I had a large bulbous tip and had been wanting rhinoplasty for several years.

Pros - bulbous tip has been reduced.

Cons - swelling and healing has been very slow and is wearing my patience. Columella seems very droopy and long.

I am 2 1/2 weeks post-op of an open rhinoplasty. It was a tip rhinoplasty to reduce the size of my bulbous tip. The surgeon also slighted rotated the nose. Since then, the columella looks very droopy and long, anything but rotated. The incision looks very good and seems to be healing well, but this "droopiness" is causing me some great concern. Is it just swelling? If so, in general, how long does it take to return to normal?

Dear Tabby, it is very early to tell what is going on, particularly without photos pre and post. the most swelling is in the first few weeks. you should return to your surgeon and share your concerns and have your questions answered. With Warm Regards, Trevor M Born MD
