I do not feel my age and I find it frustrating to have all these skin bulges hanging down. No amount of exercise and diet improves the tummy area and, while I've always had this problem since having two pregnancies - twins in my second pregnancy - it became more obvious since losing 22 pounds since December 2013. I had thought about tummy tuck before but I always thought it would be too expensive and put the thought aside. But, this year I started thinking about it again and began putting a foundation under something that had only been a dream so far! I am so looking forward to this procedure for ME! I am realistic and I know the healing process will not be instantaneous, but I am ready to do whatever my PS requires and to maintain a positive mental attitude along the way! I don't have pics yet, but I will eventually post some.

I actually had reservations about even starting entries here, but I have found everything I've read to be helpful and useful as I await my tummy tuck, with lipo of the hips and back. Absolutely didn't think I would have the courage to post pictures, much less of how things look right now but, if all of have had the courage, why not a "66 year young" woman - so here they are!

Good for you! Hey, you haven't shown your face and most of your friends and acquaintances have probably never seen you dressed like this so who's going to know it's you??? I too was very hesitant to post my ugly before photos so I can totally relate! Too many people on here "forget" to post their "befores" hence they can't compare how far they've come AFTER! I've even read a few reviews were people have regretted NOT taking any "before" photos. Anyway, if you have any regrets about posting these photos you can always delete them (unlike what you've already written).

If you've chosen a really good surgeon then in all probability you'll have great results. As you've probably seen here on RS 96% of tummy tuck clients say it's worth it so chances of not being happy with your results are minimal. One of my friends had a tuck at age 70 and for her it was the best decision she ever made.

I believe I've chosen the best PS in Albuquerque. I was super impressed by the time taken with me during the consult - over two hours! Dr. Hopkins was down-to-earth, friendly, honest, and didn't push me into anything; he only told me what he could do, after providing all the details/information, and left it up to me to decide completely! When I had a consult with a previous PS, he took "maybe" half an hour with me and told me I needed to lose 20 pounds and to contact his office when I was ready. I fully expect to have a positive experience with my tummy tuck and lipo under the expert hands of Dr. Hopkins. And, of course, all the nice encouragement from people like you!

Love your positive attitude! That will help you immensely in your healing process. Best of luck on your surgery!

Awe, thank you! It IS wonderful to know there are so many others here to cheer one another on this exciting journey!

I was skeptical abt posting pics too but as I read the entries abt before and after surgery I started getting comfortable abt doing it. It's a good way of keeping a log and diary of your progress. Sometimes you can find a body that shape like yours and kind of see how the outcome is going to be. There's a lot of info on RS that helped me what I'm going through and a lot of info abt different procedures. I can't stay off this site now. My daughter introduced my to this site, now she's saying that I'm a RSalcoholic. My husband says that I should atleast cover my privates but I tell him that nobody knows who I am, he told me that one of the days someone will post me on a [RS bleep] site. That time will come so fast before you'll know it you will be on the flatside too. Just hang in there. Take care.

Thank you! That's what I try to do as well: look for someone who may have my body shape and, perhaps, my age group. Now that I am a month away from my TT and lipo, I find myself feeling a bit anxious and nervous!

It's normal to feel nervous but you'll be fine. I was nervous up to the time they wheeled me to the O.R. My doc assured me that everything would be alright. I wish you the best!

July 18 - Pre Op Appointment
scorpio66July 20, 2014
Attended my pre-op appointment. I received instructions for before and after my TT and liposuction procedure. I was measured for my post surgical garment and had before pictures taken. Throughout the appointment, I was reminded of the importance of walking to prevent blood clots. I also learned, in no uncertain terms, that I will probably feel the pain from the back liposuction a whole lot more than the TT incision post operatively. I received assurance that my PS or his nurse would be available 24/7 should I have any concerns or questions once I was home. I left feeling well informed and believing that Dr. Hopkins and his staff are caring people under whose care I will do great!!

You look great!! Did you have liposuction or just the TT?
