm not sure though that I would get anything else done there, I would stick to McLean, Virginia. Bethesda, MD, or just go back to Cali and pay the plane ticket price and still save money since its so competitive there. It's just I can't take all that time like I did when I got my nose done there 4 years ago. (Irvine) still good docs there and just as competitive in price. Good luck to you, can't wait to see the new revision. I hope you don't have any bad scaring being hat you had multiple cuts on the same Area.

I live in Cali. Thanks. I'll try one last time & hopefully it's done correctly.

Perfect, you will be fine and I wish u the best. If after the 3rd attempt, ur still not satisfied, give it a couple of years and reassess your vision. Mine has changed like 2 times since I did mine and I wish I went for a more natural look. Yours still looks natural after 2 surgeries so either your nose was really different before, or they barely did anything, or I'm just that superficial about noses. Probably all of the above, lol, use this website to your best advantage when researching another doc. Mine retired shortly after mine, and probably should have retired like 10 years before he even did mine but he still had that Cali rhino touch. I just don't remember even researching it online back then, I used friends of mine who had done theirs at the same doc, and they look amazing. (You look amazing too, but if your not happy, then u gotta fix it or u will just never be happy with it and it will bother u more and more as time and age goes by. I'm probably a little bit younger than you but I look older because I can't stop tanning and getting microdermabrasion and then tanning like the day after. Ugh!!!!!) I'm just never going to be happy with what I got am I. I need to post a pic so I can get some wonderful compliments like you did, to keep my confidence up. But I'm not going to let people talk me out of what I want and how I want it to look. :)

Exactly. Every time I go in to see the doctor who did my revision, he tells me my nose is fine...sure. I will never understand why doctors won't tell you if they can't achieve the results you want! Grrrr

I really don't see anything wrong with your revision. Are you sure a third nose job is worth the risk?

forget the nose.. who did your boobs?

do you have to pay full price for the revision?

Ok yes the bridge looks a litte swollen? Remind me, how far post-op are you? I just wonder whether it is swelling that will subside in a few months? Also, I can see now that the primary result is not as convincing in the latest picture that you posted. I am due to have my procedure in a month. I am already experiencing lots of negativity from my black (predominantly female) friends who tell me that my nose isn't THAT big, and that that is just how black noses are supposed to be (all of these girls have noses half the size of mine and are not ridiculed by other black males and females because of it!!). I have just decided to what is best for me.
