Almost Three Months Since My Surgery - New Pictures!
$9,500
I am feeling blessed! I did not have the extreme pain that some of my fellow tummy tuckers endured! I have gone from wearing sizes 14-16 to a size 10!! My granddaughter, a college woman in her 20's, commented that I look like I am in my 30's. I'll definitely take that compliment especially since I will turn 67 tomorrow! I want to express my love and appreciation to my amazing husband who was so helpful and nurturing from the beginning; he faithfully applied coconut oil to my surgical scar, massaged the back areas that were liposuctioned (most painful daily part), and helped me hook and zip my garment until I could do it myself! Below are a few pictures; I plan to include some, with clothes on, in the near future.

Hard Day
"Very Hard Day" (pun intended)! Although I'd read of so many having a difficult time going poo, I was not prepared for what I endured! Knowing all the possibilities, I made sure to keep myself hydrated, ate lots of prunes, drank hot coffee, juices, at fresh fruit, and walked! Did any of that make it any easier? NO! I drank MOM (maximum amount allowed), took Colace, took a women's gentle stimulant laxative, and finally, after many hours and countless times of trying to go, I was successful, but not without pain - OUCH! OUCH! OUCH! (at least the pain was not on my TT sutures, BB, nor my lipo areas! As much as I've done to go, I'll probably be sleeping on the toilet tonight!

I definitely know what you mean but you will get through this with flying colors just like the rest of us did! Even though it was hard for me poop, I was scared to do it anyway bc I thought that I was going to tear my stitiches. I really think that they gave us something so that we wouldn't have to poop so soon so we wouldn't tear the stitches, welllll, that's my thought on that. Happy healing!
I'm sure I will, I just fear the unknown. Being under anesthesia for 6 hours is freaking me out a little.... ok a lot. I just keep thinking if I wake up the healing will be fine. I think about the surgery every waking hour and sometimes wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. 9 days and counting.
By the way Goldy, I was under anesthesia for 5 1/2 hours and it was fine! Focus on the great outcome!
I think that we all thought that way. I even thought abt waking up during surgery too but everythink turned out fine in the end as far as the surgery. Best wishes!
Thank you! 5 days and counting. Tuesday August 19, 0930 is my day and time. I'm thinking about 1530 when I should be waking up. How soon did you guys wake up? Did you get up right after you woke up?
I went in at about 8:30 and was being helped into our SUV by 3:45. I was in surgery 5.5 hours and it included TT, back lipo, stomach lipo, and two small hernia repairs of my umbilicus.
Ok. That sounds good. I'm having TT, breast lift augmentation, lipo flank and stomach. PS says 6 hrs. Most if that's sewing. 4 days to go. I'm getting anxious.
Honestly, I don't even remember! My daughter said that I was asking her questions that she had already answered. I know that it was the meds. but it was only like that for the surgery day. Best wishes with your surgery!
Thank you days and counting!
Tomorrow's the day. I'm trying to keep myself busy so I won't be thinking too much. I'm a little anxious. I got called into work so I'm going just to occupy my mind. I think I have everything. I read all my literature. I guess I only need toiletries for my overnight stay. Well, the journey begins. I just want to wake up and get up.
You will wake up, get up and start your renewed journey to the you of your dreams. Let me know how it goes!
Can't sleep too nervous.
On my way to surgery center. Didn't sleep last night. Headache this morning. Miss my coffee. Not a crazy mess like I thought I would be but still anxious. My husband is more nervous than I am.
You should now be able to use all your energy to recover! Let us know how you're doing!
WOKE UP AND GOT UP! Now 7 hours post op. Doing great, staying overnight at the surgery center had TT with lipo and breast lift with aug. Doc said everything could not have gone any better. anesthesiologist is now my BFF. Used Exparel for added pain relief that has 48 hours anesthetic affect on abdomen and breasts. Still some pain upon waking but nothing a little IV Pain medicine didn't fix. Got up out of bed after about 6 hours, got nauseated but caught it in time and fixed that with Zofran IV. Still kind of nauseated so settling down with phenergan, oxygen, and another IV of pain med.
bottom line.. doc said he could not be happier with the results, anesthesiologist said there was not even one hiccup... And now my night nurse knows we are active participants in our health care. Life is good and my husband is thrilled with what he sees even with the bandages.
Have a nice and easy recovery. Post pics wen you're feeling better. Happy healing newby!
You went through it like a champ!
Good for you goldy! I am so happy that things went well! Now you can just focus on getting to the "finish line" to your desired ultimate new you! Please post some pictures.
I will! Thank you! ;)
I came home yesterday it was a good day. Today is brutal, nauseated everytime I get up. Getting some Zofran. Percocet keeping my pain under control . But when it wears off look out . I just want to be able to eat so I can heal.
I hope you can get the nausea under control so you CAN eat something. Saltine crackers are a good, light snack. Are you eating a little something before taking your Percocet (saltines are good). If you don't eat something first, you will be nauseated. Hope your day gradually gets better for you! : )
Yes, I have been eating crackers prior to taking my Percocet. I got zofran for the nausea and am better. Took a shower last night. I may be done with my Percocet. I feel really good today. I think the Percocet was giving me a headache. Dreading the big BM. I have been taking MOM and only have gas.
I feel for you - I had such an awful day when I first tried to go. I took MOM, Ducolax, suppositories, and Colace! I am taking Colace only daily now and everything is under control. My PS (after I had done all the stuff I listed) told me I could take MiraLAX daily without it becoming habit forming. I mixed a packet with apple juice and it did not alter the taste; this product is tasteless with anything you choose to mix it into. I do hope you do not have as bad a time as I had!
Good luck with the BM. I got good results with MOM 30cc after 2nd night dose. I also wore a Phenergan patch to prevent nausea for 48 hours post op and had no nausea.
Watching you all and wishing you a smooth recovery. My TT revision/ lipo was a week ago today. Still have a drain but doing very well
Has anyone had problems with pain in an arm or leg? Like from being strapped on the OR table for hours in the same position? I'm having right arm pain and left leg pain. When I position my arm like they had it in the OR I can feel the pull. Any of this make sense?
I didn't. I think it's worth asking a call to your PS to ask about it, though - I would have called if I had those symptoms.
Congratulations ! Things should get better every day Scorpio 66.
That first BM is a killer. Ugh
Looking good! I'm following you closely as my TT modification and lipo is Friday AM, 8/15. I'm not find of general anesthesia even though last year was just fine and my only other time was a 1987 C- section. I'll be glad to be on the other side again on Friday afternoon!!
Thank you cindy63; today has been a whole lot better! I'm a bit swollen today - to be expected - but I'm on my way to healing more and more. My husband has been my rock through this whole thing!! I hope your TT modification goes well; please do stay in touch and post pictures as soon as you can!
Thank you cindy63; everything was so much better today! We even went to lunch with my sister-in-law and husband who were visiting from out-of-state! I am a bit swollen, but I expected this and it won't be the last time during the healing process. My husband has been my rock through all this and he has been wonderful! I hope your TT modification goes very well - do stay in touch, keep me posted, and share pics! ; )
Good luck! I'm 4 days behind you. My prayers are with you. Keep us posted .

