Rhinoplasty for Long, Wide, Bulbous Nose - So Far It Was Worth It! (Age 44)

Worth It
Spent: $3,000 in Canada

Pros: Already see a difference even with the swelling
Cons: Some discomfort (like a cold--having to breath through my mouth; no taste; dry mouth); long wait to see final results

I've always wanted to get rhinoplasty. I thought my nose was too wide, bulbous, long.

When I had the cast removed a week ago I was unhappy with how perky my nose looked, since my surgeon and I discussed that I would not have a perky nose. We agreed it would look like my old nose, but taken down a notch. But I thought it looked sooo different. However, now that I'm getting used to seeing it in the mirror, and have compared it with my old nose in photos, I am really pleased with the results; even with the remaining swelling at the tip.

Apparently, it can take a year or more for the swelling to subside. Now I hope it doesn't shrink too much!

I have a similar nose. I think your surgery has worked very well for you. You look like a movie star! Who was your doctor if I may ask? I consulted and dr. wants 7,000. Again, my nose is very similar to yours. I have never felt "pretty" because if this. Dr. said the new nose ( your new) is called "noble". People say that looks don't matter, but I do know that is not true.

Thank you for your compliments on my new nose. $7000 is reasonable for a good nose job including the cost of the hospital and anesthesiologist. If you're ready for this step, pick a doctor you like that has great recommendations and pictures of his work. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results! As for who my doctor is... I'm from Canada so unless you're from the West Coast you may be better off looking in your own state/province for a doctor. Good luck!

Hello there! What did you ask to have done for your procedure? Your alar base looks narrower in your after picture. Thanks!
