In January, 2014 I went to see my doctor for my annual checkup. I was so proud - I had lost over 50 pounds in the last year. I felt great. There was just one teensy thing that bothered me - the bulge around my middle that no amount of sit-ups and salads could get rid of. I asked my doctor to talk me out of a tummy tuck. "Well," she said "my patients who get them are really happy. And they stay happy with them." Huh, I thought. Then she referred me to Dr. Mary Lee Peters. I made an appointment in early February to see Dr. Peters. Dr. Peters listened to why I wanted this procedure. She looked at my poor stretch-marked, lumpy tummy. She said she felt I would benefit from a tummy tuck and possibly a lower body left (to get rid of that pesky muffin top). She took pictures, showed me previous surgeries and answered all my questions. She was calm and reassuring. She sent me to her office administrator to talk about the money. I had two options: Tummy tuck only - about ~$11K or Tummy tuck with lower body lift - ~$14K. I chose the latter. I put the surgery date WAY out because I needed to save vacation time in order to take off two weeks (REALLY important the Office Admin told me). I scheduled for October. In mid-September I chickened out. The Office Admin cheerfully rescheduled me for January, 2015. I talked with my husband, I worked out, I ate well - I did NOT chicken out. I woke up after surgery and really wondered what I had done to myself. I felt like I'd been hit by a truck. I visited Dr. Peters the next day in office and she happily asked me "Did you look at it?" Oh no, I said - I hadn't touched anything because that was what her nurse told me to do. Dr. Peters told me everything had gone well and to rest. I had another follow-up the next week (at which point, I felt a lot better) and then two weeks later (MUCH better). Both went well. I am happy to say that 8 weeks post-op I am VERY happy with Dr. Peters' work. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a plastic surgeon.

Before Pics

Here are my before pictures - 160#, measurements: Bust- 38", Waist - 32.5", Hips - 42.5"

After Pics

Here are my after pictures - 145#, measurements: Bust - 36", Waist - 30", Hips - 40". I asked Dr. Peters how much she had taken off during surgery and she said 4-6 pounds. The rest of the weight loss this year I've managed with super healthy eating and beginning to work out after week #6 with Dr. Peters' approval.