Will do!! Have a great day!
Sure will! You too
My TT revision with lower back/ hip lipo was yesterday AM and I am doing great. Still on narcotic every 6 hours but I think I'll go to ES Tylenol or Allieve soon. One drain draining pretty heavily and sleeping in the recliner but not bad!! I'll write more later as I have a friend arriving now
Ok. Thanks. This is great info keep me informed please
My very best wishes for a quick, uneventful recovery!
Thank you. 2 more days.
Congrats! I'm glad that you came out of surgery successfully. Continue having a good recovery. You must be feeling alright to have a friend over, that's good!
Just drove myself to my 5 day post op check up. No narcotics since Monday - just ES Tylenol. Drain in for a few more days but suture line looks excellent. Hips look just like pre-op but Dr. B says he removed 3 liters!!!! I'm tired from the "active AM" but feeling very happy with my progress so far. Pictures are posted on my full profile. Thanks again for all your support!!!!!
Second time around and you seem to be handling everything well - good going! I, too, have not had any pain issues and I am walking pretty much straight. I took the narcotic pain med on the day of surgery and one more day; on the third day I took only Advil and my pain level was absolutely tolerable! The only issue I'm dealing with on a daily basis is swelling - some days better than others. I am being careful about salt intake and I am walking daily. I'm also wearing support socks to help more with the leg/ankle/foot swelling. Although I like what I see, despite the swelling, I look forward to seeing the week by week improvement! I see my PS this Friday to have TT stitches removed, as well as the remaining belly button stitches removed! cindy63, I hope you heal quickly from your newest procedure! ; )
Hi, I am impressed by your positive state of mind throughout the journey. You must be happy with the result as you look great. Keep positive and enjoy the family assistance and support, it makes a difference. I start my journey on Sept. 18th with a fluer de Lis TTuck.
I am very happy with my results thus far! I haven't been able to post more pics - yet - because my digital camera is malfunctioning (scared it to death with my 'before' pics is what I'm guessing) and I don't have a "smart" phone so I will have to borrow my husband's camera! Best of everything with your procedure on the 18th; stay positive and things will not seem so difficult! ;)
Went back to work last week. 2 weeks post op. 12 hr days. Did fine. By Saturday I was exhausted and just wanted to nap on and off all day. I am very pleased with my results. Hope to get my drain out and tape off this Wednesday when I go back to the PS.

Congratulations! Just remember to be kind to your body and it's still healing even though you feel good enough to do things. Rest is the best!
Ah yes, I will rest! Thank you azsunshine!
Oh my gosh! I am 59 and having TT, lipo, and breast lift with augmentation on August 19th. I am so happy to hear from women my age having this done. I too am scared. One day I am so excited and the next I am asking myself "why are you doing this to yourself?" I just want the 19th to get hear so I don't have to think about it anymore.
Your feelings are more common than not. I, too, went through them. Now that it's over, I am sooo happy I did it. I was blessed with such a great PS and staff! Hang in there, the 19th will be here before you know it!
Thank you. This is the best site! Loved following your story. You are so fresh out I am hanging on to your every detail.
Thank you goldy! I will post more pics as I progress! I'll see my doctor next on August15! I am so happy that I had a drain-free TT - not having to deal with those drain tubes has been wonderful!
The flatside will be here before you know it. I still can't believe mine was 2 1/2 mos ago. How time flies!
I can't wait to get it over. All I do is think about it. I like thinking about being "on the flat side" soon. 9 days and counting!
I can't wait to see your updated pics. Lucky you no drains. Is that something new? Did you have Exparel? My ps says it's must for pain relief.
No drains; I understand the technique is about 10 years old and my PS has been using it for eight years and, in that times, has had no seromas! My PS did not use Exparel.
Yes, time does fly but, for some reason, this first week has been crawling for me! I will see my PS on Friday, 8/15, and perhaps be able to begin doing more and more of my routine! At least that's what I'm hoping for!
