Worth It
Spent: $4,250 in Columbus, OH

I’m 44 and I just started Invisalign yesterday. So far, so good. They are pretty comfortable. I haven’t had any pain and haven’t had to take any Advil even though the dentist recommended it for the first day.

The only minor inconvenience I have noticed so far is having to take them out to eat and then having to brush my teeth before I put them back in. At home that isn’t a big deal but I’m not a big fan of brushing my teeth in the restroom at work while others walk in and out.

My braces are a little more noticeable than most because I have attachments on all four of my top front teeth so it almost looks like a line running across my top teeth. However, I’ve been at work for a half day so far and have talked to several people and nobody has noticed yet…or at least they haven’t said anything.

Oh, the only other thing I might mention is that the attachments are a little uncomfortable when the braces are off and you are eating…it feels like food is getting stuck on them and they are rough on your tongue.

Overall, if I can get the results I am expecting, all of this will be well worth it. My treatment is only supposed to take 26 weeks.

I have been wearing Invisalign for about 18 months now. I have completed the original treatment plus two refinements. I have one refinement remaining. Although it has taken longer than I originally thought it would, I am happy with the results so far. I don't know how many trays my final refinement will be yet but my total treatment time should be a little less than 2 years.

Finally finished. Started in September 2009 and finished today. Feels so good to finally have those attachments off! I am happy with the results. My teeth aren't perfect but compared to what I started with, they look much better.

I was happy with my Invisalign results but the teeth on either side of my front teeth still bothered me so I had bonding done to fill some gaps (which weren't visible from the front) and to add a little length to all four of my top front teeth. I'm finally happy with my smile. I won't be having any additional work done.

Hi I'm happy for you. I just got my impressions done on Sept 16 th and I can't wait for them to come back. How long did it take for yours to come back? Please keep us updated.

It took about a month from the impressions to starting the braces. It took about two weeks to get the Clincheck back and then after reviewing that they placed the order for the braces and that took about another two weeks so about a month total. Everything is still going fine. No one has noticed them...or at least no one has said anything about them. They are pretty comfortable. I actually started my second set a few days early and they aren't painful either. Just a little pressure but I definitely wouldn't consider it painful. Good luck!

Started set 5 today. Still no pain and my teeth are definitely moving. No one has noticed them yet.

I have completed my original treatment. I didn't get the full results I expected with the first round (13 trays) so I am now doing a refinement. I am currently on tray 2 of 12 for my refinement. They are trying to extrude (pull down) my front four middle teeth and they didn't move as much as expected with the first round of treatment. My bottom teeth, which were pretty crooked, are almost perfectly straight now so I am happy with the results on the bottom teeth. I still have never had any pain at all with the braces. I actually wish they would be a little more aggressive with the braces and force the movement more. At least when you feel the pressure of new trays, you feel like it is actually working. I'm not thrilled about wearing 12 more trays but I still think if I can get the results I am hoping for, it will be better than the alternative. When I checked into traditional metal braces, they thought treatment would take a year and a half to two years.

Your teeth look great compared to the before pic, not that they were bad to begin with but the transformation is defiantly noticeable. I am a 22 year old male and almost done with my inviaslign treatment ( unless I need a refinement). Anyways, my question is how much did you pay for your bonding, how long does it last (durability) and did they have to take off any enamel to achieve those results? My two front teeth are chipped and I had them filed down a bit but would like to add a bit of length in addition to having them square again.

Thanks. Bonding was approximately $300 per tooth. It is supposed to last 7 to 10 years. They had to rough up the enamel but I don't think they removed much tooth structure. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to my natural teeth though...not that I would ever want to anyway. I had the same issue...chipped tooth and rather than having it bonded at the time (when I was a kid) they just filed it down so I was glad to get the length added back with the bonding. Good luck.
