I am currently 2 weeks exactly since my operation....

I am currently 2 weeks exactly since my operation. I had a septoplasty as the cartelidge on my tip before operation was pushing to one side so it needed correcting. It just naturally developed like that. After thwe operation, my suregeon told me that my cartelidge was very bendy. I felt my nose was to long for my face hence the reason why i wanted a nose job. My surgeon basically pushed the tip back and also worked on my bridge to shorten it and get rid of a slight bump so a lot of work was done. Is it normal to be still disapointed after 2weeks from the surgery?Because although my front profile looks a little better than before apart from seeing the swelling on my tip but when looking at the side it looks no smaller than before. I know this is due to swelling and my surgeon already told me this but i need info from other specalists aswell. The insertions are also still visible in natural light. Will these disapear? My tip feels to big and upturned at the moment. My front profile has improved a little so im pleased with that but my side profile still looks big and long.My tip looks to large for my bridge and is very upturned which makes it stick out so im disapointed with the results at the moment. Is this normal? Updated August 11, 2009I had septorhinoplasty 3months ago. I always felt my nose was to long for my face and my nose was also twisted at the tip due to cartilidge growth so that needed sorting aswell. Pain was nothing but very uncomfortable for the 1st week while the splint was on. I was very disapointed at the begining because although my bridge looked a lot smaller but my tip was swollen and from the side it still looked very long. It was getting slightly better as the weeks went by but not to my satisfaction as the tip was still swollen and long in my eyes. This past month however has seen a massive change in the appearence of my nose. Not only has the "fat look" on my tip gone completely but my tip has now shrunk down. My tip is still hard and i still experience slight swelling now and then which proves i have a bit of healing left to go but i am really starting to love my new nose and already feel confident to not worry about my side profile anymore. My nose is almost on its way to being a "perfect shape" and this makes me feel the money i paid was worth it.My point is if you are worried about your nose tip etc like i was then you need to be patient and stop putting stress on yourself as this could delay the healing even more. I honestly thought i wasted my money a month ago but now im starting to see the nose forming and you will to. I always wanted to model but always felt self concious about my nose but now i feel i can achieve my goals. Updated September 4, 2009No pain at all but you need to be patient with this surgery. Im currently 3 and a half months since surgery and my nose is looking greta but the tip keeps changing which is a bit worrying for me as its not settling. Updated on November 25, 2009I am now 6 months since my operation and my front profile has really improved. The swelling is still persistant in the tip area and it comes and goes with some days worse (which can really alter the shape of the nose) and some days not to bad which can be annoying but when the swelling does go down i have a really nice shape emerging in which i hope will be my final outcome. It has been a slow process and although i still have peristant swelling in the tip area i still like the shape of my nose when the swelling goes down so in general im happy with what should be my final outcome once swelling has resolved. Reason im writing is because i find that when i drink alcohol the nose seems to swell up (the tip) and go hard for a about 5 days after and then gradually goes back down again if i dont drink anymore. Is this normal? When will i stop getting these swelling reactions to alcohol? or am i going to be like this always? I do enjoy a drink socially so its a bit annoying especially as its been so long since my surgery and i would think swelling wouldnt be so bad after this long. Im just hoping alcohol wont ruin my results...Hello, i had a septorhiniplasty and i am now 3 and a half months since surgery and i recently wrote a review which was positive but i still have issues. My nose tip went down when i wrote the review and was excellent for weeks but recently its swollen up again and im experiencing swelling every other day. Some days it goes down but you can still feel that the tip is hard so i know there is swelling there and other days it sticks out because the swelling is noticable. Is this normal even after months after surgery? My bridge is fantastic but my tip is bugging me a bit and its uncomfortable when it swells up because you can feel it. Is daily swelling normal? I just want to know when the swelling will eventually go and when i will stop experiencing swelling. ALso i find sometimes when i drink alcohol the nose swells up a few days later. Is this an issue with swelling or scar tissue? im a bit worried.
